  1. ChuckS, For the first time in its history, the IRC left the Hogue range and came to Fallon, Nevada (Stillwater Firearms Association range) in 2015. And for 2016, the IRC will be in Florida.
  2. Anyone have a link or more info on the Mesquite club/matches? I found nothing on the USPSA "Find Clubs" webpage.
  3. Starline .38 Short Colt brass Fed sm pistol primer 3.4 gr Tite Group Xtreme 147 (billed as 9mm RN, sized .357") loaded cartridge overall length: 1.135"
  4. Yeah, I heard there is another type, called "bottomfeeders."
  5. As for "no reloads for self defense", that "advice" has been around for years. But when called out on it, NO ONE (that I've ever read) has EVER pointed to a single case wherein using reloaded/handloaded ammunition was held against a righteous defendant.
  6. QUOTE This year's IRC will close ICORE's regional championships, ... UNQUOTE What does that mean?
  7. I don't blame ya one bit, dcloudy. Would be great! I actually bought a nice M25 with the same idea in mind. Unfortunately, I chickened out due to the costs involved and sold it (probably a mistake). Although it probably won't be cheap, doing a M625 would be slightly less expensive, I think, as no rebluing required. And am not quite ready to do it to my M625. After all, ICORE just implemented Limited Six Div!
  8. I've been using James Austin's moon clip server for a few years now. LOVE it.
  9. Actually, Stillwater Firearms has been incorporating Pro Am style stages for quite some time. At our 2012 Midwest Regional, Stage 6 was "Pro Am Steel."
  10. Missed connecticut(me) Is there a way you can also show counts from each? Ooops. Sorry 'bout that. Make that 22 states - including Connecticut! I reckon I could count how many from each state. But will take a while as I was simply going down the list. Or perhaps copy/paste into an excel file and then sort.
  11. Interesting. The PractiScore results show 166 entries and the ICORE webpage results show 171 entries. And, going through the match results, by my count I noted shooters from 22 states and Australia. 22 states: Nevada California Pennsylvania Washington Texas New Hampshire New Jersey Louisiana Utah Arizona Iowa Oregon Massachusetts Oklahoma Tennessee Kansas Colorado Florida Indiana Idaho Missouri Connecticut And three shooters pending ICORE membership with unknown state of residence. [Edited to add Connecticut]
  12. 2015 IRC match results have been converted to PDF and posted on the ICORE website!
  13. Will ICORE convert the IRC PractiScore results to the old pdf format and post on the ICORE website??
  14. I shot one ICORE match at the Boulder City club ("Reservation Dogs") and would like to make the trip more often to shoot with them. Nice folks. Besides the fact its difficult to make that trip very often, the Reservation Dogs monthly match is on the same Saturday as our regular monthly match. Its about 400 miles from here (Fallon.) But like Denny said, we're hosting the IRC this year here in Fallon (September 26 & 27.) Come on up and shoot with us! Our last regular monthly club ICORE match (before the IRC) will be this weekend (August 15) - and regular monthly matches will resume in October. 16. Thanks. I was thinking about the M686. Since I'm already an N frame shooter (M625 and M627), I wonder if an N frame six-shot .38/.357 would be preferable for me. The old M27 maybe. I better start talking with our ICORE Classic Div shooters!
  17. What is the most common or most desired revolver for ICORE Classic Division? I suspect the Safariland Comp III speedloaders are most common and/or the best? In Limited Division, I shoot a M627 with .38 Short Colt ammo. Love it. Never paid much attention to Classic Division equipment, but now I'm thinking about it. I have shot my M24-3 .44 Special (3" barrel) a few times, but I don't get along so good with my modified Comp II speedloaders (modified with a larger knob to grab.) Too bad they don't make the Comp III in .44 Special. Appreciate comments!
  18. "Bullet heads"? That is ridiculous. Never heard that before. And hope to never hear it again.
  19. In a perfect world, there should be an ICORE limited six division. Is there enough interest to warrant it? Don't know, but I hope so.
  20. Huh? One must pay dues/join the local club in order to shoot a USPSA match?
  21. If you already have a ton of brass, buying moon clips to fit your brass is fine. But think about buying a batch of new Starline brass and Dave Hearth's Hearthco moon clips. (I understand TK Custom moon clips are the same.) When I geared up for my M627, I bought 2000 new Starline .38 Short Colt cases - and sort of wish I had bought more! Virtually any of the moon clip mooners/demooners should work find. I recommend the BMT mooner/demooner. You'll get many opinions on which moon clip carrier to use. I REALLY like James Austin's Moon Clip Server. I use an older (leather) Safariland #2 holster. I still see the newer (Kydex?) Safariland #2 in use, but many use the fancier 'race' holsters.
  22. The final number of entries was closer to 90. A few were DQ'd or DNF and for some unknown reason not included in the results.
  23. Since I live less than an hour from Xtreme, I've been using them for many years. While not a true match grade bullet, I've found them to be fine for virtually all the match shooting I do. Would like to see an in-depth article.
  24. "... the BE forum required me to upgrade ..." LOL. Great quote. Shooters are the best. However, hanging out with such great folks (whether in person or via forums such as this) can be somewhat dangerous to one's financial health! But its all great and worthwhile stuff! Like my DA says, "This is the kind of people I want to be around."
