  1. Just got mine! Got right through too, bump so no one misses the deadline here in a few hours!
  2. Although this was a "safe" A.D., there really is no such thing. It was an accident, a shot that wasn't meant to happen. As an R.O., you're there to enforce the rules and ensure safety. Just because everyone was lucky and this wasn't an issue, still against the rules Not to use an extreme example, but it's OK to drink and drive if I make it home safe and don't damage any persons/property?
  3. Was it production hi-cap Glock mags? or even better, 140mm tuned mags? What about the shooter who had mag's missing? How does that play out?
  4. Also, if you want to get any spare parts, or make any tweaks, Gen 3 parts might be more readily accessible. Any way you can find one of each and try out grip side by side?
  5. You can also use something similar to this: It wouldn't be pretty, but it would probably work... What about a shotgun bandolier? or a modified shotgun sling with the shell loops? Wouldn't recommend as a sling on the shotgun as it will really throw off the weight, but worn like a sash?
  6. Not to mention it's cheaper (in most cases) to shoot .40 instead of .45.
  7. Or glass breaker: http://www.zahal.org/products/%20magazine-floorplate-with-car-glass-breaker Don't laugh, this is on my carry g19, for CQB/defense or glass. Kind of neat, solid, and a good conversation starter! Or perfect for that Glock guy or gal who "has everything."
  8. At work and can't watch, but figured I would post to save it so I can review later. Free bump
  9. I had a 22/45 and sold it because they are extremely difficult to clean/break down.. other than that though, solid gun, some controls were a little tricky, but you'll very quickly make up in ammo what you spend on gun.. Even if you don't train with the exact gun you use, you can still learn the basics: trigger squeeze, sight picture, calling shots, etc..
  10. Double on the Pa locale, west central here
  11. My first match was the mid-Atlantic match years ago: Let the R.O. and squad mates know you're new. They'll all help, (even helped me load my mags after dumping 4 mags at a texas star ) Watch and learn from the other guys (or ladies). Pitch in to help with taping/pasting. That is always appreciated.. During stage walk through, ask questions, or watch how other guys plan the stage. it's always interesting to get ideas from the others around.. I don't know of anyone who ever told me to leave them alone or not respond, and I don't think I would ever discard or ignore any questions from newbie's at matches. That and have fun!
  12. After reading page 1, I was set to take one of my 10rd mag's and a dremel and settling this once and for all. Glad I get to keep all of them now! Mr. Vvrroomm, next time you're in western PA I owe you a beer.
  13. always remember the rule of FORS Front opposite, rear same when adjusting the sights.. Move the front sight opposite of where the bullet is hitting, and the rear sight the same direction you want the bullet to go.
  14. You also want to have spares on hand too, with the mags getting thrown around, dropped, beat up, and with reload practice they can get chewed up.. And nothing worse than being at a match and having a mag fail, especially in production..
  15. I read '24 in competition' as "24 inch competition" and thought whoaaa, that's a glock! As was said, I agree with Dawson's too. Easy on/off, and some of them come with the +power mag springs.. Shoot it first before you worry about major upgrades. As far as springs, develop a good load for it first, then look at the recoil spring, but +power trigger spring and minus power striker spring/lightened striker and plunger spring are usually cheap enough to do now. Look at the minus connector, and look up on here or the youtube about the $0.25 trigger job on a glock. Mag drop comes down to preference, I've never tried but I think the "paddle" style ones would be fun to try: http://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/frame-parts/magazine-release-parts/magazine-releases/standard-mag-release-for-glock-sku452000001-7580-18856.aspx?ttver=2&utm_medium=shoppingengine&utm_source=shopping&mc_id=17000&gdftrk=gdfV21820_a_7c187_a_7c1021_a_7c452000001_d_452000001_d_10729 I also think that, for much as you'll be taking the slide on and off, these are invaluable: http://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/frame-parts/slide-catch-parts/slide-catches/extended-slide-lock-lever-for-glock--prod22920.aspx?ttver=2
  16. That's only one of 3 though? so maybe there are more to come? at least 2...
  17. One way to polish the plunger is put the actual plunger in a power drill (like a drill bit) with an even sabot around it (for when you tighten the power drill head) and run that along a piece of sandpaper, instead of vice versa.. That being said, the titanium is "lighter" metal, but a part that small isn't all that noticeable. it can also be more durable, but i don't think I've ever seen a plunger wear out... The lighter spring will help on the upswing of the trigger, but with all the other mechanics going on inside there I think it gets washed out in the long run IMO, if I was redoing my g34, I'd keep it stock except for a lightweight/Ti striker and lightened spring, +pound trigger spring, $0.30 trigger job (inflation), and minus connector..
  18. It is a neat concept. Always good to have creative starts/courses. And you can also see if they should or shouldn't be carrying a firearm by the way they stab inadament/foam people in a just for fun situation..
  19. What about something like this for the major power factor guys: http://www.rei.com/product/660002/snow-peak-titanium-spork?preferredSku=6600020017&cm_mmc=cse_froogle-_-pla-_-product-_-6600020017&mr:referralID=95d4c6fd-57e2-11e2-b779-001b2166c62d
  20. if you mean the "JR Speed" ones like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/3pcs-Airsoft-IPSC-Quick-Draw-Left-Right-Handed-JR-Speed-Magazine-Pouch-Red-/251196355510?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a7c7833b6 not so much... Overall not bad, but it's all plastic, including the screw and everything, and will strip wit hardly any force. Could seal permanently, but then you lose the functionality of adjusting to other mags, retention, etc.. I bought one to play with just to see... I can say they make excellent pen holders on my desk though!
  21. What about a target with a reeeaaalllyyyy slow activator? They could finish the course without activating target, miss the points/proc. but save time? I like the idea of a Popper far away with 2 no shoots on either side awfully tight... Skip the Popper or risk the no no... Plus at that distance, all they would see is white..
  22. Not in the rule book, but one of those remote control helicopters or an R/C car with a target attached, procedural if you hit the car/copter :-P We had an indoor "dark room" where ports are heavy black trash bag style plastic, and only about a 10 Watt bulb, was quite an interesting course, maybe something like that? What about like a clam shell wired to a cinder block or 2 to hold the contraption in place only raising it 6-8", taking care of the spikes if they're solid mounted? Some kind of falling/domino style targets? All lined up you would have to knock down, wait til it fell for the next one to be seen? Maybe 2-3 rows of those? Attach targets to poppers, weight down, and have a cascade down effect? If that makes sense...
  23. For those of us that live in states that actually follow the constitution, what is a FOID? Firearm owner id? I know I got into it when I wanted to build what I called a "full blown tactical gun" out of a glock... comp, magwell, extended controls, etc... Luckily I had a friend who shot competition and showed me the error of my ways and then I found a nice deal on a used g34, started in production, and here I am... I guess "2b1, ask1" works here too..
  24. Not quite 300, but I love these guys. Pretty durable, screw lid, label removes easy, and at $3bucks and a sugar rush, it's a no brainer!:
