Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. 6.5 Grendel is what you are looking for! There are all kinds of options. Enjoy!
  2. It looks like Robocop had some fancy updates on his sidearm. Levity aside, it looks wonderful! I bet it shoots amazing as well.
  3. Did get the comp and I put it on my kimber team match. Oddly didn't even take it to the range to see how much of a difference it made before taking it in to get duracoated. Never figured to be the sort to go full on tacticool with it, but I guess I'm that guy now. lol I also got a shorter trigger since I have tiny fingers. I am not reloading yet...but that would have been a very satisfactory solution as well. Though I am sure if I load lighter and use lighter projectiles when I do, it would be nearly like an air pistol. lol While I was driving around doing errands, and chores around the house, I enjoyed Stephen Hawking reading me Brian's book on my kindle. It had been a while since I "read" it, never gets old. Where do I go to sign the petition to ask him to write another one?
  4. If you are a bit adventurous, and handy as well as budget oriented, why not put together your own? Just buy a stripped lower and get a complete parts kit and you can cherry pick whatever parts you want and have it all your way. You can make something quite nice for a fraction of the fancy armalite thing the silly poster above touted.
  5. I like the way you think sir! The .460 Rowland barrel/comp that was availbile as well I would have bought if not for the suggestion that you don't shoot .45 acp through it. Otherwise, the whole thing of barrel life might be a Faustian bargain I could not have passed up. Boom!! ducwidt? Corny Goethe jokes aside...I remember in the 80's Dan Wesson had a revolver you could shoot I think it was .38/.357...and .357 MAXIMUM and it would last something like a few hundred rounds or so of the hot one. I loled so hard that people actually made that. Like guys sat around in a room and one guy says..."Watch this..". I bet that was a fun room. : ) I think you probably would fit right in that room. I think I might too. lol
  6. GULP!! Well, I ordered one of those compensated barrels from Clark and I have 230 grain that I will be shooting from it. That isn't even fast enough to make Specialist I reckon. (The premise of the joke being that a 5.7 would be full General I guess) I will let you know how it works out for me if you like. Thanks for your advice Richard.
  7. That is what I do too, but I have only had that weapon since 1997 or so (lol) and it still has no noticeable wear. Lite is definitely the way to go on AR's in my opinion as well. It was a complete parts build from "model1sales".
  8. Thanks so much for the really helpful post sir!! That was a convincing enough article I am ordering now. I used to live in St. Louis and was a member at bullseye for a number of years. I wonder if we might have met. : ) Thanks again very much indeed.
  9. If you are really concerned about accuracy, if you can find a used AR-10(T), those are quite good for I expect a smallish portion the price of the JP (which are also exceptional).
  10. Oh, I definitely have and use one...would just like to shoot the regular 230 grain with less recoil/ more accuracy/ faster follow-up.
  11. Given the moderate pressure and velocity and large projectile, how effective is it to get a compensated barrel for a kimber team match to make it more spouse friendly? Does anyone sell a compensated upper that you could just swap in the fashion you do with a .22LR upper so you could still have the original on hand if you ever chose to sell your weapon? If this is not the correct place for such a thread, mods please ship it there and let me know. : )
