  1. I used to put my gun in a soft sleeve, in my range bag. But, last summer I quit carrying around a large bag, full of stuff I never use. I now use a hard plastic case, for the gun, that costs around 10 ~ 12 dollars. An old, small camera bag full of tools stays in the truck. My new range bag is a small 5 compartment bag from Cabelas. I am much happier carrying just the things I need . . . ammo, magazines, timer, ear plugs, lens wipes, pen & pencil, note pad, gun rain cover, USPSA card, overlays and disposable hand warmers. It is all I need!
  2. Welcome to the forums, Kevin!
  3. The only one that can answer your question is HK.
  4. Second best, Sarge. My son-in-law lives in the county too
  5. Welcome to the forums! Buy yourself a reloading manual . . . any manual. I'm partial to Hornady but, they all do a good job of explaining the fundamentals . . . terminology and the like.
  6. Welcome to the forums, Don! I'm in the Malta-McConnelsville area, and shoot USPSA at Rayners Range (Blue Rock) and Briar Rabbit (Zanesville). 3 gun is kinda lacking, in SE Ohio. Rayners Range does it twice during the summer www.raynersrange.com. There are IDPA monthly matches in Marietta. I do not have a contact but, Tom or Carolyn Rayner can hook you up.
  7. Rayners first USPSA match of the year, this Sunday, January 17th. Side match: Combat Rifle Forecast: 26*, 30% chance of snow Will you freeze to death? I doubt it. Will your fingers go numb? I guarantee it. Would I rather be somewhere else? Hell no!
  8. What him said! And, don't try to move too fast. As already stated, dry fire this A LOT. That is how I mastered the process, and I often get positive comments on my ability.
  9. The CED 7000 is so compact and versatile. Mine is 6 years old, with zero issues. I recommend getting the sleeve / cover. I have dropped mine on concrete, accidentally, without damage (with the protective sleeve). I wear a pocket tee, during dry / live fire practice, as the timer fits perfectly in that chest pocket. The sleeve grips the shirt well, keeping the timer from bouncing out.
  10. I, personally, wouldn't be without one!
  11. I too can shoot at home, thank goodness. Over the years I have established a nice little range out back . . . 1 plate rack, 4 pepper poppers, 7 poppers and made my own (5) metric target stands. I buy metric targets (box of 50) from Shooters Connection. My timer of choice is the CED 7000. I wear pockets tee, exclusively, and it fits perfectly in the pocket.
  12. Thanks, but I'll stay with the throw aways.
  13. I, personally, do not give it any thought. I keep as much as I can afford. I prefer to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission
  14. What is your thermostat set on? Our home is 65* until we get out of bed. We sleep on a posturepedic covered with a sheet and electric blanket, spread removed. Wife's blanket set on 1 . . . mine off.
  15. Midway did not send me a birthday deal this year. Probably because I stopped buying from them 2 years ago.
  16. I like your idea, Kevin! I should engrave my comp with Super Senior, or maybe just Reshoot.
  17. Welcome to the forums, from Ohio!
  18. Same here. I tired of carrying around a 20 pound range bag. All tools are in a separate bag, in the vehicle. Shoot, i would have to walk to a safe area anyhow. Carrying around a small Cabelas bag is sooo nice!
  19. Brian's book is something you will read multiple times, like the others have mentioned. My first dry fire book was Refinement & Repetition, by Steve Anderson.
  20. What is old is new again!
