Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. A friend just uses crayon. Rub it over the indentations and wipe off extra.
  2. Satern makes great barrels. Mine preferred the 123g over the 107's. SMK's that is. Sold the Ar upper,Now I have it in a Savage 10FCP with a .308 barrel also. Haven't shot it in awhile...durn .308 is so accurate. Tho it will do 1/2 moa also.
  3. Shooting is a degradable skill. Which is why I dropped some Appleseed Project events. I was instructing more than shooting and my skills suffered. The amount Kelly shoots for practice is indicative of a high level of performance and dedication. I couldn't do it either, I just want to keep the edge and have fun. (In that order)
  4. Chris: I just saw the match results...good showing on your part. A few comments on your post and the weekend. 1.) Weather was forecast to be rain and cold.(Wish I'd worn longjohns) Pack a rain suit next time. I started getting cold and put mine on, it really helped with the wind too. Keep a pair of gloves just for while you are shooting, another pair for the down time. Dry means alot more comfort. 2.) Grip was slippery... skateboard tape on the weapon? Check division rules and see. I tried some out on my M&P for fun and it made a huge difference. 3.) I think we all suffered from fumbled reloads because our fingers were cold. 4.) Focus. Forgetting the two at the end of stage 3 was you not sticking to your plan. Plan it, shoot it. *** Notice I had a brain fade on that stage...as I was reloading the SG going to the star, I dropped a couple shells and STOOPED AND PICKED THEM UP! Duh! Still had plenty on the Otto Load Two** This was not in my plan!!! Now take all this with the knowledge this was my second 3Gun match. But I do try to observe and learn. Thanks again for loaning the Benelli on stage 1. I would have hated to go home and not shoot the whole match because I had a non functioning shotgun.
  5. +1 on this. I have high regard for a man willing to put his mistake up for public perusal. You are aces in my book. Thank you
  6. I was told they are made to their specs by another manufacturer. That may be wrong. Just ordered a JP15 rifle, was told to expect 10 to 12 weeks for delivery. Gonna be a long wait. There must be a snag in parts for them, that or alot of orders are ahead of me.
  7. Having trouble deciding on which barrel profile to get for my JP15 rifle. Will use it for 3gun and assorted shooting. Thinking the 18" w/ rifle gas system with skeleton stock. Which profile do you recommend light contour or medium contour? Before you answer...I just might want to put replace the comp with a flash hider in the future. I am leaning toward a light profile with the thermal dissipator. Thoughts? I have to get this order in...8>10 weeks b4 I could take possesion.
  8. I know group buys are not allowed here. Question: Can I mention one on an alternate forum? I do not know how to reach a moderator for the answer. Please advise. Thanks Oh, and this is pertinent to this thread.
  9. +1 on snipershide. I believe you will have more of a chance finding someone with your particulars there. More of a central site to find the gunsmiths who will have what you need.
  10. Sorry people, I guess I got lazy by not searching outside of this forum. Thank you for the links and search advise, I will try to be more thorough in the future. I was under the assumption that these were USPSA sanctioned matches, by the sub-forum here, and that there was match information listed. Still, an interesting competition!
  11. That's the stuff, thank you.
  12. Call Dillon...they have great customer service. I'm sure they can find the culprit and give a fix.
  13. Thanks for the link. I was aware of the CMP matches, however I see they are service rifle oriented. What I was thinking of was more precision bolt gun matches and unknown distances. This was my understanding of such matches. Not the position shooting done by the CMP affiliated clubs. I know one of our gun club members travels west to do some, but I haven't seen him for awhile.
