Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. i use 2 safariland 333's and then the blade-tech holders i use for idpa. i just put the blade-techs off to my far left so that i grab them last when needed.
  2. vaknah

    Watermelon anyone?

no safety gear required... apparently she would have been perfectly safe standing next to the knight
  3. The child's mother, 18-year-old ... A 3-year-old Seaford boy ... do the math... i see a pattern of irresponsibility
  4. I like seeing titles like "Cleaning the Safe," "Random Accessories," "Eight guns for sale," etc. This obviously doesn't apply to people selling one or two items, but on the assorted parts its great. I can spend so much time looking at all the randomness that ensues. Several times, I have found that one random item that I was really looking for but figured nobody would have/sell (for half the price of a new one).
  5. i do this all the time... in fact, i did it yesterday. the good part about midway is the internet coupons for $10 off an order over $50. the coupon usually handles the shipping cost... this usually ends up with me hunting for 45$ worth of stuff i could use but don't need in order to make the shipping free on the $5 item i forgot.
  6. um, i guess the bonus will be that you get to see me saturday? i actually already made arrangements to send it to apex tactical after this weekend. considering i live on the ri boarder... ill keep larocca in mind in the future. thanks tom edit: ive actually gotten comp III's now, and done away with the pvc speedloader holders... and in the absence of school, had time to practice.
  7. i am thinking that i am going to take the weigand sight base suggestion, but i have two questions. 1) who can install it that you would recommend? this is a lot like my original question because i still need someone competent who can do the work. s&w told me that in order for them to install a basic pinned sight, it would take six weeks... 2) what style of sights do they use? rounded or trapezoidal? ie these or these? thanks for putting up with a total noob
  8. hate to be a total nerd but... from a scientific perspecive: precise and accurate have different meanings. if you shoot at a target 10 times, and none of them are closer than a few inches from each other, but they are centered around the bulls-eye, you are shooting accurately, but not precisely. if you shoot at a target 10 times and have a 2 inch group located a foot and a half to the left of the paper, you are shooting precisely, but not accurately. in this case... i guess if all the scientists agree on a number that would make it precise... the fact that they could all be off by a few million gallons would make it an estimate.
  9. looks like natchez has fed spp $33.42 with 5k limit
  10. hello, i have a model 67 with a fixed front sight. i need a smith that will replace it with a pinned fiber-optic sight. smith and wesson told me they wont do it because i don't want to replace it with a factory sight. if it were your gun, where would you send it? bonus points for someplace near rhode island thanks
  11. looking for: Blade-Tech Double Speedloader Pouch Safariland COMP-2 and COMP-3 S&W K-Frame (can't post in classifieds yet)

  12. im having issues reaching pf. K frame 4" using 160gr bayou (actual weight is 162 +/- .1) i have been using clays 2.7 gr = 690fps 2.9 gr = 720fps 1.50 oal hodgdon reloding manual lists 3.1 as max for 38 special. because the chambers are +p rated i went a little over and loaded 3.2-3.3 (one lee disk up) after shooting a match i chrono'd, and the average was around 740.. which left me at 119.8 pf i am trying to load 132 pf so i can use it for both icore and idpa with some comfort. i am not sure if the fact that i had been shooting the gun for 350ish rounds before chrono could be the cause of my problems. would this really slow my bullets down by 75 fps from what i expected? i would prefer not to have to buy a new powder, but i dont know how to make this work. help please, im very frustrated.
  13. yesterday it was "the best in the universe," what match did you discover just the other side of orion 7, and when is the field trip to that one? Match was fun, I couldn't find anywhere that the news actually showed other people all the footage they took.
  14. in order to get to the woods where i shoot, i have to drive 20 minutes. upon arrival, i set up my chronograph to take some measurements. having just reduced my oal, and added powder, my bullets were going approximately 50fps slower than before. every few shots, my chronograph would read something incoherent, and i would have to restart it. after deciding to chrony at a later date, i put up three targets. 222r222r222 i had told my dad to stop timing after the 18th shot... shot number 2 went click. without thinking i had kept going and ejected the round anyways. my dad did not stop the timer because there were only 17 bangs. after holstering and stopping the timer, we could immediately recover 15 brass. the FTF round was not among them. after several minutes sifting through leaves we finally collected the round and the other two brass. i drew, loaded the one round, and fired it into my target tree, and reholstered. i then came to the realization that i only had one speedloader in my pocket. another search commenced to find my other loader amongst the leaves. i went back to the bench to load the speedloaders. as i went to draw and load, the grip came off with the gun still firmly in the holster. we searched about two minutes for the grip screw before we just gave up and went home... travel time: 40 minutes shooting time: 41 seconds(including my slow reloads) time spent preparing to shoot and searching for lost objects: 10 minutes
  15. basically the technique i use... from what i figure, someone has almost killed me once each month in which i rode my bike.
