  1. Concealment garment is about the only rule that makes sense. I actually like it
  2. You have to decide to transition fast and just do it. The positions will not be comfortable and your stance will be really bad. As long as the shots are close it does not matter. I only notice how uncomfortable it is in dry fire. In match it is so fast you will never notice. When you start pushing the speed your body will work out the movement on its own.
  3. There are very few long shots in IDPA. These are easy shots and most of us can make them. We just have to use the correct sight picture and basic marksmanship skills. It really ads very little time to do it correctly the first time. I bet that the majority of people would place much better if they practiced shooting 0 down shots and stop eating points down
  4. My vote is glock 34. You are familiar with the platform. I shoot a plastic gun much better than a heavy gun. It's a personal choice but I think people get caught up in the hype.

    Glock Recoil

I shoot a Glock 34 and wanted to try my friends CZ. It just did not feel as good to draw and transition. I just really like a lighter gun. I agree with the post about 9mm not having enough recoil to worry about.
  6. I was really pissed about the new rule. I even though about not shooting IDPA anymore. I shot my local club match Saturday with emphasis on accuracy. I shot like I would under the new rule to see how It would affect the fun of shooting a match. I have to say that it was not big deal. I won most accurate and came in second overall (lost by 1.53 seconds). Under the new rules I would have won easily. I know that others would shoot different but they would have had to slow down a little. I have to say that it was not bad. Try it before you pass judgment you may like it.
  7. I edited my post. I'm a little up set with the direction IDPA seem to be headed. I like shooting with all the people I have become friends with but I'm more of a gamer. Maybe IDPA is just not for me. Mods did not ask me to. I felt it was just wrong
  8. Any time IDPA makes a change it is not the direction I would like.
  9. Great post!!!! I like air rifles and flintlocks. Im just not very tactical.
  10. I hit 1.4s but in not very happy with it. The draw is not one of my strengths.
  11. I shoot IDPA and did not know the term. I have only had to do it once.
  12. I had one. Sold it. Now I regret that
  13. I want a better vest. Can't find a website for competitive concealment. Anyone know how to get in touch with them. Are there any other vest I should be looking at?
  14. Im not interested in bug guns or CCP. I think it was just a waste of time and resources. Put in a 8 shot revo class and you would get my attention.
  15. How much time can you save by not seeing your front sight?
  16. Mine is a 2 pin 34. She is like my woman, getting to old and rough with a few to many mag changes.
  17. You run the risk of polishing the classifier. What I mean by this is not really improving you skills as much as knowing exactly how to shoot specific targets at specific distances. You may earn classification that you cannot compete with In a match. I do not mean to imply that you will not improve you skill shooting the classifier. I shoot the classifier in practice a few times a month. As long as you understand how it effects you shooting there is nothing wrong with it. If I had the opportunity to shoot the classifier I would take it.
  18. I bought 5 P mags Took them to the range today. The function great. There are a couple of issues with them. Not being able to tell how many rounds are in the mag is a big problem for me. The mags are drop free and they work. I did bump one during a reload and it just hung up in the gun because it is so light. They work but I like Glock mags better and Im willing to pay more for them.
  19. Thanks Agwoodard. I read that but wanted to be sure before I went to the match.
  20. It is about changing the look of the gun
  21. I broke a trigger pin in my (2pin) Glock 34. There here is a state match coming up in a couple of weeks. This will be my first sanctioned match and I don't want to run in to any problems with SSP rules. I would have bought a black on but all I could find is S/S
  22. Glad I seen this thread. I going to put a deposit on one or the other from Automatic Accuracy the first of June. I had the chance to dry fire a Automatic Accuracy double action SP-01 at a club match last month. I was worried about the double action trigger pull. After dry firing a tuned gun I know that it would not be a problem. Im getting splits on IDPA head shot splits in the .23-.26 at 7yds with my glock 34 (tracking my sights). I pretty happy with times and know I can improve on them. Just thinking that the 75 shadow would work fine for me. I don't want to buy the wrong one. I have not done this long enough to know if I need the extra weight to reduce my splits or not.
  23. Thanks for the info guys. Not sure what I want now. I like the JM 625 a lot. I may drop the idea of IDPA and just shoot steel with a 627 re-chambered to 9mm. Guess I need to do some more research. Had to buy my son in laws Para last night because they need the money.
  24. I posted here instead of the IDPA thread hoping to get a little more attention. I want to start shooting a revolver in IDPA. Im looking at a 686 or JM 625. I reload for 38spl 9mm and 45acp already. I have a couple of questions. If I have it chambered to 9mm is it still legal. Which caliber gives the best advantage. This is already looking very expensive! Not sure why but I feel the need to buy a revolver
