  1. Any shorty at all? Some one must be coming to VT
  2. I would hardly call my current blaster a beater unless you are talking about what it did to you and your Brazo's
  3. Are any of you guys with shorty's goin to be in VT for the aware?
  4. Is anyone traveling to VT to shoot the AWARE with a bedell open blaster. I would like to try out a shorty.
  5. I lost one of mine. I went to the local hardware store with my belt and was able to find all the parts I needed to get everything put back together.
  6. Steve in your book you don't use a lot of slow motion drills. How do you feel about them?
  7. Do any of you guys use the blue pratice mags?I like the weight of the dummy rounds in a mag. The mag sure takes a beating if I mess up and it hits the ground.
  8. What I found was I was relaxed during Dry fire but when I got the the range I tried to go fast. It adds time. I started chewing gum while I shoot to keep me loose waiting for the beep. I got the idea from a posting some place around here. It made my live fire closer to my dryfire. In dryfire its much easier to say you did the drill before the beep ends then it is to beat the clock with a shot. I set a .50 par on my old club timer. It went beeeeebeeeep. THe buzzer ate up the whole time allowed for the drill.
  9. Try the grams follower and spring they work in my caspian craig mag.
  10. PM if you still want the .40 Lee FCD. I used mine only for a couple of rounds. Didn't like how "jerky" it made the press. The EGW sizing die is all I need. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks... saw this quite late but I ended up ordering from Geo at EGW their 38 and 40 dies... got tired of looking for the Lee die... Thanks again Regards, <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The die you get from EGW is a Lee die.
  11. I have been using Steves book and using the sight picture only draws. It has made me pay way more attention to the sights during the draw. When I hit the range for live fire I know where every shot has hit. Looking for the sight on the target during multiple shot drills has become very important before I slap that trigger back.
  12. I shot in the freezing cold VT winter at 64% with an open gun.
  13. I guess we all agree with the intersection theory exept for the guys who reach over to the holster with their week hand... unless they reload there. We just dont all have the same intersection. I know I reload at the same point I draw grasp the gun with my support hand.
  14. Same problem here. And I think the reason for it is because most of my dryf fire draw practice has been with targets that are relatively closer. When I tested the technique on poppers out to 30m the problem became very apparent. I had to make a concious effort to guide the gun into the end stroke so the sights don't wobble too much and I can break the shot and hit the target reliably. And here's the kicker. The same "guiding technique" in the close targets produce the same draw times as my old style. It just feels "slower." Gotta beat that into my thick skull. As for putting the gun in front of my face, I've always done that not because I thought it was right. But I was afraid then of sweeping my other hand or not know where it's pointed if I lose sight of the gun. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Have you had some one watch you with your draw or taped it so you could see what you are doing compared to what you think you are doing?
  15. I try to keep my hands from crossing the center point of my body to do things. I try to get the support hand on there before the push out. I think much of the dot movement at the end of the draw is from the support hand getiing its good grip at the end of the draw. Recording my draws on video. I was very supprised about two things I noticed. I was not pushing the gun out at eye level like I thought I was. I was coming up from about holster height. I also was supprised about how the dry fire drills have made my draws less choppy much smoother.
  16. When I make my draw to the high ready and push the gun out to the target the sights settle much quicker. I have not decided if this happens because I am pushing the gun straight out or if it is because I am more aware of getting my support hand on the gun insted of rushing to the end of the draw for the shot. What do you guys think about that?
  17. Not all LEO,s carry ther weapon onto the plane. If I was flying to a training I would check my gun with unloaded mags. Ammo has to be in a container designed to hold ammo. They dont hold you to the factory package(here at least) TSA screens evey bag gun or not. They do handle them but not in a manor where the general population would see them.
  18. The Craig mags fit fine in my 1st gen frame. I spoke with Caspian they told me the internal measurements of the frame are the same for their guns 1st or second. Measure the mag you are having problems with you may need to put it in a vise to work out a fat spot
  19. I grabbed this off of a post TT has on Max's web page Posted: Thu Mar 17, 2005 1:55 pm Post subject: Caspian shooters please read -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Would you guys be interested in combining our $ and get the new magazine die made? The initial investment would also include a production run of tubes. The die would be modular in order to produce both 38 Super and .40 S&W mags, in any lengths. If there’s enough of us it wouldn’t be any more than buying a belt full of new magazines anyway, and we could always sell the excess or subsequent runs to recoup. Dave is very willing to meet our demands and makes incredible products. This would be like a group buy. Here’s is the company that has the plans and desire to build the new Caspian magazine: http://www.pri-mounts.com/ Let me know what you guys think. I'm not ready to give up on this. Even if you're not interested in this, please post to this thread if you'd buy new magazines for the Caspian. 20. It seems like it is taking forever for these to get out on the market.
  21. I have a lim cat the is a couple of years old. It does not work well with my rounded trigger guard on my caspian. It does not fet in easly because the bar that locks the gun in just barely catches the edge of the gun. I have had my gun fall out of it a couple of times. It now stays at home and I use a CR Speed. When the gun is locked into the holster it is rather loose. I was always worried about moving with it unlocked.
  22. I adjusted for the new bullet but the aol is the same for the two.
