My first question is: how often is it necessary to thoroughly clean my 1911 pistol? I have heard it is unecessary to clean your pistol everytime you take it to the range-that 1911's are often ruined from taking them apart to often. I use slide glide on my pistol and everytime I get home from the range I clean the barrel out with a boresnake and then put it up until next time. Second question is: at what point should I have my gun maintenanced? Thanks and have a great day.
