I do not use any crimp on any rifle load. Many thousands of rounds and no issues.

As you probably know, there are neck size only dies available. I tried them and went back to full case sizing using a bushing die. Your method does not bump back the shoulder and eventually this will lead to chambering problems. If you're working up loads, include Varget, SMK 175, and CCI BR-2 primers in your experiments.

I do use one of the presses you're considering, the Redding T-7, and I'm happy with the results. You only use two dies for rifle reloading so I have .223, 7mm-08, and .308 continously set up in my press. I weigh charges for my precision work and recommend the cheapo Lee Perfect Powder measure for the initial charge and then trickle in the balance.

I use Imperial sizing wax as mentioned above. Use very sparingly and you don't have to clean it off. I use One shot for higher volumn 223 cases and then tumble off when I'm through but you have to make sure no media is in the flash hole. Dillon lube is very messy but does work if used heavily enough.

I shot the match today with the ROs. Good weather, used 215 rounds but I'm old and slow and usually aim. There are canopys over all stages so you shouldn't get wet while waiting to shoot or shooting. Will be ROing tommorow. See you all then. Bill L

New Holland Rifle and Pistol Club http://www.nhrpc.org/index.html has added a Practical Carbine and Precision program this year. I don't know anything about it other then it seems similar to the program run at Langhorne PA. New Holland has ranges to 600 yards. I shoot their 600 yard prone F Class matches occasionally.

When I wa trying light loads, I found a 125 Sierra SP over 46.0 of Benchmark worked pretty well.

95% of the time I use IC. If its all close clay birds, I would use Skeet. For longer clay birds (35-40 yds) I would switch to M. Also for long heavy steel I would use M. Choke is inches.

The stages are starting to appear on the Obcats website. Looking at the slug standards, I don't think they like Benelli shooters.

Some of my clays guns have mid-beads and I never notice them while shooting. I have shot my 3-gun Benelli several times on trap, skeet, and sporting clays with both an 18", 21", and 26" barrel (same gun). All were fun. I remember one night at trap when I shot better with my Benelli then with my Browning 425 and also have shot better skeet with the Benelli with a 22" barrel then my 32" Beretta 682 Gold O/U. Go for it. I also have more rounds through my Benelli then any of my current clays guns. That might be the key.

I've used the DMW part for many years with no problems.

If you're in the NE and like to shoot shotgun, you should not miss this match. According to Jim, this is the 6th match. I've shot the first 5 and all were good matches.

Regarding installation, The first one I did in a BM lower took forever, probably had the trigger in and out 10 times. However, once properly set, it has shot many thousands of rounds without adjustment. The second I got right in about 3 trys. Long story short, the low fee and 2 week turn around from JP is worth it.
