  1. I ran the same belt, holster, and pouches when I first started USPSA Production, using my SSP rig. I just added more magazine pouches. It took a while for me to get used to always starting a reload when I started moving, and to analyze stages differently. But it wasn't a big transition. Since then, I have given up IDPA and switched to a more competitive rig. Stop worrying and give it a try with your IDPA rig.

    Glock 19 Gen 4

This. The factory sights are horrid (for my old eyes) and the factory trigger is pretty bad too.

    Glock 17M

Looks good. However the Indianapolis PD has apparently had to send them back to Glock due to problems. The slides were coming off while dry-firing. Hopefully Glock will get that straightened out quickly.
  4. Been there, done that. That is why when I pick up my mags after a stage, I always put them in my pocket. I never put a partially full or empty mag back into a mag holder. Then I go reload my mags, and put the fully loaded mags into my holders. Any time I have mags in my holders, they are fully loaded. That way I know I'm ready if I have mags in my holders -- I don't have to ask myself whether I remembered to reload my mags or not. Mags in the holders means I'm ready to go.
  5. Yup, that's where I got mine. Very fast turn around.
  6. I used Ready Tactical when I was shooting revolver in IDPA. They worked great for me.
  7. I put a few hundred rounds through it today. It worked perfectly. No light strikes (I'm using Federal primers). So far, so good.
  8. I just installed a DK custom trigger in my Glock 34. I'll take it to the range later today. Wow, is it light. About 2 lbs. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. There are a lot of us behind enemy lines -- MA, CA, NY, CT, HI, MD, NJ. If you want to shoot an optic and you are in a free state, then go open.
  10. I've run about 500 rounds through using the 11 lb spring. That seems to work well with my load.
  11. I like Ready Tactical mag pouches for carry. I also used them back when I shot IDPA. https://cpwsa.com/collections/magazine-pouches/products/ready-tactical-sidewinder-speed-pouch
  12. I went with the Leupold Deltapoint. I can't comment on the Vortex.
  13. I assume that means carried on your shoulder using a sling, with the muzzle up. But the language isn't clear.
  14. No sites on mine, just the dot. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. I have no idea, the last uzi I shot was 30 years ago and it was full auto The only open-bolt gun I've shot was a S&W M76. The trigger wasn't a thing of beauty.
  16. I haven't chronoed it yet. Probably near 130. About 3.2 gr of N320.
  17. How is the Uzi trigger on a semi-auto Uzi? On the open-bolt, full-auto Uzi, I assume that the trigger isn't great, but I realize that the semi-auto fires from a closed bolt. Is there any way to mount an optic on an Uzi? I would imagine the top-mounted charger would get in the way.
  18. I'm running 147gr in my G34. I tried a 13 lb ISMI spring in it last weekend, and I think it is oversprung -- the empties were falling very close to my feet. I've put in an 11 lb spring, but I haven't had a chance to test it yet. I'll try it this weekend.
  19. I certainly don't claim to do well in production, but I disagree with that statement. When I was shooting production (and before my eyes got bad enough that I couldn't focus on the front sight), I would track the front sight through the shot. I would fire the shot, see the front sight lift, and see it drop back down on target. Now that I'm shooting CO, I see the red dot while I break the shot. I track the red dot as the front of the gun lifts slightly, and when it settles back on target I shoot again. I don't lose the dot while shooting. Where I'm slower with CO is acquiring the dot the first time, whether off the draw or while getting into position. With iron sights, you always know how to move the gun to get the sights aligned. With the dot, if you are out of alignment then you don't see the dot and don't have any feedback on how to adjust the gun to find the sights. I believe that is simply due to lack of dry practice on my part.
  20. I sighted mine in at 25'. Given my relatively poor marksmanship, I really haven't noticed any significant change over distance not have a seen a significant problem with offset. I then backed up to 60' and didn't notice any significant change in point of impact.
  21. I saw a guy shoot his Sig P229 in .357 SIG with his duty ammo. He was a Federal Air Marshal. Awesome shooter and a nice guy.
  22. I wanted to try carry optics and I already had a Glock 34. So I figured the dovetail mount was the easiest, cheapest way to decide whether I liked it. So far, so good. I don't really see any problem with the offset and I haven't had any problems with security of the mount. Perhaps I'll eventually get another slide, or have this slide milled, but for the interim, the dovetail mount is working fine.
  23. I think it may be because if you are running iron sights, no matter how you are holding the gun, the iron sights tell you how you need to correct the gun position in order to align the sights. In contrast, when running the red dot, as I bring up the gun to my eye, if my hand position is incorrect I don't get any feedback from the sight as to which way to move it to find the dot -- I just don't see the dot at all.
  24. I had my first match with the Deltapoint and had a great time. Not too much hunting for the dot. Still slow as molasses, though. More A hits than I would normally get.
