  1. At least they finally realized you can't charge a premium just for the name when so many companies are doing it better and cheaper. I'm hopeful that Colt is trying to turn it around. I'd like to see them producing good 1911's, I think they just need some guidance, and listen to it, from shooters about what WE want, not what some marketing guy thinks we want.
  2. Looks like they are trying to compete with the Springfield RO.
  3. Make sure to explain to your new girlfriend that you are a shooter and not going to change.
  4. Have you seen your muzzle flash? If not you are probably blInking.
  5. It's not trigger control, if it was the other 5 wouldn't be there. It's anticipation that's causing that low left shot. Try this take a dot, any dot, using a delayed beep on the timer, start the timer, take a sight picture on the dot and prep the trigger. When the beep sounds pull the trigger immediately, shot should break around .20. If you have poor trigger control the shots will be everywhere, if your trigger control is fine (you'll be pulling the trigger as quickly as you possibly can) then all your shots will be on the dot. If you hesitate and then pull you will throw the shot because you will not be reacting to the beep but to your own perceived idea of when the gun should go off and you will get a preignition push from anticipating the recoil. Try it
  6. I know Barnhart won a Nationals without winning a single stage.
  7. Hmmm, four pages and I haven't seen any mention of accuracy of 115 vs 124 vs 147....
  8. I started with 7.2 and it made major but just barely in my Trubor. Bumped up to 7.4 but try it in your gun first.
  9. Going to work on some load development this week. Grabbed some 124 and 147 XTP to experiment with and going to do loads with both Titegroup and CFE pistol to see what shakes out.
  10. Hey Pat, that's an awesome article and so much better than what we normally see in Magazines. I love your testing methods. Got more of these?
  11. Can't say about the Sentinel but I got a Trojan this fall in 9mm and with Tripp mags I have well over 1000 rounds through it without a single malfunction. Accuracy is great, fit and finish is awesome. Still tight as when new
  12. This one went a bit better I had two misses on the last stage...but it was hard lol
  13. The choice really is: Get a Trubor now or get a Checkmate now and a Trubor later...
  14. I was just practicing reloads, yeah, that's it, practicing reloads...

  16. Looking at the positive my transitions are better. I still have to figure out what's acceptable for each shot with the sights. Gun doesn't need much work, though I am trying lighter loads, those were still 141pf. Just picked up some titegroup and trying it out Sat. Reload was just a bad combination of errors, the Tripp mags sit just above flush with the mag well so I may trim the well a bit. I'll post 3rd person view in a bit
  17. Yes and the difference in rounds from one location or view. 8 in USPSA and 9 in IPSC, what this ends up meaning is you could have a bunch of 9 round positions and it's completely legal (though poor design) or worse a 9 round speed shoot with an unloaded start (seen quite a few of these) so the rules allow for stages that don't suit a major gun.
  18. Shooting that match was a big ugly for me since I am still adjusting to what is an acceptable sight picture on those targets with this gun. Gun is flawless, right now it is stock except for a 17# hammer spring and Techwell Magwell. On a few shots I definitely let the shot go when the front post was either high in the notch and I just didn't put it where it should be or was a bit left or right and I just let the shot go anyways. Relearning visual patience will go a long way lol.
