There's a guy local to me that sells once fired, cleaned, and roll sized brass (your choice of headlamp) for 80 bucks per thousand, delivered to your door.
I've found Federal brass with .035 TK moon clips work best for my 929.
PM me if you want his contact info.
I use Federal brass with Blue Bullets 147, loaded on a Dillon 750 with a Lee U die. No bullet creep.

Agreed, once I stopped using factory ammo, and found that my gun had a .357 barrel, and started using BBI 147 bullets with Federal brass and TC .035 moon clips, mine ran like a Swiss watch.
Me? I think the comp is useless. So I load a heavy bullet going slow.
But if you want to use a comp you need a light bullet going fast. Probably a slow burning powder like AA#7.
My 929 barrel slugged at .357. It absolutely would not run with factory ammo.
I got massive bullet creep, light hits, and poor accuracy.
Now reloaded ammo with .358 bullets, Federal Small Pistol Primers, and a good crimp, work fine.
