  1. Tailor your load for the gun that has the shortest OAL. Then test it in your other guns for function and signs for over pressure. If all checks out, your good to go. All my practice ammo and plinking ammo is tailored for my Glocks, which is what I carry, and to function in my suppressed 9mm SBR AR. I have a complete seperate toolhead and dies for my incoming 9mm Major Open gun. That said, since you have three completely different guns, you might have accuracy issues across the different platforms just due to what the guns prefer.
  2. I have already talked to a few and they confirmed once they have the parts - Two week build time. Maybe two weeks to to do all the fitment work, but I call BS if they have to prep it for finish and send it off for HG or PVD/DLC. That in itself can be time consuming.
  3. Must have never heard of Gary Natale. I use to laugh at the folks waiting that long. Never waited more than a couple weeks, ever. Too bad he retired. Oh I heard of him, but he was an exception to norm. Also, didn't Gary require you to supply all the parts? Not to say that is a bad thing, but it was something that I recall. I am just being a realist.
  4. Lol at the folks thinking they can get a full custom build in 3-6 months!
  5. When I originally bought my CRP Edge from Dawson, I also had started the process of having a custom Limited gun being built and knew it would be a fairly long build time. But I had done enough research before the purchase of both guns to come to the conclusion that good tuned mags were important. So, I had purchased a 4 pack of the Brazos Supertuned mags. Those mags ran great for over two years in both guns, unitl last year towards the end of the season I started having some mag issues. I contacted Bob L., he said send them in. He corrected the issues, in which some were my fault using a different spring and follower that Bob doesn't recommend, corrected tube demensions and sent them back. About $100 total for shipping and new springs and followers. Mags are back to running as good as they did when new. Thats good CS! I also have one of the new DVC Open guns on order, for this adventure to the darkside I have chosen to try the MBX mags. (I have the mags, they are nice. But I don't have the gun yet.) Also note, back when I bought my Brazos mags, they were only $500 for the 4 pack, now I think they are $600.
  6. Ordered January 30 Brazos 9major Open DVC
  7. 4X20's. I Barney with mag #3, start the stage with mag#4, reload to mag#1, #2 is OH SHIT mag#1, #3 is OH SHIT mag#2. Not nearly as confusing as it looks when written down!
  8. After having seen both in action, I bought the RCBS. I use it in a single stage Lee using the Lee QC bushing for quick set up. A bit expensive for its purpose, but a hell of a lot cleaner than a kinetic puller! That said, I bet I have used the thing less than 100 times. lol
  9. Warning, once you learn the NFA process, it leads to other NFA purchases! To be honest, I was into the NFA items long before I started USPSA, but since I refuse to pay the market price for machineguns, my 6 suppressors, 3 SBRs and AOW, will have to suffice. I actually like the look of the Nelson top rail compared to my TS topend. It looks cleaner with an optic on it.
  10. Call Dillion, they will still replace those parts under warranty.
  11. Jeez.............the DVC's were just debut at Shot Show, some of you guys need to show some patience. I am also confident most of you have other guns to compete with, and, if you are smart, once you get the gun you still need to do load development, especially if it is a Open DVC. I have a DCV Open 9major on order, I want STI to get it right, if that means a little bit of a wait, then so be it. Hell, I waited over a year for my GH2 Limited gun, and it was worth it. How about you guys use your time wisely waiting for the gun. You know load research, buying components and prepping brass/loader.
  12. Some folks develop their load for not just power factor, they have have found what the gun likes for accuracy and what makes the comp work for their shooting preference. Sometimes chasing that "flat" recoil means really throwing some powder for more "gas" to make that comp work.
  13. The XTP is a hollow point, so the COL will be shorter. For RN or TC your COL will be in the 1.30-1.60, although it is best to do the plunk test to see what your maximum COL can be and what will fit your mags. That said, I just worked up a load using Precision Delta 147gr TC jacketed bullets, yours should be similar. 3.4gr Tightgroup 147gr PD TCJ 1.145 COL This load is for plinking thru my suppressed AR SBR and I have not chrono'd, but it stays subsonic out of a 7" barreled AR, so it is running under a 1050fps. It also runs very well in my Glock G34 and two G17's.
  14. These pics are the best my camera will do, hope this helps. Barsto barrel, Brazos tuned mags 180gr Bayous loaded to 1.185". (Sorry about the pics, it is the best I can do.)
  15. I would have liked to have seen you buy those. Because, well, you are BALD!
  16. Sigh.................and we're off.
  17. I don't have a P10. a friend does and he is not a gamer, just likes anything Uncle Ted promotes! He doesn't shoot it very much, but when he does it is full power 10mm loads. He hasn't had any issues with stock STI mags, but again, he isn't a high volume shooter. The whole concept of tuned mags is lost on his type of shooting, in fact he only has the one mag that came with the gun. LOL (Weird fella for sure!) Now, that said, when I shot it I used my Brazos supertuned mags that I run in my Limited gun, no issues. Good luck, the P10 is an interesting beast. Not something that I would buy for shits and giggles, but neat nonetheless!
  18. .40 mags will work perfectly. I would stick to what recoil spring weight STI ships it with, although, that will depend on what 10mm loads you plan on running in it. Light loads that are about the PF as .40major loads usually perform best with spring weights between 12.5-14lbs. Full power 10mm loads will obviously need a higher lbs. spring rate. (IIRC, around a 21lb spring is close)
  19. BillD, I don't have an answer for the cases bouncing on the feed ramp, but I do suggest you replace the casefeeder spring, if you haven't already done so. I was having a similar issue, but with the added problem of cases getting jammed between the feed ramp and the shellplate. After trying to diagnose the problem, and breaking the case pusher by messing up the threaded insert in it, I came to realize that the case feed pusher was acting sluggish. And after further thought, realized that the spring needed replaced and the whole assembly needed a good cleaning. The jamming issue was caused by burrs on the feed ramp, due to cases previously not being fully pushed into the shellplate, due to the weak spring. I have the part I need on the way, but after replacing the spring and cleaning up the components, problem solved.
  20. I broke a part yesterday while cleaning my press. When I called it took less than 30 seconds to get a live person and get the part on the way, as well as adding a conversion kit and some extra primer tubes. (I ordered these out of sheer quilt for breaking my press, although I do really need the conversion kit.) lol I bet I have my order by the end of the week.
  21. I knew it wasn't one your builds. A) You wouldn't let that out of the shop that way. The holes in the slide are bored straight thru, not at an angle.
