  1. Hi, It's more expensive but I think for a young shooter open is the way to go. It's more like X-BOX! The advantages are, there is very little reloading and not a lot of thinking, very little recoil, easy to shoot because of the dot and no thinking. Just a thought. ALSO, if its not FUN he will not want to do it again. And just from personnel experience, I would try to refrain from giving unsolicited advice. Always be positive. Oh, if he has a friend thats better---but costs you more. LOL, good luck!
  2. I'm going to use one, maybe. Paul Grundhauser is going to make me a FO front sight, I hear you on the black on black.
  3. I'm having a hard time deciding 6 or 8. So, I'm doing a survey to find out what the top 130 shooters at USPSA Nationals are going to do? I mean, if Mr. Meculek and Mr. Leatham shoot 8s than what will you do?
  4. Hi Festus, What is the Black T.?
  5. I've been reading this topic top to bottom. It's a great conversion. I find here in MN after the Rev Nat's, only one guy is still shooting Revolver on a regular basis. I have found that every one is now shooting whatever division they are vying for on the local level. Maybe to get a cheep slot in next years Nationals maybe not. The IDPA people are not crossing over to shoot revolver, they are crossing for production. And ICORE does not exist in MN. So here it is, without the Stand alone Rev Nat's, MN will never have a big Mission count. I think it is the same in every Area of USPSA. While we have this stand alone Nationals there will be an increase in participation just before the match, than that participation will die off. That is not a bad thing! As I have said before in other topics, we need to expand the division. We need 8 round minor. We need Open 8 and 6 round major. We need to make it happen. And It's not all about the prize table, at least not for me, it's about the competition against the best Shooters in the world with this firearm. ---------I love it!
  6. First time going to UT. I'm wonder about a good place to stay?
  7. My Rev ammo went minor also, Thanks to Doug from DCAmmo for saving me. As luck would have it TGO was up at the crono with his ammo checking it before the match--so, I thought better safe than sorry! Got mine out and checked it, SS was OK but not the same as in MN. Rev went minor by just a little bit. That sent me off to find Doug. His crono'd at 17pf in the 5 inch 625. Thanks again Doug
  8. Thanks DC! I'm gonna stop by. You gonna have diet sprint too? Can Duke come too? And, talked a friend and great shooter into the wheel gunning, he just got the gun today--- Way To Go Duke! That gun won't be ready but, he received a loaner from Keith U. with all Keith's gear. Duke went out today and crono'ed his rounds, wouldn't you know it. 4.2 grains of Clays over 230gr Zero FMJ. Point of interest. Keith's gun is right on at 50.
  9. I got a small screw driver in my back pocket to adjust the rear sight, I'm hitting a good 10 inches high at 50---
  10. Is Tom Dead? He lived down the street from me---
  11. So, Its almost time for the BACK TO BACK NATIONALS! just picked up my Single Stack Wow! that is different. I've been so focused on the wheeler, it is all I've been shooting. Going to try a match this weekend with both guns to find out how bad the transition is going to be. Any one else doing anything different to get ready?
  12. Bring bug spray if your going to SSN, the gnats are bad if they are out. OH! and Rain Gear. Good Luck
  13. I fly Southwest all the time. How many bags are you checking? Put 2 hundred in one and 2 in the other. They most often just ask if its separate from the gun case. Meaning there is no ammo in your lock gun box. Not the suitcase itself. make sure! your not over weight on either one. They have never weighed mine. Good luck!
  14. That is really nice! Is it going to be your carry gun? Can you post a pic of you shooting it at night? I have enjoyed your topic!
  15. That's always worth a try, We do have a new guy that runs that stuff now.
  16. They can not stop you from shipping to any law abiding citizen, as far as I know. Now you may wanna check on NY, CA, CO, and HI. The ATF can tell you for sure.
  17. I swore and oath to defend the Constitution. We must remember that, when it comes time to apply the law of this land, it applies to "All" it's citizens. What will You say when they come knocking on your door? And better yet, what will your neighbor say? I'm more worried about the rule of law as it applies to all of US after this man has his day in court. We all need to stand up for the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the rule of law, no matter how pissed off we are at the treasonous murdering traitor!
  18. I don't think so, some people had their classifiers in before the 2012 Nationals and they where not updated until after the matches.
  19. You can check FEDEX or UPS they will clue you in. Mostly you have to have the right markings on the box. Fedex or Ups has the correct labels. You can also call the ATF and get instructions.
  20. Heck all you need to get those out is some liquid nitrogen and a swab. Once the sight is good and cold, I bet it will come right out.
