  1. I have several mags that were worked on by Beven Grams. They are perfect in every way and worth twice what he charges IMO. Last I spoke to him which was a month or so ago he was quick to remind that he will tune mags for his customers, but its not his primary business, so it does take a long while, 6 month turn around when I talked to him. I could never produce the result he gets without ruining alot of parts and wasting many many hours, but I do have the kit and was able to at least get some factory STi mags to function properly that were constantly having problems...
  2. Yeah, I mean. I watch the DVD and dave makes it look SOOO easy. I had to use considerably more love when smashing on my mags to get the to a good dimension... It does work though, kit is money well spent IMO.
  3. Per subject, can someone mic one up and let me know? This is suprisingly hard to find for some reason, searching keeps giving me OAL lengths for loads, haven't been able to find the length of just the bullet. Trying to adapt a load based on this bullet... thanks.
  4. Mine seem to slip past at 28 though, I just want 28 reliable, not trying for 29/30. In any case, fix's above offered, I wasn't missing some mysterious thing and know how to get where I need to be.
  5. Thanks everyone. I got that it was going past the ribs, just wondering if I was missing something else. I was thinking it wouldn't be to hard to spot weld a thin piece if steel below the ribs to remedy. My nephew is a professional welder that works with very thin parts so this is a pretty simple thing for him. thanks again everyone.
  6. I have a couple 170 mm tubes. With either grams or tti spring and follower I can get 27 rounds in with the factory STi basepad, When I put either a grams or TTI basedpased on, I can get extra rounds in, but it always ends up the very first round in gets by the follower and gums up the works. What am I doing wrong?
  7. I'd guess otherwise, but yeah, it is what it is. Unrelated to F&N, Given Shannon's experience hosting the biggest matches I suspect the overall difficulty of the upcoming IRC will be quite high...
  8. I thought bullets were either RN or HP, but not both??? Does Xtreme offer a RNHP? you know, my apologies because i made an assumption there and shouldn't have. I read that as RoundNose HeavyPlate, not hollow point, specifically the bullet is RN HPCB, RoundNose, HeavyPlate, ConcaveBase...
  9. I'm glad it's gone at least for this year. No irc discussion would be complete without some far and near banter though.
  10. 7.7 gn of 3n37 @ 1.185 with a 124 rn hp xtreme makes 173 pf in my trubor.
  11. yes, but its all about expectations. The qc on these guns is atrocious, just realize you are basically buying a kit gun that is rough assembled and it will need to be fixed if you have any expectations about a have a nice action, accuracy, etc... From what I have seen of 327's and 627's that numerous friends have bought in recent years, it is the same story here as well.
  12. my kids are 8 and 9. They have been on airguns for a couple years, but only lined up shooting at a bench sort of thing. There is a local guy who's son can't be more than 7 or 8, he shot last season at several matches. He shoots limited and his gun handling is just as competent as any of the adults at the match, both negotiating course of fire and at safe tables, etc.. Its all down to the kid and how much time the parent has put into training him.
  13. I just have not tried anything else. Also, I see most of the 3N37 loads are around 8.5 grains and my load is 10.2. More ammo per pound if I go to3N 37. But if it doesn't run the comp as well and is more harsh in the hand I will stick with what I have been running. I am making major just fine. 169.5. 7.7 gn of 3n37 @ 1.185 with a 124 RN. 9mm 173 pf in my trubor... No ports, so this is bouncy and as someone else mentioned, this definitively hits you in the hand... I am using it because I bought a fair amount when it was available, will not buy anymore when its gone...
  14. I have 4 n frames, 3 built by dave. Everyone dave built runs 100% at 3.8-4.0 lbs on a lyman gauge with fed primers, including the 929 which had some early heartburn. The 4th was a gun second to me that was built by pinnacle custom story is same. Alec has finger banged all my guns, they are good. Its what I am used to be because the guns I started on were loaned to me all had actions like this. I get the argument about a mushy rebound though, but I don't notice it myself.
  15. Yah, His revolver technique looks to be more traditional with thumbs tucked. With plastic guns, he is 50/50 from what i've seen in videos and pictures with finger in front of trigger gaurd. I'm pretty sure there is a video on his youtube explaining why he does this. if you click that video i linked, it starts playing where he talks about it. starts at the beginning for me, what time point? wtf, really?? Go to 11:20

  17. The JM I'm thinking of definitely does not shoot with his finger on the trigger guard. He also does not have gorilla hands. When he shoots the plastic guns it seems to be something he is advocating now, seen plenty of video on shooting usa or whatever when he does 3 gun. https://youtu.be/ChSazF41q-s?t=681 can't figure out how to embed video...
  18. Randolphs or Decots. All else is a fashion statement. <j/k>
  19. It doesn't seem to hurt rich wolfe.. He doesn't suck even a little. And then there is this guy Eric, he is basically unbeatable.
  20. Loaded, ain't got no time for unloading all that.
  21. Can also just shorten the strain screw?
  22. The match is being held at Universal Shooting Academy, and they have hosted lots and lots of international competitors there. I would reach out to them, they can probably advise you. http://www.universalshootingacademy.com/contact-universal-shooting-academy/contact/

Mag dimensions are definitely different. All my mags that have never jammed the gun are .344 front to back on the feed lips and all the two flaky ones are .370+. aftec extractor, springs are virtually brand new. Ejector tuning is outside my current skill set, anyone have a tutorial on that? I am not against going to the 90 mount, its just another 150 bucks into the money pit for the mount and long racker.
