  1. OK, I have a problem! I have a P16 Limited, metal mag catch and a new Kart barrel. Everything is tight and it feels good. I have been having problems with the bullets setting back when run through the gun. I am loading 165 gr Zero JHPs. OAL is 1.160. Everything I have read on crimp in this forum is that the dimension at the case mouth after crimp should be .420? Case demension is .420 at base of case. .418 at middle of case. .420 at mouth of case. Loading on RCBS carbide dies, Lee FCD. This amount of crimp will hold the bullet in place when they are cycled by hand through the gun. If I load it, lock the slide back and then drop the slide it will set it back about .01 each time this is done. Same if not more when the load is fired in the gun. I have been adjusting the crimp and cycling them in an attemp to find the crimp that will keep the bullet in place. I have come up with .416 outside case mouth dimension as the point that will hold the bullet. Isn't this to much "crimp"? Won't this hurt the accuracy? Accuracy is iffy now, with little time to check accuracy yet. OK, is this the new barrel or the load? What do I need to do? TXAG

    Oakley

Guys, if you want cheap Oakleys talk to your local police buddy. They usually have a deal with them for 1/2 off retail. YOu might get your shades really cheap. Yes, please let me know how their service is. TXAG

I love mine. I get them half off retail from a local source. I did break a pair of Zeros last year. I haven't sent them in for replacement yet. How are they on things like that? Wish I could get free sutff from them. Haven't been that lucky yet. TXAG
  4. Where are you guys finding the stages for the match. I saw the squaudding but no stage descriptions? TXAG
  5. OK, found my recipe 4lbs. course ground chili meat(or cubed chuck or round steak) 1lb. pork sausage 1.5 Tbsp fresh crushed garlic 1.5 medium onions -chopped 2 Tbsp cumin(1/2 while cooking, 1/2 just prior to serving) .5 Tbsp salt 5 Tbsp black pepper 1 cup of chili powder .5 cups of paprika 18 oz tomato sauce 6 oz crushed tomato 6 oz can of green chilis 1 tsp brown sugar (added shortly before serving) 1 tsp of dry mustard 1/2 tsp oregano 8 oz beef broth 3 oz beer of choice. Shiner Bock gives a distinct taste over other domestic beers 1 oz of tequila of choice. (optional) Brown meat and onions together. Drain grease from meat. Add all ingredients as instructed above into pot and simmer on low heat for 2 hours or more. Stir frequently. Add water if necessary but sparingly. Add rest of cumin and brown sugar just prior to serving. For a hotter option, add one or two fresh chopped jalapenos or habaneros! There are lots of ingredients but it is all worth it. Vary amounts as desired. Enjoy! TXAG
  6. Sept 5, 19"69"! I'm not scared of father time! TXAG
  7. I will have shot them all by the time you guys get there. But...I will be an impartial RO then, don't ask me sh*@! Just kidding, I had many ask me how to shoot a stage last year. I just played dumb, easy for me!!!!!!!!!! TXAG
  8. Titeloop, 2nd in Limited. I wouldn't even attempt Open. TXAG
  9. I have a bad back and if I slump on a stool or stand for long periods of time reloading it kills me. I have an office chair that I sit on that give me some back support while reloading. I don't know how anyone loads standing for any length of time. I will continue to reload "the wrong way" myself. TXAG
  10. I have never shot a match where I did well anyway and I feel it is my duty to help out with a major match in my section (Tx South). Oh, I some how finished 2nd C last year at Space City. TXAG

    Ouch!!

My now ex-girlfriend removed a good portion of her thumbnail on her weak hand reloading my limted gun once. Bloodied up my mag and blaster pretty bad. I tried to be simpathetic and not laugh. She DNFed the match. Not sure she ever shot another match. TXAG
  12. Can we speed up the process of Kalifornia falling into the Pacific? TXAG
  13. One sure way to get into shoot the match is to volunteer to work and your match fee is "free". Hope to see you all there. TXAG
  14. Duck of Death, since when is the 45 ACP a "useless caliber"? If I were shooting limited 10 I wouldn't shoot anything but 45. I have a P16 and until I tinkered with it(why I will never know?) I never had a malfunction of any kind in over two years of shooting matches. Why does everyone put down the P16? I love mine. I wouldn't mind having a S_I of some sort but my pocket book isn't that big. SOme day maybe I will have an S_I but I will always keep my P16 Limited. TXAG
  15. Rnelson, man you have it rough. I just dont know what I would do with all of that. Spend most of my time stalking those bambi bucks that thrive in that area. Rest of time would be shooting, shooting and more shooting. TXAG
  16. Good to hear. Look for me. Don't know what stage I will be Roing yet. Probably be wearing an A&M shirt of some sort and a name tag. Jason Sutton
  17. Since it was brought up in another post I decided to see how many forum members would be at the Space City match this year? I know there are several Texas shooters here. I will be an RO this year as usual so if you are shooting, be nice to your ROs TXAG
  18. I will pattern my gun with IC and Mod chokes at several distances and see how it does. I am shooting a Stoeger 2000 with 26" barrel. Not exactly a good three gun shotgun but will have to do for now. We are jsut getting started in shotgun stages and most of us are new to it. Gonna take it slow and see how things go. Thanks for the info guys. TXAG
  19. OK, THE ONLY PHOTO ON MY PC IS UP!!!!!! Lets see......way to much beer on a river trip in New Braunfels. Will try to update it with something more appropriate at a later date. TXAG
  20. I will be using #6 and #4 for the most part now. A long shot in our bay will be 25yds. Being the match director and new to shotgun stages(same for most of rest of shooters) I am gonna stick to basics for now. I am gonna try the mod. choke for now. thanks for the advice guys. TXAG
  21. I will be desiging the stage and ranges will be less than 25 yds. I will probably use a modified choke. I dont really even have a 3 gun shotgun. We are just getting into shotgun at our club. The public range officer has been hesitant to allow shotguns on the range in the past. It will be a new experience for many of us. I hopefully will be getting into 3-gun soon! Thanks, TXAG
  22. Hey Sniper, I will be at Space City. I will be the goofy RO on one of the stages! TXAG
  23. Ok, my club is gonna have a shotgun side match next month. My question is what choke tube do I want to use for an all steel shotgun stage. I would think full but I have never shot anything but pistol in IPSC. Thanks in advance for info. TXAG
  24. Tite Group...hey, did I say Tite Group. Try it, it meters great and it is cheap. TXAG
