  1. DW, I see you have Black Berry now and may stick with the "Smartphone" Maybe I can help... What do you plan to do with you mobile/cell phone other than voice and/or text messaging? BB strengths are email/enterprise email. Business use, Personal or combination? Browse Web? Open spreadsheets? Open Docs? Calendar / scheduling use? Social networking (other than be.com)? Watch videos? Games? Carriers offer a few different types of OS based on consumer needs/ preferences. Answering those questions will help you find the best one. Then later this year 4G will be released to certain areas, perhaps hang tight till then to make a decision .... edit: Just noticed you picked up the HTC... i'm a bit late in reading ... Enjoy it, great device..!!!
  2. Jim built the beavertails byhand-welding up stock ones- he was a frigging artist...way before the curve. Definitely! I remember as a teen learning about IPSC in early 90's and his guns were ALWAYS on cover of American Handgunner. Jim Boland, was an metal artist and his medium was the 1911... Brings back memories. Open guns back then were : Single Stack, Bomar Comped pistols. in 38 super...
  3. Sup guys! What do you think of this mod we did tonight? Going to test it out tomorrow at our club match.
  4. It doesn't have to be on a single stage press, but if you look on how it's set up w/ the case collector on top, it is the best solution to have on separate press. The Single stage LEE was only $28....
  5. Thank you B and G-man.. I "ll give that a try!!

  8. Good idea! I see the gear works well for you..... Can't beat Cheap and Good.....
  9. Good question.... I have a RL550 to load my cartridges. I purchased the single stage as Step 1 and push through size all the cleaned, lubed 40 brass prior to starting load on 550. This process almost guarantees each round to pass the case gauge.
  10. Flex, I caught myself focusing on dot.... big no no... More practice eh? Thanks for your help.
  11. Hi all 40 S&W reloaders! I just mounted up this Lee kit and it sizes all the "Glocked" Brass perfectly. Sized, unloaded Brass cleanly fits in my CP Bullets chamber gauge I purchased: LEE FCD Bulge Buster Kit (with Container) Lee Reloader Press Cull piece of 2x4 from Home Depot Associated Hardware Alot cheaper than the Redding solution. 12. Good morning all!! I've been browsing the other member's posts and came to realization about my shooting. Recently, my club comrades have noticed I shoot considerably slower now shooting Open compared to Limited. Granted, my stage times are similar or faster and I'm getting good hits. ( So what's the problem?) Another buddy and I had a short training session at a range and timed my transitions to targets are slower now with the "Dot". Am I diagnosing it correct in terms of "Dot Fixation"? ( I'm waiting too long for a steady dot before breaking the shot?) Limited, I was using a Fiber optic front sight..... Thanks in advance for your advice...
  13. Evening all. I just got a FB update for this new mount. http://www.doublealpha.biz/sights/mounts/sc-tanfoglio-cmore-mount DAA mount Anybody get it yet? I'm diggin it, I'm still using Tasco PDP3 and considering moving to CMORE with this mount. Edrick

  15. Happy B day Nick, Hope we see you at Norco and Prado soon!!
  16. Great looking pistol! Please help me out guys.. Rich is from? Website? Thanks! I'm a Tanfolio/P9 fan myself.
  17. Ok, looks like it is a very volatile subject. I appreciate all the input and thoughts. Please help me why this thread has points stating ULSC is "timed" event??? I can also see the act of the rack and catch can be showboating. Granted, I have seen some shooters at my club almost help the live cartridge out of the chamber by almost tossing the pistol upward. Now that, is unsafe due to not pointing the pistol in a safe direction. If the shooter is: right handed points downrange, safely cants or rotates pistol 90 degrees to left so the grip is parallel to ground. Smartly racks the slide with opposite, left, hand and live round travels upward... Left hand releases slide and strong hand STILL pointed safely downrange and not moving. Catch the live round . then Pull the slide back again to present RO "clear". Where in this process, with given unsafe gun handling rules, is Unsafe? Sorry to keep drilling, but I don't see actually rule breaking yet. I ask because I help run a monthly match and I want to be able to offer reasoning and actual rule infraction vs. Opinion. The live round detonation while clearing is plenty of reason for me not to do it, I can see where this act still falls within the gray areas of the rules Thanks
  18. Hi folks! I just wanted to bring this up topic up since I'm guilty of it.... What ever division I shoot, production, Limited, and Open. After some logical advice, how do you Unload and show clear? During my early days shooting Open Iron sighted pistols, this process was after the stage run: 1. Drop magazine, Hold the removed magazine in my strong hand pinky, while holding pistol in strong hand. (Learned it from the TGO and other OG shooters 2. Weak hand grasping rear of slide while cupping ejection port to retrieve live round. 3. Hold slide back or slide stop, show RO empty chamber 4. Slide forward by releasing slide stop while pointed down range ( after inspection clear) 5. Squeeze trigger, hammer down ( down range) 6. Holster I was told the possibility of primer striking extended ejector could ignite a round while outside chamber ( I witnessed this while a fellow friend/shooter was clearing) I quickly stopped that. Nowadays.. with Iron sighted or Scoped pistol....... Step 2. Rack live round into the air and catch live round with weak hand while pistol in strong hand is still pointed safely downrange. Then proceed to step 3-6 Is this Unsafe? I was told is safe because the pistol is POSITIVELY clears and ejects the live round and shooter retrieving live round before hits the ground. Mind you we are around alot of IPSC/USPSA shooters and common practice. Tactical classes I took scolded me for that stating "Unsafe" Thoughts? TIA
  19. Well said, Chris! Plus, Las Vegas is "THE" Destination, agree? It's like.. "Oh hunny, I have shooting tournament to enter in October." She replies, " Where?".. Then you exclaim, "VEGAS!" Enough said.
  20. Two Delta, Great Analogy....I totally dig that, especially being in automotive aftermarket in the past.
  21. I just got my Open gun back from the 'smithy, from 9x21 to 9x19 for obvious reasons, it's a P9/Tanfolio. I did it because of the once fired I find plentiful. One of the GM's at my club moved back to 38S from 9major because he found it flat/soft shooting with his load / comp combination. In fact, he moved from STI/SVI to Caspian wide body. I'm personally not at that level of shooting to notice the difference, perhaps one day I will.
  22. eerw, I totally remember. OOOOOOHH! Three port comp.. "Why don't we make it 4 port?" I asked my gunsmith, He replied, "You don't need it, there's no more gas hon that last port" Show's me the compensator.. "See, the last of the three ports has no lead in it!" Funny the 5-chamber 5-port comp and the 6-chamber 8-port would still flame cut the baffles, there was plenty gas. remember we didn't have as many cool powders back then. I can remember loading blue dot and when AA7 was big deal. Robbie shooting jacketed 130FMJ was HUGE!!! Remember using 135 gr Hard cast lead from Bonus Bullets or Surefire, shooting 9x21 at 180 PF.... Was saving the D&J bullets 135gr fmj for "big matches"...... Yup AA7 was the hot ticket.....

  24. Pics/Vids and scores are up on www.prg-ipsc.com Thanks Prado Shooting park for hosting the BBQ! Prado Running Gun
  25. +1 for Glock 35 <-----I use for Limited +1 for 92fs <--- Production/Carry/IDPA SSP +1 on your P226 shoot what you have! Just use the difference to buy/reload ammunition The more trigger time you get the better, the new skills and training you attain, it will easily transfer over to the other types of pistols/divisions. It's not the gun, it's the shooter. That's the beauty of IDPA and Production, no need for fancy gear( unless should you decide to go Open) As you move to other divisions, go ahead and get the right tool for the job.
