  1. I just ordered some 147's from Donnie week before last, I ordered on Monday and he said he didn't have any but would run some in a couple days and they were on my porch the next Monday. I haven't had a chance to load any and but did load some of the 230RN that I got with the same order and shoot them in my 625 and with the limited testing I've done so far I'm impressed. I ordered another 1K of the 230's and 1K of the .358 160RN for my 686 two days ago. He is in the middle of upgrading equipment and the website but he's very good about repling to emails and is also great to talk to over the phone if you can get him. 2. Me too! The JM grips had to go, may be ok for minor pf but a no go for me shooting ESR. The Houge X frame grips feel good and are cheap, they will work fine till something better comes along.
  3. Happen to have a phone number or email address or some form of contact info? Or is he still not taking orders? I talked to Donnie a few days ago and ordered some bullets. Bayou Bullets / 225-324-4501 / bayoubullets@yahoo.com He's a busy guy right now redoing the shop and making bullets and is in the process of getting the website updated and back on line. Greg
  4. +! And is this the same lot of powder?
  5. I haven't used any Unique in years so I can't give a great opinion one vs the other but I am guessing if your looking for 125,000 power factor 3.9 TG would be a good place to start. I haven't loaded any 9mm with unique in almost 20 years. I shoot a lot of 124 MG's and I have Unique on hand I may have to load a few for the heck of it. Greg

    KKM barrel!

I have a KKM barrel in my M&P I use for IDPA, it probably has 8 or 10 thousand rounds thru it and has done great. It does have a tight and short chamber, some rounds that case gauge fine won't go in the chamber very well and with 124 MG's 1.080 is a long as I can go. I thought about reamer the chamber but it's a nice barrel as is and I just gauge all my match (or most anyway) with the barrel. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another KKM barrel and would recommend them to a Friend. Greg
  7. Jess, I do know one person that uses a small concrete mixer and crushed walnut, I'm not sure but I guess it would work wet or dry depending on the media? The one he was using is only 2 or 3 feet tall. Maybe some kind of tub with a frame covered with hardware cloth or other wire mesh to use to dump the mixer into? Food for thought maybe? Hopefully someone who's done it will chime in. Greg
  8. I clipped the spring and installed the thrust washers on mine and it made a huge difference. I'm loading anywhere from 4 to 4.5 of TG or N320 depending with little or no spillage. Clipping the detent spring and keeping the shell plate as tight as possible and still move freely will help and the thrust bearing mod helps even more. Greg
  9. I may be mistaken but I thought the only way to go up in classification is by shooting the classifier or by match bump if there are enough shooters. Greg
  10. I had the same problem with the stock M&P because the trigger seems to break hard and it has quit a bit of overtravel, the Apex sear seems to fix this. Greg
  11. 4.3 or 4.5 TG and a 200gr LSWC is a nice load but probably won't make major pf, depending on the gun 4.8 to 5.0 TG will make major.
  12. You will find tons of info here, about every thread on 9mm load data will have something. That said my IDPA / general use load is 4.0 / 4.1 N320 with a Montana Gold 124JHP. A charge of 3.9 / 4.0 Titegroup works well also and is cheaper, the only reason I use N320 is because it's a little cleaner.
  13. I have played with a couple M&P's and Apex parts and they were pretty consistent as far as results. With the Apex sear and and rounding and polishing the stock firing pin block and using all stock springs they were 3 3/4 lbs and with the complete Apex comp kit they were 2 3/4 lbs. Good luck and YMMV!
  14. I believe the Dillon powder check dies works off of the height of the powder charge only and the wrong case wouldn't cause it to alarm as long as the powder charge was the correct height.

    Procedural?

Agree with Strick and say yes with out a doubt. Greg
  16. I've heard good reports on it and have been wanting to try it but haven't as of yet.
  17. IDPA doesn't divide by 1000 even though most people abbreviate it. Greg
  18. Jess, I just picked up a new 625 yesterday and it is the same way, the sides of the lands look like they are about 45 degrees with no defined angles. I was trying to decide wether or not to use lead sice I had cleaning it out of a revo, looks like I may go straight to jacketed or plated.
  19. From the rule book. Greg GENERAL MATCH INFORMATION Targets: All targets are painted white and will be re-painted prior to each contestant’s first run on each course of fire. All round targets, except for the Pendulum, are 5′ high to the top of the target and all rectangles are 5′6″ to the top of the target (as set by a transom from the shooter’s box). Pendulum has two round targets that are 6’ to the top of the target. All course designs and measurements are “approximate” with slight variations possible.
  20. I may be mistaken but I think it is 4.2" for the revo's. I think there is a GP100 that's about 4.2 and I think S&W is coming out with one but as usual I may be wrong. Greg
  21. I use them in .22, .308 and .270 for my 6.8, once you get them set I think they work great.
