  1. Happy b-day, Brian. Thank again for creating this family and allowing us to learn.
  2. Local ace hardware-light wand. about 30 LED's-tins of candlepower for $8. couple wire ties and yer in business. I'm assuming that is a plug-in model and not battery operated? 2 AA batteries-don't want any 110 by gunpowder.
  3. Lack of beer is about the only complaint I have with our sport
  4. Having a brew-40 years ago today I enlisted in the marines...i'd do it all over again.
  5. Done...2013 will be Vietnam Era if Bryan brings his 151a1 down. Vietnam Division...pistol and shotgun rules same as for this year's WWII Division, and either Light (iron sight AR15 w/16" or 20" barrel) or Heavy (iron sight basic M1A), full size FALs (for the Aussies) and semi-auto M60s allowed at MD's discretion? how about selective fire m-14's? i'm in!
  6. +100 on using a jig. I like a bit more takeaway angle on all my sears. The most important thing is to keep the hammer hooks square after you cut them. If not, you will NEVER have a decent, consistent pull.

  8. i don't play golf, but when i saw this i was impressed. dude duffer it skipping t across the water and gets an ace! http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/golf-devil-ball-golf/video-martin-kaymer-skips-one-off-water-hole-032832544.html
  9. Great point! Shooting TS gear at a match in Open, I was shocked my name was called so soon. If you are in TS, shooting crappy, slap a bi-pod on, get bumped to open, get to leave earlier, maybe even with a better prize. you leave earlier, cause there are no prizes.
  10. +1000 on this. also, if you can stick with 1 powder for say all yer .223 needs, less chances of mixing rifle powders.
  11. Go big red! Watching a game in Lincoln on my bucket list next year!

  12. Thanks, looks like to decent changes. You just going to add the rear safety or swap out the front as well? Anyone else making alterations? A set of HiViz sights for slugs and getting the lifter welded are my two highest priorities (my thumb is killing me right now). A secondary consideration is doing something to tame the recoil a tad. A recoil reducer and some expanding foam in the stock are a definite possibility. A lesser priority might be extended chokes in LF and LM and a side saddle. Tame recoil? Shoot 2 3/4 dram, 1 1/8 oz stuff
  13. First off, I have no axe to grind- I shoot open cause I want to. But hear me out- open as a division, is dying, quickly. It is going the way of limited as we once knew it. Why? Lots of reasons. Let's start with 3gun nation. Nuff said-open a bastard child last year, non-existent this year. Secondly, the pond is pretty small now-if you wanna shoot with the heat, tactical is the heat. Look at the equipment-start with shotgun. Hardly any advantage in open. Load two and quad load has shrunk the gap in reload time to the point where if you really practice, it's too close to call. Mag fed shotguns? Course design killing it as well, not to mention the cost. Rifle? I can't remember the last time a bipod was an advantage. Let's face it, we all monopod anyway. A second optic? Who cares. Variable scopes with a switch view makes it not necessary. Big comp? Again, no big given tuning the gas systems on our AR's. Pistols? A dot and comp is a bit of an advantage, but in MG, there are so few pistol challenging stages that it doesn't matter. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
  14. so we're talking 25 or so grains of hs6?
  15. reading this thread got me thinking. if it doesn't take much of a blow to change to POA/POI, i'm wondering what the chances are to do the same thing while dumping shotguns under the clock in multi gun? i've witnessed some pretty aggressive dumping...just a thought.
  16. stick around and help tear down-you might see the results by then.
  17. Glad yer not hurt, my friend. Do tell us wtf went down if you ever figure it out. Oh, send sure fire the mag and tell 'me you want the patent on the 65 rounder you just made.
  18. maybe it's the factory installed ones-the one benny did for me is adjusted perfectly. trigger stops where it should.
  19. I don't enjoy getting swept in the parking lot, even with a chamber flag. Plus, last year on one stage the ro's prohibited using an expended SG shell as a chamber flag, others didn't care. All over the map on this.
