  1. +1 on Doug Carden. Looking is most important, but don't just stare. You have to mentally figure out how the clips and the holes are alligned, so you can visualize a succesful reload before it happens. By "realizing" what you see you will somehow create a bridge between what you want to happen and what is happening at the present time. A trick I used was grabbing the clip so I "feel" the position of two of the bullets. I also look at the two holes these bullets will go in. Two is an easy number to see quickly and also enough to have a perfect allignment. I hope this makes sense...
  2. FWIW, the belt is just a tad wider, making the pouches and holsters fit tight. I had some minor shifting with my CR-Belt and CR-Holster after thousands of draws. The DAA-belt shouldn't have this. I have no experience though.
  3. I hate stages like that. We SHOOT, we don't play memory... How about this: At the beep: Throw a dice, look at the number, multiply it by four, and that's the number of the target counted from the right you will have to start on. After engaging this target, skip one, engage one, skip two, engage one, etc., until you have engaged all 16 targets... Whatever happened to shoot 'em as you see 'em?
  4. Welcome Aren't the -8's already chamfered? If not, YES, it makes a huge difference. When reloading a 625 you don't push the clips in, you let gravity do it's job. It helps tremendously to chamfer the chargeholes.
  5. Wow! And by quite a margin! That's some great shootin', congrats! B)B)
  6. I'm interested in what others have to say too. I think I have the same thing going on sometimes. My left eye also has better vision.
  7. Got my brand-spanking-new Vibra Prime in the mail today. Awesome little thingy. I can't believe they stopped making them... I'd better order an extra one...

    Skiing

I spent a week in the Land of Glock and Swarovski and I had a blast. It was my first time skiing, ever. Man, that's a fun pastime. Going downhill FAST! Absolutely awesome! Definately NOT the last time for me

    "Tactical"

A pair of rainbow suspenders (and if possible) matching spandex pants...?
  10. I agree, but still. The prices of components have gone up dramatically. Everything over here is about 30% more expensive over the last 2 years... I wonder how long it will take until they find an alternative/solution for this crap. I don't think they have to figue anything out except that the people will pay for it so even if cost goes down in the future the prices will stay high. Just like gasoline, if oil went down th 35.00 a barrel, I think gas would still be over 1.99 gallon or more. Yes, but they're switching to hybrids etc. I expect no more gasoline cars somewhere in 2050, maybe earlier. They should come up with a "heavy artificial projectile" we can use as bullets. Polymer bullets

  12. This feels a bit weird ... me trying to give advice to a EU champion and 3rd overall at WS XIV ... ... but ... if the table is close enough to the door, you could overswing your left hand upon opening the door (which appears to be hinged on left side), grab the mag you strategically placed on the left forward edge of the table, and reload while crossing the door. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't have gone to the EC or the WS. Somehow, thinking I could shoot because I won a medal, initiated a huge period of stagnation in my shooting skills. And you haven't seen me shoot live, remember. I suck, trust me! Especially when it comes to shooting autoloaders and figuring out ways to shoot stages. Well, so much for strengthening my mental game for today Your suggestion sounds great. If the door is close to the table, I could also grab my mag, open the door end continue to reload, depending on the position of the targets I have to engage, once I go through.
  13. Yup, the red area is probably the shooting area. I thought I'd start on the right and reload from the table as I move to the door. It kind of sucks that there's a door, because I'll either have to open it, go reload, and go in. Or, reload, open it and go in. I hope I can engage enough targets from the first shooting position (way to the right) to do the reload immediately after that. In the mean time, a buddy of mine is working on a cool magnet pouch (kind of like the one Saul sells, but cooler ). That might help, although I will hate myself for looking at equipment solutions to compensate my lack of skill I'm going to do the "put the mag in the pouch" drill in Dryfire for sure! Can't hurt to be good at that, even if it will only shave a couple of tenths of my "unload and show clear" time
  14. Man, I have shot a LOT of rounds through my 625 that way... Glad I never tried that 500 when I had the chance!
  15. If you have a lot of $$$ into the Glock platform, going with a CCF sounds logical to me.
  16. Thanks for the replies so far guys. I will load from the table if possible. That seems like a big advantage and is something I hadn't really thought of. The stage descriptions over here are very archaic. So I'd like to discuss the options if I can't reload from the table. This is the info I have, plus a start position in Dutch: Julien/Stefano, Do you really think stuffing the mag into the gun, then putting the mag in the pouch and racking the slide is faster? I thought that would be the slowest option, because you have to: Grab a magazine and go to the gun, go back to the table, go to the belt, go back to the gun, shoot. I would think that grabbing a magazine, stuffing it on the belt and grabbing the second one (that goes in the gun) will get you moving earlier. Luca's option, grabbing both mags and stuffing the first one on the belt seems even faster. But it will also depend on the distance to the table, methinks? If the table is close to the first shooting position there's no need to get moving fast...
  17. LOL, just don't get frustrated. You're a very good shooter and you'll fihure this out. Have you tried Eric's Trugrip? It is really cool stuff and somehow, because it gives an all around grip, it makes the grip feel thicker. After I'm done experimenting with my nekkid Glock, I'll slap another piece of Trugip on it. Funny thing about the camming and the elbows. I have found the exact same thing. I can get a much better weak hand grip if I turn my elbows doen and in, but it makes me look like Angus It also makes the gun move up and down more, because my elbows will pivot more.
  18. I have a match coming up with a 20 round stage. IPSC Production division with a Glock 17. The stage requires the shooter to place the gun and all mags he wishes to use during the stage, on a table. So I have to load the gun and get an extra mag on my belt (I have 17 rounds in the mag and the stage is 20 rounds minimum). How would you start? Load the gun grab the mag and stick it in the pouch? The other way around? Let's hear it. Any other cool/weird solutions are more than welcome
  19. I think many people confuse strength with tension. Some guys can put 150lbs. of pressure on the gun and be totally relaxed. Others can't even put 100lbs. of pressure on the grip without strain. If you have a strong grip, you can keep the gun down better, but being relaxed gives you the dexterity in the trigger finger. I started doing grip training again just for this. Just my 2cts.
  20. Crap, I just ordered one of those (along with a Brand-spankin'-new Frankfort Arsenal VIBRA-PRIME, just throwing that out there, Merlin, ZHunter... ) Most guys here are raving (as far as that happens over a tumbler) about the Big Dillon CV-2001. Yeah I thought it was a good deal when I first got it but not if I have to replace the thing every 4000 rounds I am fairly new to reloading and I did not know if this was common or not? I read up on the Frankfort Arsenal Tumblers and it seems like they're hit or miss in quality. Did you contact the store where you bought it?
