  1. From who and when did you order, cecil?
  2. Order #104 2-170's 1-140 Hopefully they will get here by the time my new DVC gets here! This transition to Open is getting spendy!
  3. Well, I couldn't resist. I called Brazos and put a deposit on a 9major DVC Open gun. Now to do the research on mags and 9major loads and get reloading components enroute.
  4. I tried the S&B SPP, worked just fine in my Glock and my 2011's.
  5. My factory Edge and my GH2 custom will both run factory ammo just fine.
  6. Tightgroup and 180 Bayous are my got to load for Limited. 4.4gr-4.6gr is your charge window for major PF, depending on your barrel.
  7. I leave it in the hopper. Yes, the tube is stained. No, never had issue.
  8. I vote TRY. IMHO, slide mounted RDS will eventually become a normal fixture on carry guns. Seems prudent to get onboard with a division for them. Not to mention that the gaming community is usually the best place to wring out the issues and advance the technology. Hell, I am totally on board for a Tac-Production division. 1) Mounted working flashlights. 2) Slide mounted RDS. 3) Grip work and magwells. 4) Allow mag extensions. (Use the 140mm dimension rule.) 5) Minor scoring. 6) Belt mounted holsters with drop and offset only WITH a retention device. 7) Mag carrier and holster placement the same as current Production rules. My $.02
  9. Keep the factory G24 slide unaltered, as they "can" bring a premium price during a resale since they can be hard to find. If your going to cut on a slide, I suggest getting a LWD slide and mill it to your hearts content. Before I changed over to a 2011 platform, the below is what I shot in Limited. I had George Huening fit a blind marked LWD barrel and do the slide lightening. I sold the topend to a friend of mine, should have kept it, as it was a great set up.
  10. Wilderness Tactical for work and everyday dress, Beltman for casual or better attire.
  11. I used blue loctite on my Racers after I had them all adjusted where I wanted them. I just last week had to re-tighten one of them, but all four have been great for a little over two years now.
  12. While I will always be a Limited Division shooter, I like the idea of a division that allows use of a slide mounted red dot. IMHO, I think that a lot of folks in the CCW world, are leaning in this direction, for various reasons. I could see a division along the same lines as Tac-Ops in the 3-gun, but adjusted to handgun only. 1) Slide mounted red dot only. 2) Same holster and mag placement requirements similar to Production. 3) No comps. But suppressor use OK, (Imagine the holster issues for these folks!) 4) Power factor in line with current defensive loads, ballbark number being 150pf, thus allowing use of 9mm but no mousefart loads. 5) Mag capacity, touchy subject due to ban states. Personally, I say use the Limited Division regulation of a 140mm mag size.( Although, I can see just allowing the guns factory capacity.) 6) Mandatory mounted weapon light. Yep! I said it! 7) Magwells, allowed! Just my thoughts on the subject, but I would occasionally shoot in the division with the above criteria.
  13. I have, and tried both. The ICE big hands was the winner. The Cameron's BAM was a bit too big for me.
  14. Interesting, didn't notice the little gap on my Edge until you mentioned it, I actually had to get the gun out and look at it. lol My Edge is about 2yrs old, however, I also bought the frame for my full custom build about a month or two prior to buying the Edge. The "gap" is far less noticeable on my GH2 custom.
  15. Kimbertarget, this is what your looking for. http://www.1911store.com/thumbguardbcg.aspx I have one on my Edge. Sorry for the crappy pic.
  16. Go hear, http://api.viglink.com/api/click?format=go&key=b6ab443b8fd2c260d7b6bfa96baede95&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.brianenos.com%2Fforums%2Findex.php%3Fshowtopic%3D169712%26page%3D4&v=1&libId=f0f3c7ec-eb4b-40f4-b67c-660b377a94e6&out=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.shootingsportsinnovations.com%2FNITRO-FIN-2011-STI-SV-Slide-Lock-Thumb-Rest-NF17-4.htm&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.brianenos.com%2Fforums%2Findex.php%3Fshowtopic%3D169712%26page%3D5&title=Limited%20Thumb%20Rest%20%2F%20Gas%20Pedals%20-%20Page%204%20-%201911-style%20Pistols%20-%20Brian%20Enos's%20Forums...%20Maku%20mozo!&txt=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.shootings...Rest-NF17-4.htm&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13871295900798
  17. 1) Over insertion can cause a major malfunction on a course of fire, thus, slowing you way down. 2) In Limited Division, where a large majority of folks use long loaded ammo, there is a chance the slide lock could be unintentionally activated, thus, slowing you down. 3) Thin mag followers can also cause activate the slide stop unintentionally, thus, sowing you down. 4) Running a gun to slide lock requires extra attention to get the gun back up an running, thus, slowing you down. You see the pattern here. Also, note, that if you have a good plan on a stage, running to slide lock should never be an issue. And if your plan involves running the gun empty/ slide lock, it isn't a good plan 99.9% of the time.
  18. Remove handguard, Use these mounted in a strong vice. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/608967/dpms-barrel-vise-jaws-ar-15-aluminum Preferable between the muzzle and the gas block. Use wrench and turn counterclockwise. Unless the barrel is less than 16", it is doubtful that the muzzle device is pinned.
  19. I will make a guess, that the Nitro Fin will start showing up in inventory at some of the big name parts and gear suppliers. I bet, Shay doesn't want to deal with small parts orders. Thats just a guess.
  20. Even if you high cut the trigger guard, you will still get the Glock knuckle. So, get used to it.
  21. If you EVER plan on running a suppressor, you might as well get the threaded barrel. Because, unless you can thread the barrel yourself, a good GS will charge more than $50 to do it. Plus the possible added cost of shipping and barrel removal and replacement. So, get the threaded model.
  22. I had this same issue with my Edge, the serrations would literally saw thru my hand where is joins with my thumb. I had my local GS bevel the bottom edge of the slide, it would still saw at my hand a bit, but near as bad as before. I wasn't too concerned about the finish as I was planning on having the gun hardchromed during the off season. When I took the gun to my GS to prep and send it off for hardchrome I also took him a thumb guard to install when the gun was returned from the finisher. It worked out well. When I was my GS build me a new Limited gun, I made sure that the serrations did not go all the way down to the bottom of the slide, that gun needs no thumb guard. That said, any good GS can do what you need, especially any of the GS that frequent this sight.
  23. Playing with the camera. Slightly better pic.
