  1. Wow that sucks. I would about to order a shell holder, because I hate the collet it comes with. Also, I have the hornady cam lock puller, and I pulled a couple hundred 40 the other day, all coated BBI or blue and it wasn't as much as marking any of them. I had a bunch of 115 rn plated to pull as well, but the collet just kept setting the bullets back. Had to use the kinetic on those. Maybe I'm missing a collar or something.
  2. I loaded up a test ladder at 1.095 over N320 this weekend. Hope to chrono those at lunch one day this week, and then load up 100 of titegroup and 100 of n320 at the same PF to do a comparison between them using the SFx. As far as I know, the N320 is almost identical to the sport pistol powder (only difference is I have N320 on hand right now). These will be 124 MG JHP.
  3. Actually not much. The magwell on the EC makes it fit my hand well enough that I don't notice the missing grip length. Barrel lengths are about the same if you consider that the EC is threaded past the end of the slide. I'd say the SFx edges it by a tiny amount, but that may just be the trigger difference. What shocked me last time out was how well I was shooting the little SC, with the abs cowitness dot (SMS2, or whatever it comes with) I was running plate racks as fast or faster than the EC. With a little CC gun, and the bone stock canik trigger. That put a big ol grin on my face. I gotta get one soon. I still struggle with dots, I suppose. Right now I have the 507gr on the EC and a vortex viper on the SFx. I may want to try primary arm's custom 507 reticle on the SFX (the circle is bigger than the window... neat innovation).
  4. Soon I'll work up a ladder for mine with 124mg to test accuracy. But I have another gun with a short chamber, so my OAL is usually 1.095 ish with that bullet, and I usually run that over 3.9gr titegroup. I've shot hundreds of this through my SFX because I had it loaded for my single stack 1911, but I never really tested it for accuracy. I did a load test a couple of weeks ago with berry's 115 plated seconds that I got real cheap and they were stupid accurate over 4.3gr of titegroup (loaded to like 1.2OAL) in the SFx. Gave me 130pf. But... they're snappy little 115s. Some day I'll get the brass/tungsten stuff on my gun and maybe 115s will be worth it. For now I've still got a bunch of 124MG to load.
  5. I have both the SFx and Elite Combat Exec (salient). The SFx is probably more accurate by a hair than the EC. I think Salient just designs the parts, but Canik makes them. So the barrels should be about the same (CHF, actually). My SFx has a freedomsmith trigger, which is a bit better than the salient one, as it has less pretravel/overtravel.
  6. Mine plunks at longer lengths with these bullets, but it doesn't spin, so I'm not certain if they're into the lands or what.
  7. Well, I'm trying to save time at the range. And I'm going to test every load for accuracy at 25yd. I've found in the past there's a big difference between loads at the right speed or a "magic" SD number, and one that's accurate as hell. It could be that 3.8 = 128PF is great, but too slow for what I need, and then I load up at 3.9 and it's not as accurate. It's a pain, and a pain at the range, but I want to get it down to one range trip, one tedious ass loading session.
  8. So after lots of garage cleaning, and cool enough weather to be out there in TX, I finally made some dummies to plunk and spin test. It seems my TP9 SFx only get good spinners at 1.110" exactly. 1.115" is sometimes ok, but not every round. So it seems 1.110" is where I'll be loading. Over N320. Now what ladder loads should I make? I'm thinking 3.5 - 4.3gr in .1 increments. Sound good?
  9. I haven't plunked yet, but are you getting better accuracy with the longer COAL after reaming? TBH, this canik is retarded accurate with S&B 124 nato ammo (like on par with my SVI if not even better), and like all factory stuff, is likely short. For my 1911 I always had to load short (1.095" IIRC).
  10. Any starting hints, especially COAL? I'll probably be loading 124 MG JHP over titegroup or N320 that I have around already.
  11. Yes I do. 1.095" OAL 3.9gr TG Makes minor power.
  12. Where can you get basepads that match the factory magwell?
  13. Also, what should I put in the form at blade tech for 51947 (5" with full length tail) for a holster?
  14. I just bought one of these (51947, 9mm/22tcm) for my father in law. Took it to the range and went back and forth with it and my own older SVI in 40. Shot great, no issues at all (I went over it completely including setting the extractor tension with the weigand gauges). Accuracy wasn't on par with the SVI, especially at longer distances, but I think that has more to do with my 9mm load not being a great one. I read the last few pages here and find references to ACT mags from cotes, but those seem to be for 40. So what are the 9mm mags y'all are using for these? So far it seems impossible to get the exact one that comes with the gun from armscor.
  15. I don't think much. The 300blk round is so well designed even the cheapest stuff you can scrounge up could end up as your best shooting gun (within 300blk effective range, of course). I literally bought all the cheapest parts I could find for my build and I'm still stunned by how well it shoots. AFAIK, the enhanced aero precision uppers have handguard mounts built in to the upper. This might help a tiny bit if you were doing an irons build with a front sight on a rail on the handguard. But, I would always choose one of their COP C4/M4 uppers (modular monolithic) over that anyways. I've been wanting one of those for a while now. What barrel length are you going with?
  16. Still looking for that mythical buddy that has a ransom rest and is willing to loan it out...
  17. Really, no worries on proton activation in that storage vault? I wouldn't touch that think with a 10' pole... but I'll admit I have no experience with used medical equipment. I do know that some of the worst nuclear incidents were from people trying to recycle nucmed equipment in Brazil...
  18. No love for voodoo lmos? Mine works, but I wish I had more rounds through it. I also don't have anything to compare it to other than m16 bcgs.
  19. Rim came off, not the head. The die wasn't finished properly. Forster sent me a new one.
  20. I've tried the ALG QMS with the JO springs, and to be honest I've never been impressed by that. My favorite trigger all time is the G 3G (curved trigger). I wish there was a cheaper option that had the feel of one of those.
  21. -1 There are barely 1-2 posts per day here. If it were split up you'd see 1-2 post per month per caliber, and then nobody would pay any attention to them at all.
  22. This is exactly my setup. But I calibrate with the Lyman cal weights every time I use it.
  23. I adjusted them exactly as the instructions stated. I went through their procedure twice to make sure.
  24. Well, my second ever 300BLK case just got stuck in the die. The press pulled the head off the case, and since the spindle was stuck in the die (but loose), I tried to hammer the case out by the spindle. Pretty sure everything is destroyed at this point I was using one shot lube, and it was a forester bench rest full length sizing die. ARGGHHHHHH!!!!! So far, I HATE reloading rifle.
  25. I think you must be thinking of extreme spread of 20. A SD of 20 would suck balls.
