  1. tah that is crazy! i load my 240gr H110 @ 23- 23.5gr pertty flashy and its also a head turner i have not tried power pitol thinkin imma try that right now! (as im typing this, looking at my press) yup its time to put my LAB jacket on..
  2. You would have to check with Magnum Research to see if they do the factory compensator on the older guns. I know the barrels are skinnier, so the profile won't be right if they slap on a comp for a MK XIX. You could get a 10" barrel and have it chopped & threaded like mine is. You could then thread a comp on that way. I keep thinking I need to design a better comp for mine. The brake was made to go on the silencer mount, so that was an easy one. But I'm thinking a scaled up version of what we see on race guns would work really well here. There is plenty of gas volume & pressure to work with. That's the same silencer on a MAC10 in the avatar. Actually, the gun was the most expensive part. The can was around $350 + transfer tax (I think... I've had that can for over 10 years now). You don't need to get something as expensive as an EoTech for a sight. I robbed this one from an AR15, since it was handy. I found a tool & die maker who threaded the barrel for next to nothing. I let him experiment on my barrel so he could decide if he wanted to get a DE and do one for himself. I'm not sure what he would charge to do another. WOW!
  3. i deprimed a few or more very carefuly, but when i start loading i do NOW like Sarge said cause you never know! good luck and be safe! oh ya why wait till xmass?
  4. I'm sure glad you realize that no question is too dumb to ask Thanks, I was actually putting the smooth side on like a lid I figured they would fly everywhere if not. Just tried it and it worked perfectly. Nothing better than "eureka" and feeling incredibly dumb. Thanks again why you!!!!! lol...
  5. it gets addictive! i also think im becoming a hordder! but not not like Cali and his 21 conversion kits he got!lol....
  6. Doesn't it feel like Christmas in the summer?!!! lol... it takes a few 100 rnds to get use to, just take your time and have fun and be safe.. its a nice little toy you got there!
  7. not one bit!!!! I am using dillon dies for my .40 cal's and not had one problem. but i did hear that if was to change my barrel i might, but i will worry about that when the time comes!!!
  8. I had the die set to size at max oal of 1.135 and it loads from 1.130 to 1.1395 I chambered checked the rounds and they drop in fine but not out...Is this a sizing issue or not enough crimp? And to make things worse I'm worried that I loaded them to hot and may go ahead and pull them. Hogdon lists the loading data for Universal as 5.0 to 5.8 max for 180gr. I loaded 180gr lead bullets at 5.2. But after looking at some other manuals they are calling 5.2 a max load for universal. Hornady says for 180gr 4.2 to 5.2 max and 180gr swc as 3.8 to 5.3. The Lee manual is more inline with the Hogdon info. Am I overthinking this? It can be your crimp! whats your crimp set at? and if your OAL is a little long, seat your bullet lower and drop your powder down a little.. how many manuals are you useing as referece? you gotta use more then just one, and go by your manual it should be fine! when you chamber check em, does it go down in all the way and when you try to take em out does it feel like there is a bit of a buldge at the lower part of the brass be for getting to the head stamp? +1 on on the sizing die set a notch above the plate. I also had and once in a while come across a problem loading for this cal....
  9. Oops I forgot to mention the xtp's are 230gr!
  10. @ Grump I feel the same way! What's that saying? "If it ain't broken don't fix it!" @ Noy I went to the range early this morning, I tried a 5 different loads and I kinda like the powder charge of 9.5 I'm going to lower it a few 10ths to lower some of the recoil, as for the Xtp's I had started at a low powder charge at 6.6 and I didn't get much recoil so imma up it by a few 10ths just to see what I get! Thanks for your Data what a pal!!
  11. +1 ain't nothing like popping open a freshly loaded full mag of "GLOCK" and smelling the fresh gunpowder! Lol.... Except for maybe getting blinded by the pimped out DE the guy in the shooting lane next to you has.... My vote would be for a G35, can be used in production (loaded down ammo), L10, or Limted. FWIW, I don't own a Glock, Springfield man here... LMMFAO!....
  12. Oh yah if I'm not mistaken I paid 6 dollars for my RCBS at cabela's!
  13. @ Sarge you are loco! Lol... I like running em by hand too, if you got the money I say get it! But the only down fall I don't like is that you can't run rifle brass through it!
  14. I think Dillon makes good progressive presses, I youtube some video's on the 650 and as I seen them changing calibers they seem to do mor disassembling then you would do on a 550.. And if I would to get a 650 it would be with the case feed and that alone takes more time converting over... i like my 550 it just seems more simple to use but if I need over 1000 rnds a week or less I would have gotten a 650! Untill then I'm more then comfortable....
  15. I also got an RCBS primer flip tray. I was talking with my wife about the Dillon tray and was going to buy it, but she gout one for me and when I see in I was thinking to myself; what kinda cheap piece of #!*@ is this? But I took it and tried it out and I still couldn't get the primers to flip! So I asked her where did she get this cheap piece of #!*@ from and as I was talking crap and shifting from side to side as I was talking crap and I stared to noticing that the primers started flipping the way the are suppose too I felt bad But thanked her for picking it out for me! So maybe you are shaking em and they might only need to be shifted like on a flat surfes side to side rotate and side to side!
  16. NICE! My DE is a older generation! Can I do the same with mine or add a compensated barrel? Ya how could you have missed this one? Is that your DE in your avatar?
  17. Well look at it like this Grump, when you retire you don't have far to go! He he... Picked up another manual Speers #14. Has more data on Alliant's Powders. And the background is well knowledgeable! You ever tried Blue Dot on any of your cal loads?
  18. +1 ain't nothing like popping open a freshly loaded full mag of "GLOCK" and smelling the fresh gunpowder! Lol....
