  1. You can get aluminum extensions for your tecloaders that double their capacity.
  2. OK Sam, I had to help after I got my jab in. They are good commercial quality guns on par with DPMS in my opinion. I have built several custom rifles on their stripped lowers, and we used to carry them in the retail store. I wouldn't be afraid of them at all, but they are no JP, or Sabre either for that matter.

    never mind

No we are gonna have a sit-in, or better yet, an intervention.
  4. DAVID, CALL ME, I HAVE HIS ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER IN BEREA, KY SOUTH OF LEXINGTON. HE ALSO SHOOTS AT BGSL. DID I MENTION HE SHOOTS A BEDELL CUSTOM? MIKE
  5. Blade tech custom order through one of the dealer/distrubtors.
  6. Step 1: Determine what type of mag you want, ie. caliber, length, etc. Step 2: Forget everything you know and contact Howard Smith. HSMITH on this forum. Step 3: Wait a few weeks, it will seem like years. Step 4: Get your mags in the mail. Step 5: Live happily ever after. If you fail to do step 2, you will likely fail miserably until you go back and repeat this process correctly.
  7. Arredondo on my coupled mags for years, works great.
  8. Got mine too. This match is still fresh in my memory, thanks to all once again.
  9. The key to making this work is in the parts and the "tuning". Howard Smith builds lots of 9mm mags. If I were building one with reliability being paramount, and carry being the purpose, I would use 126mm tubes and Grams 9mm spring and followers. The spacer of choice would be the Joey Hardy 140 cut to length if you use STI tubes, or if you use SV tubes, no spacer is required. I would use a flat basepad, and since most of them are plastic, I would use a Bolen 3mm aluminum pad. If you build your "spare" mags as 140mm, then the Shooters Connection flat aluminum basepad would work well. Just my .02 cents worth, get them tuned and polished.
  10. Is that "old math" or "new match"? You all know that _ _ _ math is better and that anyone who uses _ _ _ math is a _ _ _ _.
  11. +1 on the fluted chamber, all mp5s have it, and the full auto rifles have it too, maybe even your 91.
  12. Not to get off-topic, but c'mon formeister...we still need to be responsible when we celebrate...KNOW YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT...Now back to our regularly scheduled programming... OK so I forgot to mention I used my airsoft. We do all of our live fire in the building.
  13. Sorry to take so long to post, but 7 minutes after the AP wire, my beautiful girlfriend called and told me. Chuck and I discussed, then I went out and fired two shots into the air. Now I am back to my desk, more of a free man than an hour ago!
  14. Took this from the Nikon 40X at the Junior Camp match on Saturday. Check out the bullet trail, sparks and flames from the comp, and the hammer down!
  15. "Load and make gravy." I sometimes say this just to prove that no one is really listening. "I know it is make ready, but I miss the old days when we said load first, besides, next year it will be different. "Skin that smokewagon and throw down." Not used much, but kinda bold ain't it?
  16. For this reason, we will likely stop all transfers to California including new STIs and Bedell Customs. I know the pro-gun citizens cannot outvote the antis in the metro areas. BARRETT, STI, GLOCK, AND NOW THE REST OF US ARE TAKING A STAND.
  17. Certainly there are people who have been in the industry longer than I have, but I will give you my story, and my advice. After many years in corporate America in the business intelligence area, I wanted to do something different. I considered opening a gun shop. I did the market research, the business plan, secured a location, started the licensing paper work, secured finanicial support, and partnered with someone in the industry. I realized I didn't have industry experience. Then, out of no where I was offered a relocation or a severence package. Since my wife at the time had a solid position, and we loved our home, I took the severance. It turned out to be a lot of money. I was going to take a month to find myself, when a week into my mid-30's retirement, the phone rang. It was a local firearms dealer specializing in antiques and quality modern firearms. Over the next two years I started climbing the ladder, and after several promotions and raises, got close to real world money doing something I liked. One day, the phone rang again, and on the other end was another opportunity, Director of Sales and Ops at Shooters Connection. Chuck had just relocated to a huge new facility, added a full time staffer, and was looking to expand. Being a Master class shooter, and having sales and firearms experience, we decided that it would be a perfect fit, and it has been every day for the past 9 months. Our company is growing beyond my wildest imagination. When I gave my 30 day notice of resignation to the other job, I was offered 25% of the company, and the opportunity to buy another 25% over time. Wow, a 35 year old established and profitable business, and I can own a big part of it with no investment! So I did the 5 year calculation, the 10 year calculation, and it came down to this: Did I want to work days until after 6, every Saturday, and gun shows for the next 20 years? Now with the background behind us, I will hopefully give you some qualified advice from inside the industry in a progressive company who is the best known and biggest of its kind. This is a niche industry catering to a niche market. The better you are, the more credibility you have. No matter how good your ideas are, you have to look at the size of the target market. There has to be diversity if this is going to be your primary income, and know that there is a lot of competition. Even if your ideas are better, others have earned trust with the market. I suppose not many have chimed in because the didn't want to burst your bubble, or they simply cannot identify. Keep you day job, and develop your ideas and market them in your spare time. Take a job in the industry within your current field, but only the largest firearms companies need dedicated IT guys. I hope I have not been negative here, certainly I was in the right place at the right time with the right talents. I guess it took me 6-8 years to be able to turn my dream into reality. Chuck has been in this industry for 15 years, but he had a successful business when he started doing this, and grew it gradually with a lot of hard work and midnight oil. My .02, and certainly not the gospel.
  18. We took the Limcat firing pins off the website because we had so many orders we couldn't fill that it became an issue. The manufacturer has promised them to us, and says he will ship them Monday. If that is the case, then they will be back on the site, and in stock Thursday. The Limcat is the longest FP available, the M2i, and Dawson Hyper Drive are also very good, and longer, but not as long as the LC.
  19. Guns, sure I got guns, but how much ammo do YOU have?
  20. KEVIN, NICE SHOOTING WITH YOU, AT LEAST FOR THE FIRST FEW STAGES. YOU LEFT OUT THE PART WHERE YOU STAYED AROUND FOR THE REST OF THE DAY AND PASTED RIGHT ALONG WITH OUR SQUAD. LEARN FROM IT, AND GET BACK ON THE HORSE. HOPE TO SHOOT WITH YOU AGAIN SOMETIME. MIKE
  21. I have Lyman Keeper kit that has slotted bits that are perfect for S&W revolvers and any other screws you don't want to booger-up.
  22. I had one miss and one malfunction, but shot well otherwise. I didn't time the bowling ball well, and had to wait for the first turner, but got 3 of the 4 optional hits there, even though I pushed that mike on a static in that sequence. I had a real good time all day, those stages were some of the most fun I have ever shot.
