  1. I was watching the show "Fringe" a few weeks ago, and the security guard fired his glock 4 or 5 times before it went dry. And how did we know if went dry? Did the slide lock back? No, the gun went "click, click, click." Even my revolver only goes "click" once.
  2. In limited, there are a variety of 6,7, and 8 shot revos. The stages are supposed to be designed to be 6-shot neutral. If the stage designers are foloowing the spirit of the rules, there will be no 8-shot friendly designs. That being said, when you are shooting steel, 2 extra shots is obviously an advantage.
  3. That's what I did. $38 to have him install the new blade, and it's as good as a millet at half the price. 1/3 of the LPA price. SDM super sight on the front is the way to go also!
  4. .38 long colt brass from Starline 3.0 Grains of Clays 170 grain moly-coated lead round nose Billy Bullets or Bear Creek makes power factor with a nice push--not snappy like my old load with 130s
  5. Bob is also a generous sponsor of ICORE. He even sent me a free t-shirt because I was the prize coordinator. You should see this t-shirt. It has a hand grenade on it with the logo USPHGA United States Practical Hand Grnade Association. "Close Enough" LOL Thanks, Bob!
  6. I have the same problem on my G34. I originally had the Dawson adj rear and .285" FO front sight on my G17. Then I switched the sights to my G34, and it was hitting 8" high. So I proceeded to brake the head off the screw trying to get the rear sight lower. Dawson was very cool about that and sent me a new screw. They also recommended a .300" front sight. I purchased and installed a .300" front sight, and now I am only hitting 4" high with a carefully bottomed out rear screw. I didn't know there was antyhting taller at the time, but I also intend to carry it in a Blade-Tech or Ky-Tac holster (I don't remember which I have.) Any suggestions?
  7. Browning Buckmark--accurate, great grip angle (unlike the Ruger), easy to mod (tactical Solutions barrel)
  8. When I took my gun back East this summer, the airline said it would not sell me any insurance for my gun, so I called my homeowners insurance company. They said that if my gun was stolen, it was covered by my homeowners policy; but if the airline lost it, it was not covered. They sold me a $2000 valuable property policy that covered the cost of my gun for only $30/year. It covers me even if I leave the gun at the range or drop it in the ocean. Not that I was planning to do that or anything. Anyway, it was definitely worth the peace of mind!
  9. When did you buy, when it was $20 August of 2007? This is the highest it's been in over a year other than a week or so at almost $7.00 in April. I bought my first shares of SWHC when they were $.98. Then I bouhgt more a few months ago when they were $3.00. I wish all my stocks were "in the crapper." like S&W.
  10. I tried the insta mold kind, but they block too much sound when you have them all the way in. They also make my head feel "stuffy." I also tried the Surefire, but I didn't feel like it blocked enough noise. The string on a set of foam plugs drives me crazy because it rubs on my collar and transmits that sound to my ears--irritating. I am intrigued by the Peltor double end ones, but I have a pair like it and they really suction into your ear canal. Sorry I sound so negative, but I have the same frustration. Right now I am using my Dillon electronic ear muffs, but they are also annoying for rifle shooting. Let us know what you find out. Chris
  11. At the last 3-gun match at the Hogue Range in San Luis Obispo, CA, we set a target at just over 300 yds, but we could go a little farther.
  12. Which scopes have daylight visble illuminated reticles?
  13. Buy the California Competition Works and you can get 3 for the price of one of the others.
  14. You said it best yourself when the RO asked you if the screw that holds it came out of the side: "I have no clue" Use some loctite and the cylinder won't come out. That's not S&W's fault.
  15. I wanted to buy a Mossberg 930 spx for 3-gun until a friend of mine shot one and said that it kicks worse than a pump. He and another friend both recommended the Rem 1100 tactical instead. However, I would rather pay only $600 for a Moss if it works just fine for 3-gun and doesn't really kick that bad. What experiences have you had with these shotguns? Thanks Related input for my decision: Thoughts on ghost sights vs bead or FO on the vent rib Thoughts on 930 recoil thoughts on expense of used 1100 vs new 930
  16. Ran mine in a 3-gun match last weekend, and it worked great! The wiggle doesn't seem to affect function. I was a little worried about how durable the extension would be since it is not made of the same material as the p-mag, but I dropped mine off a barrel fully loaded, and it worked fine afterwords. very satisfied!
  17. 231 was dirty when I used it. Tiregroup works great in 38, and I am just loading my first 124 gr 9mm on 3.5 gr Titegroup. I have also used TG in my .45 revo loads before.
  18. Apex Tactical 627 for ICORE limited Div. and the same gun for USPSA Limited 10 Div.
  19. My local dealer got some new c3 Defense billet lowers in stock, and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these C3 Enhanced lower receivers? They have an integrated trigger guard, a helicoil insert for the grip screw and a built-in hex head metal tension screw with a polymer tip. www.c3defenseinc.com
  20. I'm sure this topic has been argued before, but I couldn't find it in a search. I have a 17 and a 34, but I want to buy a carry model. Should I get a 26 or a 19? Please give the pros and cons of carrying each model. (concealability, shootability, etc.) Thank you in advance for your experienced advice.
  21. Secure Firearms Products makes stars that we have used in the International Revolver Championships for a few years now. The ball detent attachment for the plate is better than the ones designed with a spring that holds them in. The detents can be adjusted so that they work for .22 or centerfire. I hate the spring held plates; one just cost me a few seconds yesterday when it held the plate in and I had to shoot it twice.
  22. The match was great! The weather was warm and sunny, the RO's were friendly and professional, the stages were fun, and I had a great time. Thank you, John Major and your crew, for putting on the 1st Annual New England Regional Revolver Championship and doing it well!
  23. I talked my wife into shooting the match with me!
