I've got a 617 that spits lead, and is filthy to shoot. I also have a 1960 M17 that doesn't. I bought a little tool to check the forcing cones, before I send it in for gunsmithing. Here's the tool

The plated Berry's are .357, the coated Bayou are .358.

I'm shooting .38 short colt in a S&W 627, using 2.8gr of Clays. With a 160gr coated bayou bullet my average fps is 767. When I switch to Barry's plated 158gr (same profile, same oal) my average fps drops to 693. A drop of about 10%. Is that normal?

Other bullet manufacturers seem to be shipping products, it's just Bayou that's way behind. Maybe it's because they have a superior product?
