  1. It is and the frame is a PT as well. Dimensionally it's very accurate but that's where the comparisons stop. I have the steel grip it is just exceptional even compared to the STI aluminum. You would have to rank the quality close to SV. Brian is doing really great work.
  2. I should add that it really was just for practice because I am going to tri-top it!
  3. Mill bastard file and very light passes working the contour. I also used a swiss cut for the fine finish passes then bead blast.
  4. Got back to it this weekend. I made some progress on the 6er and it is looking good. I decided to go with all SV internals and most of the parts should be here next week. From this: To this:
  5. Part of the fun man. It just makes the mill more "yours". The process of figuring stuff out, at least for me, is half the fun! Glad you are getting the DRO setup, it will make your life a TON easier.
  6. Thanks man good luck with your conversion and builds. Your machine will be the bomb once up and running. Making chips is one of the most gratifying things I have done. *Hijack off*
  7. Looks like I touched a nerve. Sorry to offend I will retreat now.
  8. Sure wish this thread was on doodie.
  9. I am curious as to where the Phil Statement (post 101 in this thread) was first published? Doodie? Doodie. Phil asked Ben to post it for him and the A6 page I believe.
  10. Adrenaline ROCKS! It will get easier to control but a good pre-shot routine will help with that and help trigger the shooting mind. (Pun intended) For movement, study Rob (TGO) on you tube. Sight picture is all about dry fire. Visualize it when you can't shoot or dry fire. Buy and read/listen to Brian's book. Last, shoot every match you can and keep having fun!
  11. Tastes great! Less Filling! Get what you think is best but I am a 38SC guy.
  12. http://store.sony.com/action-cam/cat-27-catid-Action-Cam That new replay mini looks sweet!
  13. Once the fine scratches the paper leaves are more pronounced than any surface imperfections it is time to switch. When it seems that the shine is stalling move to the finer grit paper as the shine dictates.
  14. ROCK THAT GLOCK!!!! Go have fun and don't panic but relish in the adrenaline! Your goals are right on point just let everyone know you are a NooB and they won't let you fail. Get in a routine before the beep and do it for every stage. Maybe a little mantra, "safe, focus, sight picture, trigger control and muzzle awareness". I remember my first time. Loved that feeling so have fun!
  15. Let her decide. Take her to the gun shop and let her handle them. Then take her to a match ask some shooters to let her try their gun and see what she likes. Also throw a 1911 9mm into the mix. The more one likes their gun the more one wants to shoot it!
  16. The hi-cap 2011 style frames are over size. All will need to be fitted to your slide. If your 45 is a standard feed ramp barrel then you will need a standard ramp frame. If the barrel is a ramped barrel then you will need a frame that is cut for the style of ramp the barrel is. It is possible to fit the slide to frame using just files but it is not best practice. Precision milling is ideal. Have a pro fit it for the best possible outcome.
  17. @ Alma Thanks for the images. That is a compelling performance advantage. Although I have not experienced the hang up I can see how that could happen.
  18. The dies are the same. http://www.dillonprecision.com/What_are_the_major_differences_b-98-9-1498.htm
  19. Any issues with making weight or fitting the box? My Accu-shadow is in the queue, so I'm starting to accumulate all the other stuff I'll need once its done. So I have the Target not the Accu but the weight is supposed to be the same (42oz) according to the list. Mine fits the box and weights 41.6oz. So you should be GTG!
  20. I avg. 15min per 100 (pistol) including most all that you do in your calculation and I'm loading on a 650.
  21. Accuracy Speaks & Glockmeister are both in Mesa. Accuracy Speaks is at Rio Salado Shooting Range.
  22. Yeah Amidon said if it fits the box it is GTG.
