in order to get to the woods where i shoot, i have to drive 20 minutes.
upon arrival, i set up my chronograph to take some measurements.
having just reduced my oal, and added powder, my bullets were going approximately 50fps slower than before.
every few shots, my chronograph would read something incoherent, and i would have to restart it.
after deciding to chrony at a later date, i put up three targets. 222r222r222
i had told my dad to stop timing after the 18th shot...
shot number 2 went click.
without thinking i had kept going and ejected the round anyways.
my dad did not stop the timer because there were only 17 bangs.
after holstering and stopping the timer, we could immediately recover 15 brass.
the FTF round was not among them.
after several minutes sifting through leaves we finally collected the round and the other two brass.
i drew, loaded the one round, and fired it into my target tree, and reholstered.
i then came to the realization that i only had one speedloader in my pocket.
another search commenced to find my other loader amongst the leaves.
i went back to the bench to load the speedloaders.
as i went to draw and load, the grip came off with the gun still firmly in the holster.
we searched about two minutes for the grip screw before we just gave up and went home...
