  1. I use his extensions on my Colt PCC Looking to find more weight if I can.....
  2. Looking for heavy legal Glock 9mm base pads. Running Glock 19s in USPSA and the mags are dropping slowly, (it seems slow), and sometimes a factory mag will hang up. Any good ideas on pads, not looking for extensions just to add some weight. TIA jon
  3. Guys like Larry Seecamp, Virgil Tripp and and Taylor are great to work with. Bought at TF extension and new spring. Only got to 41 rounds, called and found him like the others with their name on the product very receptive to helping. Running Brownells mags on a Colt 6951 and getting 40+1.
  4. Call Virgil. He'a always picked up the phone and walked me thru any issues.
  5. My Lasik lasted 15-20 years. Getting rid of glasses and contacts was Great just Great. Got up the next morning with 20/20 and zero side effects. As my eyes naturally aged, I had PRK done on my strong side eye so am back to 20/20 vision at age 69. That was unpleasant for a few days but 100% worthwhile. It is a question of your eyes plus really how good your Dr is. All surgeons are NOT the same and their results are not the same.
  6. I had shot USPSA for a while, but when Production was opened I joyfully jumped in with my CCW HK P7 M13s. Other shooters thought I was crazy to shoot a 4 inch barrel. Even poppers were never set right for a 9mm. Happily stayed with it until parts became an issue. The past 3 years I've been shooting Glock 19s. I can't believe that anyone thinks the extra inch on the front end of a gun is the difference between good and great. The bullets still go where the shooter aims. There are 50 things to do to run a good COF and the the length of a barrel just isn't one of the big concerns. PS: Glocks are ugly and class less guns. I do miss the P7s and my Colt CCOs. :-)
  7. JK: I am reading into your answer that I am probably also spending too much time confirming a hit at SC and then looking for the next plate. Do your eyes move when the shot breaks, or do you listen or look for the hit ? Great stuff..thanks. another JK :-)
  8. OP here...good suggestions. thanks. Also, is there any value in adding clock/timer to the practice to measure improvement? Once again from a dry fire perspective.
  9. I know this has been discussed but my search is not coming up. Working on dry firing I am really slow in acquiring the next target. My eyes are clearly locked onto the front sight and I am moving the gun without breaking the front sight picture. Know this is wrong...any drills, other than just practice to speed things along? TIA jon
  10. I strongly disagree with people who say it is OK for people to distract a shooter. I usually know the locals and am a big target for teasing and other nonsense as I get ready. But, as a CRO for 18 years I figure it is part of my "job" to make sure the shooter has the best chance to do well. That includes stopping shooters from crowding the line and talking loudly. I don't want "my" shooter to be distracted. I get possessive and want "my" shooter to have a clean run. Bottom line is if I can feel shooters close to me or talking loudly, I stop them, and we don't start until it gets reasonable.
  11. I am comp tac fan. Ordered 2 PCC Colt mags for right hand shooter and they arrived bullets facing forward. Comp tac is exchanging the mag holders without issue. Just an FYI that you should check your preference. Mine is bullets facing back with rifles.
  12. Judgement call, not sure it was correct. Acted as the CRO/Safety Officer at last weekend’s club Level 1 Steel Challenge. We are now seeing a lot of shooters using holstered pistols and then a 2nd gun: rimfire pistol or rimfire rifle or PCC. USPSA rules are very clear about not having 2 guns out or on. So, I asked anyone shooting a holstered gun to bag it before taking out their rimfire or rifle. It took extra time, was an extra step. Correct call or pettiness? DVC jon
  13. I've got a Colt 6951. Did NOT run out of the box so I won't recommend it. But, last weekend watched a fairly new USPSA shooter run 4 stages with his Beretta. He and it ran well. The gun was stock, no trigger work or new parts, just an MRO on top. I had heard the triggers were heavy but this one was fine. I don't remember if he had any long mags but someone probably does them.
  14. I really liked last year's Summit. Not quite used to listening to radio...kept waiting for Jack Benny or Bob Hope. Will definitely sign in to listen. thx
  15. What I hate more than losing power, ac, tv and internet, is that my ex-wife, less than a mile away, is on a grid with a firehouse. She gets her power back the same or next day and I have to go groveling over there.
  16. OP here. Some of our guys have explosive speed. If you are focused on where the gun is and pointing when they break up range, there is no way to get back behind the gun.
  17. I’ve heard the term “RO interference” forever and used it last weekend. Not sure it exists or was the right call. Level 1 match, I was sharing the clock with a bunch of good RO’s and CRO’s. Stage was set as a triangle with shooting boxes/positions in the corners. We started back, Limited Shooter fires from box 1, then 2 mags fall from his belt as he goes to box 2, this happens about 4 steps out of box 1 and 15 feet from box 2. Running fast, he continues to box 2, I stay back in case he comes back for his mags….finally I start heading forward to box 3 to make sure to pick up his final time and at the same time he heads back to pick up his 2 mags to finish the COF. I am off balance heading forward and he passes me heading back. Slide was locked back and he was careful not to sweep me. But, now I was the in front of the shooter. I called “stop”. I was not happy about this, but figured it was my fault as I should have anticipated longer that he might come back and awarded a re-shoot. Was this right under 8.6.4? As a shooter I have always stopped if the RO got into my 180. It always seemed that safety outweighed my “right” to have a good stage. Or, should it have been a DQ under 10.3. ( We all hate DQ’ing)
  18. I ran HK P7 M13s when production started. Had 5 of them. The problem now is parts...hard to find and replace. The gun has not been manufactured for close to 20 years. But, it is fun
  19. You are late to the party. Question was asked, and answered by ChuckS. Lock it up and thanks.
  20. "Evolving" Definitely. My core issue is where or who came up with belt start and decided that is the way to go with most classifiers? I've never seen any discussion. Then again I never paid attention to PCC until last weekend. (Leave the "physical limitation" out, it is a red herring, just a rotator cuff that is healing.) I wish to argue with the concept of belt start being added to almost all classifiers. Let's evolve to half shoulder and half belt.
  21. Thanks, definitely not a fit. :-) Still looking for why the " stock on belt" is the default for for classifiers? I don't ever remember that ever being discussed by the membership or NROI updates and I've been a CRO for 15 years.
  22. I can't find 5.9.2... ?.. thx
  23. Someone please explain why the PCC start “stock on belt” is the default start position with USPSA classifiers. I tore my rotator cuff and while healing have switched to a 22 rifle for Steel Challenge. My PCC rifle finally arrived in time for a USPSA match on Saturday. I was surprised to find out that almost all the classifiers have a “stock on belt” start requiring lifting the stock of the rifle from belt to eye level. Seems dumb. If Steel is one method, why not stay with what works. Clearly an aiming point makes life a tiny bit more difficult for a stage designer but makes a heck of lot more sense than “stock on belt” which is anything but “Practical”. TIA

    marking Glock sights

Beef: thanks, yes, "witness marks"... a Carbide Scribe looks perfect, I had never heard of one before. Do you think Colorfill scratch will stay on polymer using cleaning solutions? jon
  25. We have all had sights move at the wrong time. I mark the sights on my 1911 with nail polish. I also use nail polish to number 1911 magazines. But, I’ve tried everything with Glocks and it wears off during handling and cleaning. Any suggestions other than melting the frame? TIA
