  1. I recently got a .22 conversaion for the AR. Thursday night we put 500 rounds through it with ZERO malfunctions. Saturday we put another 300 with ZERO malfunctions. That was using Federal bulk pack. I tried using Remington Golden Bullet in the Ruger Mark III 22/45 and it got lots of failures. Switched to Federal Auto Match and had zero failures out of 100 or so.
  2. You're going to have to take your shoes off to count that far, Nick!
  3. Does Highlander qualify as Sci-Fi? Another one I liked, though it was cheesey, was Predator.
  4. I checked a couple hundred when I bought a case gauge and all passed. Now I don't bother checking. Out of 50,000 9mm rounds loaded (mostly shot through an M&P), I've only had two failures and they were both squibs, so no sizing related problems. BTW, I use Dillon dies on a 550. The only failures I've had case gauging .223 ammo have been rims that were too large, so no resizing problems there, either.
  5. I never appreciated just how close they are to 1000 ft drops until I drove up that myself. On the way up I was in granny gear with the wheel turned full lock going around some turns. It's a whole lot more impressive to watch those videos, now.
  6. More than 50,000 rounds spread across 6 M&Ps (9, 9c, .45, and 3 .40s) and I've never had a light primer strike in any of them. I went over 30,000 rounds through the M&P9 before I even knew how to take the striker assembly out to clean it. I did have the mag drop problem with the M&P9c, but they fixed that and it worked well until I sold it.
  7. Come out tomorrow morning and we'll get your money's worth out of that conversion!
  8. It looks like it would be cheaper to get a Ciener and a couple Black Dog mags... This one went for $100 !!! http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=118668057 So did this one: http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=319471 Couldn't find any current suppliers.
  9. Because of the fact that in SC you have to be without fault in a confrontation in order to use deadly force, I found that when I started carrying, I had to not let little things like stupidity in traffic bother me as much. At one time I thought it was my job to educate the ignorant about their stupid driving practices by cutting them off after they cut me off, and other such nonsense. Now I just let a lot more go without it bothering me.
  10. Not only am I *going* to both, I'm going to win bo... I mean, I plan on making top ten in b... I mean, yeah...I'm going to both.
  11. It's a little farther north, but we've got a USPSA match in Augusta Saturday the 28th then the 3-gun match east of Atlanta on Sunday the 1st. Lots of cheap hotels in the $40-$50 range in both Augusta and Conyers.
  12. In the words of Marcel Ledbetter, as told by Jerry Clower, when he saw a monkey in a cage...
  13. Those pictures are way too cool!!! My youngest started shooting with me when he was 9 and my next to oldest (19) shot his first match this weekend. He came in last in Ltd, but did clean the Texas Star in 5 shots.
  14. What weight bullet? As far as very minor differences in length...I would not expect the ones you mentioned to be any concern. I would, however, load them a bit longer. I do most 9mm rounds at 1.125.
  15. Not a 3-gun question, but a friend asked about a Benelli and I figured this was the best place to ask...
  16. Happy Birthday, Nick! Why, is seems like only yesterday you were 16.... Well, ok...we were already partying, but now we have an excuse!
  17. Oh man, I thought this was going to be the following weekend! I just promised to fly to CT that day. hmmm....I could fly out of ATL after the match...
  18. Pat, can I help you when you decide to clean out the basement?!?
  19. As I understand it, the rifling of stock Glock barrels will accumulate lead more than other types of rifling and Glock suggests not shooting lead through the stock barrels.
  20. Wow! You aged a year in 4 weeks?!? You don't look it. Honestly!
  21. Wow! I'm that old? At least I don't *look* as old as Dewey! Thanks, Ward!
  22. Does dinner with Brian Enos in Phoenix count? Only if you got him to pick up the check!
  23. Thanks, JT...becuase of this thread I assked to have my lead levels checked when I last went to the doc. Just got off the phone... 40. Up until today, I used to shoot indoors a couple of times per week. So what are the normal symptoms associated with elevated lead levels? I have heard that short term memory suffers (mine has recently, not sure if I can blame it on the lead or not).
  24. I tried CCI. The lip of them seems to flare outware just a little more than others. I got many where the lip would catch the edge of the primer pocket and get cocked sideways before being pressed into the pocket. They also seemed to "hang" on the depriming pin more when reloading cases that were fire using them.
  25. 22...but I have to wait till they hit me first!
