  1. Tumbling to remove lube is a 10 to 15 minute operation. Dust is not an issue. I only tumbled to remove lube when using the Dillon lube. When using the spray lube Case Slick by RCBS, I don't tumble afterwards.
  2. In the many years I've been a member of this forum, this is the most important post I've ever made. After 46 years of marriage, my wife left me - she died. Obviously not the same as divorce, but devastating none the less. v1911, life is not over! You still have two children who need their father as much now as ever. Be there for them, even though it may hurt to do so. Equally important, find a counselor. Friends are great, but they aren't trained to help you over the hurdles you are experiencing. There is nothing unmanly about seeking help. If you broke your arm, you'd go to a Dr., and this is no different. Just like you wouldn't pick a doctor out of the yellow pages, don't pick a counselor out that way either. Ask around, and if you start seeing one and don't like them, drop them and seek another. This is important! Losing a loved one, either through divorce or death is a life changing event and there's no reason to face it alone without professional help. PM me if you want to talk or if I can me of assistance in anyway. MODS: I apologize for stepping outside this sections rules, but I felt it necessary.
  3. The variable isn't the seating die or even the length of the case, it's the rim of the cartridge and how it sits in the shell plate. If the case sits higher in the shell plate due to the way the rim is cut, the OAL will be shorter. If it sits lower the OAL will be longer. This can also effect primer seating depth.
  4. 1) Wet tumble. 2) Lube cases to resize and make ammo. 3) Dry tumble to remove lube. Not sure why you think it defeats the purpose of wet tumbling.
  5. I thought all the shell plates were made of steel....
  6. It's more likely you aren't rinsing the brass well enough.
  7. Have you tried contacting STI and asking them? I see Dawson sells the barrel & comp for around $350. I don't know what, if any fitting is involved though. EDIT: Now that I look at their ad, it lists the same barrel for both calibers. Call them, you may not need to change anything!
  8. Are you talking about a revolver? Semi auto? What manufacture and model?
  9. As I stated, thread is NOT to discuss politics. Just donating so this forum doesn't become a "Remember when?" place.
  10. 41 views and only one reply? That's sad guys. I'm retired and living on a fixed income, yet I view this as being so important that I donated $100 to the NRA and $100 to the NRA-ILA this morning. I don't want to leave the impression that I'll go without medicine or food for making this contribution, but I will have to account for it somewhere in my budget. If I was working, it would have been a lot more.
  11. Today, March 24th is Money Bomb the NRA day. This post is NOT to discuss politics, gripe about the organization or any other stray topic. It is merely a reminder that today is the day designated to contribute to the NRA. To donate to the NRA, go here: Donate | NRA To donate to the NRA-ILA, go here: Donate | NRA-ILA Or better yet, do both!
  12. Listing at $48 is a long way off from selling at $48. At least for me. When I see prices like that, I laugh and walk away. But then again, I have LOTS of primers.
  13. And just like that first high school date, Dillon didn't screw you either!
  14. Yes, fluorescent lights (or more likely the ballast) have been known to interfere with some scales.
  15. A. Dillon will make it right. B. Dillon (and probably every other die manufacturer) recommends lubing, even with carbide.
  16. Well, you can either complain here about it, of call Dillon and speak to them. I know which one I'd do.
  17. I agree. The same powder measure is used with other presses, and if ordered separately comes with the warranty. It's the press itself that has a limited warranty. I'd bet money they cover the measure.
  18. I'd bet what you were seeing with the Dillon were primers that were pressed out, then drawn back in. It's a reported event that happens with some Dillon decapping pins that can usually be fixed by altering the point of the pin.
  19. Any ammo with crimped primers has to have the crimp removed, either by swaging or by trimming.
  20. Not everyone 'does' Instagram - self included.

    My Colorado

Yeah, this is what I was driving:
  22. To say I missed the game would be a misnomer. I purposely did not watch it. That's all I can say without being thumped.
  23. Sorry, you're not allowed to do that unless you live in Chicago.
