  1. Wow! Does he know what he's going to sing for his audition? A local girl here went to try out and she is incredible. She never even got to be heard by the "real" judges. She had the impression that they already had their quota and weren't really interested in listening to/taking any more. Good luck with it!
  2. I forgot to mention that my son inadvertantly brushes the mag release hard enough about once per match to loosen the magazine. It rarely falls free, but loosens just enough to not strip a round. He's gotten really good at recovering from that.
  3. Out of my ignorance, I have been reluctant to use primers that have been handled, dropped, or subjected to unknown substances. Is that justified? Just how sensitive are these now-precious little things?
  4. To the right of the menu options that you do have, right click and you should get a menu that will allow you to reselect to display the Standard toolbar buttons.
  5. My 11 year old does this with my M&P 9 and 40 when he shoots them. I just hope that I catch it before *I* shoot it the next time.
  6. Thanks for the update....great news!
  7. When I downloaded them, they came through as .pdf files. Thanks!
  8. Boz, Remember: when you hear laughter........reload!
  9. Cool! I was thinking of this sort of thing at the SC State Match last weekend. I asked several people, "Are you on BE?"
  10. Jones Soda is sold here locally in the grocery stores.
  11. I'm making the drive for this one! (Though I will be shooting Limited instead of Production because of that stage)
  12. Every time I go. (My youngest shoots every match I go to) Locally, I would say that, on average, one out of every 15 or 20 shooters is a junior.
  13. On the plus side, since we were looking at the shirt, we weren't....looking....at............. uh, yeah....didn't have to see that ugly shirt!
  14. No help here, but I sure enjoyed reading your post!!
  15. Stage 2 of the SC Match this past weekend I hit a NoShoot. It was while shooting through the barrel and I noticed it right away and made it up. It was missed when the scorekeeper went around but I brought it to their attention before signing the sheet. Yeah, it would have bumped me up a position in the final results but I wouldn't have slept well. Another thing I learned from John2A this weekend was to paste the hardcover (walls, props, etc) so that we could tell if the current shooter put one through the wall vs the hole was there from yesterday.
  16. I'm glad you guys came to meet some new ones, too. I really enjoyed having you and BOZ around and plan to come join you guys at more of the South River matches. Besides being a laugh a minute, I saw that there is a lot I can learn from you two. Was it? I don't think I ever broke a sweat.
  17. What is your OAL on the ones that fail to feed when slammed? I had similar failures (not just when slamming a mag in, even normal feeding) when I tried too long of an OAL on some flat point .40 loads.
  18. Did anyone happen to find an extra M&P.40 mag in their stuff? I believe I left one on stage 2 Friday. It has one of the compact basepads on it and may have still had some Montana Gold bullets in it.
  19. Feliz cumpleaños, mi amigo!
  20. This was our first major match and Tommy and I learned a lot. Tommy learned how much time he was wasting by not planning his movements and I learned that I can now reset a Texas Star faster than I can shoot it. Seriously, the stages were incredible. A great mix of some up close hoser targets with some medium range more difficult shots. Working stage 4 gave us a chance to see and learn from many of the better shooters. I'm really glad that Tommy got to work this and realize how much effort goes into a match like this. From the several days of work put in by the setup crew to the weeks and months of work done by Linda, Jack, Donnie, Julie, and others; it was an amazing effort that paid off in a fantastic weekend for all of us. I've got to give a special thanks to the guys who were bringing us water and Gatorade all day Saturday, without them I wouldn't have made it through the day. It was also really cool to have John2A be the CRO for our stage and Dan help RO. I learned a lot from them, too. I want to be the first to ask...When does signup start for the '10 SC State Match? ETA: Forgot to thank all those folks who went back today to tear down, put away, and clean up.
  21. That mural was done by Jack himself with spray paint and some magic markers. It turned out incredibly well! That also happened to be my favorite stage because no two people on our squad shot it the same way. I thought that was the coolest aspect of it.
  22. Is the raffle just for those attending or can the online community contribute? We did a match for the Wounded Warriors and it turned out great! http://www.ammoland.com/tag/pinetucky-gun-club/ BTW, my teammate carried me through the match and we won!
