  1. Yeah, and you also get the highest hitfactor if you shoot in control, but sometimes it's just fun to see how fast you can go In the end, it doesn't really matter unless you shoot a LOT of rounds. When I hear people say: "Man, I can load a hundred rounds in 5 minutes with the new 1050 with the KISS, and it took me at least 10 minutes on the 650!", I always scratch my head... Off to load 100 rounds (in as much as 12(!!!) minutes... )
  2. In USPSA I can't really think of a reason either. In IPSC, where the first shot has to be 5lbs. it makes sense.
  3. Happy Birthday from a Bottomfeeder to a Wheelgunner
  4. I saw it yesterday with my dad. The end left me breathless. What a perfect movie. I have been thinking about it since I left the theater. What it all means. The key moments and the fantasic monologue
  5. FWIW, riding the release with the strong thumb made my reloads a tad faster
  6. I use almost the same grip. The differences are forced by the shape and grip angle, but I use a thumbs forward on my revolver and on my Glock. Be careful that you don't extend your thumbs beyond the cylinder. I've never had any trouble at all, but I've read some nasty stories on these forums about guys getting gas blasts to their thumbs. I don't know how they managed to do that though. I have very long fingers and I can't get my thumb extended beyond the cylinder face. I've never had a problem with it.
  7. A little off topic, but a +1 to reloading 100 rounds per day (unless you shoot more than 700 per week of course) every day. No matter what press you have, reloading 100 round every day will build you a nice stash and it doesn't become as tedious as a long session.
  8. Jerry made his own from dowels. Look like a crappy woodshop project that got an F, but they work
  9. I notice a difference in all the S&W revolvers I 've had between a right hand trigger pull and a left hand trigger pull. When I pull the trigger with my right hand, I can make it the cylinder stop engage the cylinder before the hammer falls. When pulling the trigger left handed, that's more difficult to do. Most of the time the hammer falls and the cylinder stop engages the cylinder slot simultaneously. I have never seen the problem you have, but I certainly believe this can happen. You can put a lot of leverage on the trigger to one side, and change the functioning of the gun when doing so.
  10. I CAN load 100 rounds in under 10 minutes on a Square Deal B. Time starts when I enter my reloading room. But I usually take it down a notch and just go for good quality ammo and load at an average rate of 400-500 per hour.
  11. Let alone 2 C's on a target with minor... Wow, that would be a 40% speed incrase to just break even...! Am I correct in assuming (there's that damn word again) that the 95% is referring to my actual points on the stage rather than my awarded stage points? Bruce Bruce, yes, sorry I didn't clarify. I meant 95% of the available points you can shoot. That's the only objective parameter a shooter can influence when shooting a stage. How well you do to other shooters, is something that you, as a shooter, can't influence directly.
  12. You will kick so much ass if you shoot 95% of the available points... for the entire match. You will have to be consistant throughout the match. Stick with shooting points and have the balls/patience to stick to just that. Many shooters will stick to their points strategy and somehow have a moment of weakness, throw a mike/penalty or even a couple of D's and this nullifies the whole previous strategy of getting the points in reasonable times.
  13. LOL, I haven't exactly seen gas prices drop lately (or ever).
  14. I also have shots spreading laterally, sometimes... I use a .090" FS in a .150" notch on a G17 sight radius. Next time on the range I'll try the "deliberate misallignment drill". Shoot the target with the FS in the extreme right, left, low and high positions of the notch, while keeping it in the notch. This will hopefully show me how much of an error margin I have. Sometimes, I catch myself pulling the trigger when the FS is in the notch, but not really centered. This way of shooting is more sensitive to bad hits when your FS is thinner, compared the the width of the notch.... At least that is what logic tells me.

In a world where the richest people are still unhappy and unsatisfied with any material posession, and the majority of people is still trying to follow in their footsteps, I think that is pretty great actually Brought a smile to my face at least.
  17. Well, I live in a country that's about the size of NH and VT combined with 16 million citizens and good public transportation. And not having to drive doesn't apply here I can't even imagine not having a car in the US I know my next car will be one of those funky hybrids!
  18. I didn't know howmuch a US Gallon was exactly and I recalled it was about 3.8 liter. $8.55 is the price per 3.8 liter. The liter price is about E1.50 or about $2.25 Still a lot though. I'm glad my boss pays my fuel
  19. We're around $8.55 over here. A Dillon 1050 is under $1K though, so that evens it out for me
  20. Well, gee, spook, you're starting to sound like this guy: Look for the person who will benefit is something Lenin said. Sometimes it makes things easy, sometimes it doesn't. Some well know world leader=Oil dollars. Starts a big war in oil-country. Oil prices skyrocket. Who gets the dollars? It's not so bad to pay a few $s more to refuel your car if you get paid billions in the other pocket Gotta go put my tin foil hat on too...
  21. A few people get rich(er) with the oil prices rising like this. Some of them are so powerful they can influence the prices with international politics. Look for the person who will benefit...
  22. I would have done nothing.
