  1. And the same in Norway It looks the same over here in The Netherlands.
  2. Bjorn, I will have to (respectfully ... ) take exception to some of the above. If you have followed the discussion (dating back to april) on this subject at the GV, you'll have noticed that the very initial proposal didn't came out of the blue, and it did came right from the beginning as aimed to all divisions. It was april when it was first announced it was going to be brought to the attention of the Assembly. Now, I agree that being IPSC president has some advantages that may be negated to IPSC members, i.e. being able to ask a motion to be added to the agenda without this having to be submitted to a RD, but I don't think this is really outrageous. Moreover, if anybody has a proposal, all he has to do is to have his regional Director to forward it for inclusion in the agenda. Well, it's hard to disagree with the above, so I won't I didn't catch the "aimed at all divisions" part.
  3. I agree with everything you say (especially the civil manner thing ) But the text quoted is something I have to respectfully disagree with. For some time now, some people, and in particular Vince Pinto, have looked for ways to deal with the capacity issue in Production (which is very good, IMO!) There have been some great suggestions that were worth a good discussion and had a pretty good chance of winning over the majority of IPSC shooters (limiting magazine capacity or introducing the box rule come to mind). But now, pretty much out of the blue, this certain proposal is suggested for all divisions. And it is suggested not only out of the blue, but also by the IPSC President. I think it's a shame some other proposals don't make their way out of the discussions at the Global Village to the GA. Yet a proposal from above makes it's way to the GA without checking if there is any moral basis amongst the shooters. And all we can do in this case, is say yes or no to proposals from the chief. I do not find this very democratic.
  4. Luca, I honestly believe for some stages/shooters it will be more worthwhile to eat the one or two penalties for not reloading at all on super high hitfactor stages... This of course depends on the stage design, but -10 vs. +20 for shooting 4 A's in the time it takes to reload is easy math Hell, don't worry about that Spook... we'll just rewrite the way we score to compensate. LOL! Or we could go the FTDR route. That worked out just fine didn't it...?

  6. A lot of people confuse strength with tension. If you are very strong you can keep the gun down and still be relaxed. If you are weak, you can't. Get stronger.
  7. I can't see a reason to chamfer either. Chamfering helps with fast reloads. .22s are a pain to reload anyway. I would just leave it like it is.
  8. I have always loaded on Dillons (SDB and 650). And I have used their CV-500 tumbler and separator. All great stuff (of course ) I started shooting again after a 2 year layoff and switched to another Dillon SDB and decided to save some money on the tumbler. I bought a Frankford Arsenal tumbler and separator combo. So for I really like it, compared to the Dillon. I see no difference in performance. Brass comes out really shiney. The separator is smaller, which I like. It all feels a little less in quality. The Dillon stuff was thick plastic and it felt "solid and expensive". The Frankford feels a little more like cheap and brittle plastic, but again, there's no difference in performance. I haven't tumbled a lot yet (maybe 5K 9mm), so I can't say anything about durability yet.
  9. So you have a 1050 that is not being used... That's like having a sober clone of Lindsay Lohan lying around the attic somewhere, unused... How ever nice it is a man only needs so much at any one moment.... I wholeheartedly disagree

  11. Always before the big match....
  12. Dryfire is one of those things twhere a revolver really shines. The DA pull will stay the sam from shot to shot. Play around with different ways of pulling the trigger. Eventually, you want to be able to pull the trigger any which way and not disturb the sight picture.
  13. LOL that cracked me up. If you want a STEEL gun, get an STI, huh?
  14. Why not get one gun to start with? The G34 and the G17 are pretty similar. I'd just buy one and see if you like the platform.
  15. Try to import one from Europe. Even with the high Euro it is worthwile. I saw one for €200 the other day (M13). That's about $300. That was a pretty low price, but they can be bought for $600 all day long. I have owned a P7M13 and there were things I liked and didn't like. I would never carry one. It is the most accurate 9mm I have ever shot, despite the short sight radius. The reason it is so controllable is because it is pretty heavy and sits very low in the hand, because of the striker mechanism and the gas system.
  16. Don't worry too much about developing bad habits. Try to focus on developing the good ones. There's a world of difference between these two approaches good luck and welcome!
  17. I've asked this question before. I also suffer this symptom when training for a long time. It is HARD to stay interested for a long period of time. The trick, I think, is to "stay hungry". I try not to practice the day before. And on match day, I am aware from the walkthrough to the end of the shooting. Between stages, I want to keep my mind off the shooting as much as possible. At least, I don't want to force myself into thinking about shooting.
  18. I don't think I will ever love any gun as much as a nice S&W DA revolver. I made the switch back to autoloaders about 6 months ago, after a layoff of almost 2 years. I like shooting in general, so it's great fun. The Glock is a great gun. But I notice I am still drawn to S&W revolvers. The only revo I have left is a 4" 617 and as a gun, I like it so much better than my Glock. It's aesthetically (sp?) pleasing, heavy, accurate, reliable. And it has that X-factor (as do a lot of S&W revolvers) that just makes it a "cool" gun. I have been lloking at a really nice target model 14 6" that's laying around in a gunstore for $150. It's probably as accurate as $1500+a S_I. That's also what I love about these revolvers. I think revolvers are more or less regarded as being obsolete, because it has little or no place in the games we play, compared to autoloaders. And often, our games are regarded as a mirror of "the real world". But in the real world there are no 32 round field courses... I think revolvers still have a purpose and I wouldn't hesitate to have one as a carry gun.
  19. I found that it's not just "anticipating recoil", but often also wanting to control recoil with the whole hand, including the trigger finger. Especially with the first shot. With the first shot, you go from a light grip, where the goal is to get the gun in the right position, to a firmer grip where you have to control the gun during firing. The transition between these two phases is where things went wrong for me.
  20. Shouldn't the swager have taken care of the primer pocket?
  21. When I read the Topic title, I though it was about guys who completely shave off their eyebrows. Glad to hear it's just the unibrow removal.
  22. I like it, although there's another way to explain that quote, which I don't like
  23. That is exactly what I did to my Glock (Ameriglo sights, .25ct Trigger job and TruGrip, oh and lots of Dryfire ) I use TruGrip as well. It's the best grip tape, IMO and I've tried a few brands. The only modification I do to it is that I cut of the front strap part, to make my draw easier. Stippling is very nice, but it is hard to modify once you find areas you would like changed. Also, it WILL become dull after a while. It's easier to stick a new piece of grip tape on the grip than it is to re-stipple... just some thoughts.
