  2. Welcome ParkerNash! Lot's of good shooters to hang out with in Colorado.
  3. OK, so the little Warrior Princess has graduated from high school now. Too young to enter law enforcement academy yet. So...She got invited to drive a car in the "powder puff" event after the main Demo Derby was over. Officials had to shut her down and "break her flag" for overly aggressive behavior. Seems she forgot the instructions about hitting the other cars head on.

  4. Wearing parts out is a good thing. A well loved gun is a heavily used gun, in my small collection. Many owners never know that joy.
  5. The eye never stops seeing. The mind ignores what it believes is not possible to see. If there is time to press the trigger, there is more than enough time to see the dot/sight and call the shot.

Got one a couple of nights ago: "the wise learn more from fools than fools learn from the wise."
  8. If you haven't already done so, you might try really cleaning the copper fouling out of the barrel. I don't own an open blaster, but a good copper solvent is usually the first thing I try when a friend drops by with a rifle that suddenly stops grouping. The 25-'06 is famous for this little stunt. Hoppe's just don't cut it, even though the bore "looks" clean. That first turquoise colored patch is a beautiful thing!

  11. I have done some study in recent months on binaural frequencies. These are usually related to the Schumann Resonance, which is the frequency of the earth, measured between the surface and someplace in the upper atmosphere. Generally, this is a pretty low frequency, and it varies from about 7.8 HZ to 11HZ. I bought one off of Amazon called "four hours of sleep in 40 minutes". (you might find it a little irritating) While in deep sleep, our brain wave frequencies fall to about 7.8HZ. This is where healing and repair of the body takes place. There are other frequencies that accompany other activities. Surely this Heavy Metal craving has something to do with the new brain activity that you are developing along with the pistol skills. It is a very interesting topic that you have begun here. I hope we explore it much further. Sometimes, all we have to do is listen.
  12. .....yes, exactly Dave. Like "daves_not_here" is sort of sharing the same meme... I was never gone, the cat was never dead (oh yes it was) and you (dave) are and aren't here now. I really don't know why I couldn't figure all this out much sooner. But, I probably did. And that's why I love shooting so much.
  13. The thing I like about a comped .45 is the wacky amount of power factor i can make comfortably. A .460 Rowland is really a hoot! There's also .45 Super, and just plane old 155 grainers doing almost 1,200 fps. I'll set up a top end like this every so often, and just run it for a while. Once, we were down in the gun room talking about the .45, so I cut off some .308 brass, inside reamed it on the lathe, and had a .45 Mongo in about half an hour. Can't remember the ballistics on it, but it needed an 18lb spring with the 3 port comp. What ever you do, I'm sure it will be fun!
  14. How we are all one Hope this is a functional link. I'm wondering.....does enlightenment have something to do with Schrodinger's Cat, no? Hey..If we are all one...... I am Schrodinger's cat! ..
  15. It's very good to be back. The past 4 years have drawn my energy/attention to places far less fun than here. But, having spent a good many years as an active member, it's kind of like the way you feel about your hometown. You may go far away for a while, it's always where you are "from". Hi, I'm Sam and I'm from BE.com!
  16. As my buddy from Shoshoni likes to say: "make them eat their vegetables". Challenging stages make a memorable match. Congrats on getting a few good natured grumbles!
  17. What an interesting thread to return to after my abscence from the BE forums! Enlightenment, indeed. Haven't shot since April. Many personal tests of the shamanistic variety have been keeping me fully engaged. This present personal journey began, in many ways, right here at these forums, over ten years ago. I hope the path leads back this way. There are many old friends here that I really have missed. What a long strange trip it has been....
  18. Long ago, I lived near there. And I really lived! Which explains why I live here now....... Good people in the hills!!
  19. Thanks for adding me to your friends list! It reminded me to come back and log in. Too long away from this cool place!

  20. Welcome! Just jump in here and start posting!
  21. Thank you for sharing that Flex. It reminded me of something very important, something I forgot along the way. -Sam
  22. Hottie, I don't think you are crazy. I have 4 top ends for my Caspian single stack. You can always find a good use for a different one. Steel Challenge, anyone?
  23. Welcome Mike! Glad to have you. If you've been lurking long, you know we are all beginners here. It a great place to learn.
  24. I'm not even sure that posting in threads about ammo is legal anymore.
