  1. There is an android app for it. I think it works best with apple but there are people that have no issues with the android version. I have seen reports of folks having connectivity issues when trying to use tablets. I will say that the company, Battenfield, has been very helpful, if you contact them I bet they can tell you if your specific tablet would work or not. I was one of the first purchasers of the Caldwell Chrono and I had some connectivity issues at first, but it turned out to be a setting on my iphone(4S), but I called Battenfield, they put me in touch directly with a product engineer who was very helpful. He did mention apple products worked best since the software is all the same vs android type devices that can vary by manufacturer. I imagine now that they have been out for a while, the app has been updated a few times, the compatibility issues should be going down.
  2. I use a caldwell chrono, a camera tripod I already had, and shoot at about 10-12 feet usually. Very happy with it, works great with my iPhone, but if needed I can easily read the display from shooting distance.
  3. One thing to pay attention to is the brass you reload with. Stick with Win, Fed, Blazer, or PNC. Some of the off brands like ammoload, pierce, or GFL have a step in the case that will cause it to buldge in the middle and it won't chamber. Those 150's have to be loaded fairly short to function, 1.09-1.10 works best in my XDM, and it's a pretty long bullet to begin with. None of the loads I have tried showed any pressure signs though. And you are right, those SWC holes are nice and big.
  4. Funny you are asking about that bullet, I was just having a discussion on another forum about the same one, and the lack of load data for it. I have load and chrono data for titegroup, e3, and Solo1000. To me the best use of this bullet is over fast powder at minor power factor for reduced felt recoil, and it does that well. Out of my XDM 5.25 these loads feel like shooting a .22, they all make minor PF with room to spare. Titegroup is the most consistent, most likely due to e3 and solo being larger flake powder, and with the small charges they may not be the most consistent metering. Here is a cut and paste of my response from another forum regarding the Bayou 150SWC and the chrono results: Was able to chrono some loads yesterday between rainstorms. Got the results I was pretty much expecting. I will say these loads are so soft they almost tickle. Am getting good accuracy, slightly high grouping but a couple clicks down on the rear sight should take care of that. Rounds run over my Caldwell Chrono, I am cut and pasting the results I emailed to myself. Rounds shot out of a XDM 5.25 9mm, I use a reduced power, 14lb recoil spring, I believe these rounds would cycle the stock spring however. One note, the OAL is between 1.095 and 1.105 on all three powders. Oh yeah, distance to chrono was about 15ft. 5. Buildit2, my results are almost identical to Zacks, Im shooting an XDM 5.25.
  6. You are welcome. Your results and mine are almost identical. Just curious, what about the 147's do you like better than the 135's? I cant tell much difference in accuracy between the two and the feel is really close as well, Im happy shooting either.
  7. Any pressure signs? Those loads seem to be above the max load data on the ramshot website, and shorter than the OAL as well. I have heard ramshot data is pretty conservative though.
  8. 3.4gr titegroup under a 135gr Bayou Bullet loaded to 1.135OAL makes 133 power factor out of my XDM 5.25 and is very soft and I cant tell much difference in accuracy over the 147gr Bayous.
  9. I like solo 1000 but could never find it after I ran out so I started using titegroup and E3 with great results. Just as soft, clean, accurate and the feel is basically identical.
  10. Time for you to check their website again. They now offer Hy-Tek coated on some of their products. I just ordered a sample bag of the 9mm 125gr SWC, and a sample bag of .45 200gr SWC, placed the order late Tuesday afternoon and they showed up Thursday morning. Ive never ordered from them before but if I like the results, especially with the 9mm I certainly will again. They dont offer Hy-Tek on all their products yet but I imagine if the demand is there they would. BTW, theirs are a dark copper color, almost brown. Not the "prettiest" color in the world if that matters to anyone.
  11. I rarely have issues with my pro 1000, keep it clean and pay attention to what it tells you and it will serve you well. Mine almost never gets out of time, and if it does it's a 30 second adjustment. I have had a bullet feeder for about 2 years and have yet to take it out of the box. Since I load multiple calibers I finally decided it would be more trouble than it's worth until I get a dedicated pro 1000 to put it on. Just haven't gotten around to that yet.
  12. PB is a pretty fine ball powder that meters like water in my Lee Pro auto disk, I cant imagine having metering problems unless it is leaking because of the small size. For me it meters as accurately as any powder I have ever used and does not leak unlike titegroup, that meters great but leaks a bit. As far as loading it, it works great for me in light to medium target loads. Very soft and accurate. I like it in 9mm and .45.
  13. I'm no expert and have no evidence either way but I have touched plenty of primers and never had a high rate of misfires.
  14. With titegroup a little goes a long way. With 3.4 gr under a coated lead 147gr at 1.145 OAL I get a 143PF out of my 5.25 XDM, so your results sound about right. I would like to load mine down a little but with my pro auto disk powder measure 3.4 is the lightest charge I can throw.
  15. Use lead load data for coated lead. Thats what it is, just a different form of lube on the outside.
  16. Promo is red dot without the red flakes. Alliant states on their website to use red dot load data.
  17. If you want to stay with lighter loads I have found titegroup to be very consistent in even the lightest loads.
  18. If you ever need just a little more thump I run 3.4gr Titegroup under 147gr Blue and Bayou bullets. Makes 143 PF out of my XDM 5.25 and accuracy is very good, similar to AJE's target above. Barely any more recoil than my 109 PF steel challenge load with a different bullet, but makes the steel jump.
  19. Titegroup, clays, claydot, e3, PB, solo 1000, red dot, N320. Good luck finding any of them, but they all will produce soft shooting rounds.
  20. I have had great results with 147gr coated lead over e3 and titegroup, both very soft and accurate. I like IMR7625 and PB also but they are going to be discontinued so after I use up my supply of those I will retire that load data.
  21. I didn't need to chrono that load. I know that one works But since you asked:3.3g of e3 with a Bayou 124g bullet gave me an average velocity of 1080, Std Dev of 15.4, Avg PF of 133 I did several loads with Blue 125g and e3: 3.3g gave me average velocity of 1022, Std Dev of 13.7, Avg PF of 127 3.4g gave me average velocity of 1037, Std Dev of 19.1!, Avg PF of 129 3.5g gave me average velocity of 1052, Std Dev of 7.3, and Avg PF of 131 -- this is my new standard load for 9mm. OAL was 1.135, I think. It may have been 1.130. It's not listed in my logs . I knew you would have it What powder measure are you using to fine tune your e3 loads per tenth. My Lee auto disks don't have that ability.
  22. I have not shot the SNS 147 groove less yet but the 147 coated SNS grooved over 3.4 gr titegroup makes 143 PF out of my XDM 5.25, is clean, accurate, soft and virtually smoke free. I have shot SNS coated, Blue Bullets coated, Bayou Bullets coated, and am currently shooting Ibejiheads coated lead over titegroup and none of them smoke, and all work well. Enjoy the titegroup, it's a great pistol powder.
  23. Bayou Bullets, SNS casting, Ibejiheads, BBI, Black and Blue bullets, thebluebullets.com, and eggleston cast bullets all make a coated lead projectile. I have personal experience ordering from Bayou, SNS, thebluebullets, and Ibejiheads and have been 100% satisfied with them all. They are all pretty close in price so pick your favorite color, bullet shape or weight and I'm sure you will be happy with the product.
  24. 3.4gr titegroup under a 147gr SNS coated lead at 1.145OAL makes a 143 PF out of my 5.25 XDM. I use the Lee auto disks and 3.4gr is the smallest charge I can throw, you could probably get by with 3.2gr, maybe less depending on a few factors. If you are getting leading with SNS, or any other coated lead projectile, something is wrong with your loading process. You must be damaging the coating somehow, maybe overcrimping, or under flairing the case before you seat and shaving the coating somehow. I have used 4 different kinds of coated lead projectiles and never had any leading, and I use titegroup almost exclusively.
