  1. Here's a thread you might find interesting: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42027 Carl edited to correct information
  2. What's wrong with FC? I've been loading it for some time now without knowing that it is a problem? I think this is the thread that it was discussed: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48762 Carl
  3. Man I miss the Springs USAF 1972-1976 at NORAD most of the time Carl
  4. Ok I must have missed something.. How do you know what they marked wrong once you submitted the exam? I just got my "Congratulations " letter. but they don't say what I missed or got right! Just curious Carl
  5. I had a similar issue on one of my open guns. It WAS working then just started stovepiping. Look at the underside of the Cmore. Does it look like the brass was hitting it? My issue was that the Ejector needed to be angled just a little more so that ejected brass would clear the Cmore. It was hitting it and bouncing back in the chamber. As you look at the ejector, make sure it's not broken.... If someone jammed in a magazine when the slide was open... Well let's say I've been there Carl (edited for clarity)
  6. Well I load 9mm Major, and I only use Dillon Dies. I do Case Gauge all rounds. Some fail, usualy because the BASE of the Brass is expanded. The Lee FCD I have does not fix that. I do reload some of my fired brass, and once I've culled out the initial ones that did not gauge, I don't have the same problem, and again I'm loading Major. I think you'd have even less problems since you are loading minor. So I'd say use what you have, and Case Gauge them just to be sure! Carl
  7. I'll wade in here with a quote: An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life. Beyond This Horizon - Robert A. Heinlein I really enjoyed his novels, although he DID get a little perverse in his older years. Was very sad that he passed a way. Sorry for the "drift" Carl
  8. Could the "different Look" be a a +2 rather than a +1? The +2 cannot be used on 170mm tubes because they will not fit the gauge. I have had the experience that SOME tubes fit right in, and SOME tubes needed modification. It's just a little dremmel job as you mentioned, and now they are fine. Now on the 140 Mags, you CAN use the +2. I can get 23 rounds in mine. I do have SV tubes , and some people report getting in more rounds with SV rather than STI tubes. Now I actually only load my tubes up to 20 or 21, (for ease of reloads) depending on the situation, and depend on my "big stick" if I need more. If you DO want to have more rounds in each mag, why not have 2 "big sticks"? Also, I HIGHLY suggest using the Grams Springs/followers. Once I started using them MANY problems disappeared. The mag thing can be sort of frustrating, but I can tell you that in open it's not going to be the MOST frustrating! Hope this helps Carl

    Computer Problems

Ahh I wish it were true, seems to be only partially... http://www.snopes.com/humor/business/wordperfect.asp I have had some calls where people WERE too stupid to own computers, and have actually had to ask them to get one of their "co-workers". Carl
  10. I kind of like my dentist.... http://smileatlanta.com/about.htm Carl
  11. Some info on it : http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42027 Carl
  12. I would not do it. Listen to Singlestack! It will not headspace properly. It'll be "hanging" on the Extractor and not properly seating on it's case mouth. Potentially an issue. I would not do it either! Carl
  13. I have seen them in Walgreens. They were under their own brand name. Mail order wise, you can get them from E. Arthur Brown. http://www.eabco.com/BifocalStickOn.htm Many thanks! The cheapest place I've found for these is : http://www.safetyglassesusa.com/searchresu...amp;query=optix Carl

    It's Settled

    now THAT is hilarious!!! Carl
  15. I checked with My Chrono data. In My Hardy open gun, I had to go to 9.3 of 3N38 to get to about 170pf, where I wanted to be so I had a comfortable margine. It was in colder weather though, so you may find a little different. The negative using 3N38 is the HUGE fireball that comes out of the comp. I have to admit, I do have SP2 that I am using now. Carl
  16. I'm in the same boat, have been for a few years. The conclusion I've come to is a difference between "fun shooting" and Competition. For Competition, It's OPEN all the way. Cmore, sights seem to work best for me too. For fun, Shoot what you want!!!!! Carl
  17. That is precisely how I have my 650 set up. Seating in Station 3. For 9x19 and 38 Super. LOTS of rounds made that way. I think you'll find that a lot of people do the same too. Carl
  18. 42 right? (sorry, couldn't resist) Carl
  19. HS6 worked well in mine too, I have 2 ports in my "shorty" I was able to make 170 PF with 8.5gr, Same kind of thing ... DEPENDING on Temp. In cold temps ( 30 degrees qualifies ) I had to go to 8.6 too Carl
  20. Since I have the "old Eyes" problem, I found some safety glasses that have the "bifocal" made ito them. Just the ticket for me! Carl
  21. Mine works well too. I use the Infrared screens often, when the sun is low, or if there are scattered clouds. It keeps errors from coming in through those variables. I would not buy one without 'em... Don't forget the Battery! Carl
  22. bp, Mine seemed to run lighter loads as it broke in. I don't know how many rounds yours has through it , but mine will run the 1250 fps 1 1/8oz #8 shot loads without a problem. I know it's not as light as you wanted, just thought I'd share what mine did. I've put about 500 rounds through it. Carl
  23. SWFA has them listed for $502.95 MidwayUSA shows 'em "coming" and lists them as $519.99 they also show: Field of View at 100 Yards: 109' @ 1x 32’ @ 4x CactusTactical? what are you guys going to sell them for? Carl
  24. You know, I guess when I asked Burris if it was a TRUE 1x they thought it was "close enough" even though I specifically asked, "it's not a 1.1X or 1.2X but a TRUE 1X ! - I knew someone here would have seen it up close and personal. I had really hoped it would be a good posibility since their scopes are made in the US. Thanks! Carl
  25. Looks like this scope came out earlier this year: Burris Euro Diamond 1- 4X- 3P#4 E-Dot 200968 I called Burris to see if the scope was a TRUE 1X. The guy I spoke to asked one of his engineers, and said that it is in fact a true 1X . It looked promising to me, and seems to be about $200 cheaper than the Meopta Meostar K-Dot. Anybody have any experiences with this one? Thanks, Carl
