  1. Perhaps its a Wilson 40/10 mag! If so, I'd be interested in purchasing it from you.

  3. I screwed around with springs a lot in my SS 45 days. Ended up with a 15 lb mainspring and a 14 lb recoil spring. I liked the feel of the 12.5 lb recoil spring a little better, but reliability went to hell when the gun got dirty. Was using a single Wilson Shok-Buff.
  4. Just finished load development yesterday for this same exact application. Ended up with Starline 38 Super brass, 125 gr Zero JHP (same bullet I use for Open), Fed SP primer, 4.3 grs of N310, loaded to 1.248". Work up to this, the primers are fairly flat. SD's were around 12 fps. Avg velocity was 1067 fps. Good luck!
  5. Steve, Glad to hear it. I've been dealing with EGW for almost two years now, they've done work on six of my guns, three of which were complete custom jobs. Sometimes they make you wait for awhile, but the worksmanship is out of this world, and George really knows his stuff.
  6. It sounds like the video Max Michel has for sale on his website.
  7. I assume that's the titanium framed Caspian you are having built?
  8. A Caspian hi-cap in open predominantly. Les Baer singlestack 40 for Lim-10. Comped, scoped Colt singlestack 38 Super for steel, that is IF we had any steel shoots in my area....
  9. New website for Topton that includes a nifty calendar: http://www.toptonfga.org/
  10. Flex, Not sure I completely understand the problem with your current technique...are you saying that when the mag hits the gun you are pushing the gun up over your line of sight, thus obscuring your targets and causing the issue of getting back on target quickly?
  11. rishii, I was actually able to track Navidrex down in California and spoke with them. Apparently you need to order a bunch of grip panels (6 sets or more I think) for them to make a run for you.
  12. We'll soon find out Exactly! It's pretty nifty, especially if you're the kind of shooter who likes very little takeup in the trigger. I've played with it a bit, but I always seem to back it out in favor of some pretravel in the trigger.

  14. Thanks for the kind words guys. Steve, You're running a 7 lb? I'll have to give it a whirl. That grip tape came with the gun. It's old and there's not much gripping left to it. I talking with Gary @ Caspian about it yesterday, and you're right, he said he only has yellow grip tape. I'm contemplating going to grip panels to take out the flat feel and putting skateboard tape on the frontstrap and mainspring housing.
  15. Very nice! What gunsmith did the work? Who checkered the frontstrap? And what brand grips are you using and how do they feel?
  16. Thanks SiG Lady!! Caspian Open Gun, 38 Supercomp, built originally by Bruce Gray about 10 years ago, or so I am told, and recently rebuilt by EGW. EGW comp on a Nowlin barrel. 8 minute dot C-More on a Red Buff mount. Trigger is a nice 2 lbs, I tried it at 1.5 lbs but felt I didn’t have enough control. Although you can’t see it in this photo too well I filed the stock Caspian trigger down to an Enos style. The guide rod is hollow to reduce the weight. In spite of the guns heavy weight (45 oz, dubbed the boat anchor by my shooting buddy ) it balances nicely and swings like a fine shotgun. The dot tracks nicely, and easily stays within the scope through recoil. My load is a 125 gr Zero JHP at 1360 fps. I currently use a 10 lb recoil spring, and a 17 lb mainspring; am anxious to try a 9 lb recoil spring once I get used to the gun.
  17. Otto is still in business as a 'smith. In fact I've been trying to talk him into welding up a Caspian big stick for me.
  18. Slip, That's a good question, and my gut says "Yes, it's legal", but if I were you I would e-mail Richard H and ask him the question just to be sure.
  19. It's a gun lube: http://www.prostartechnologies.com/fire.html If you do a forum search on FP-10 you'll find lotsa stuff.
  20. Jack, I use FP-10 if it's real cold out.
  21. Dang Phil, that's a long trigger! Sweet gun though, can't wait to see you whoop ash with it!
