  1. Not sure I see the issue. One style reads the amount of powder you are decreasing by while the other would read the number you are increasing it by. In the end however, the numbers do not correspond to the number of grains or tenths of a grain, unless a particular powder happens to meter out that way. Either way, it's meant for a numerical reference point and nothing more, so either way works. As for getting bent out of shape because you ignored their terms of service and expect them to bend to your will, just go ahead and run around the internet and post your complaints. Let your post serve as a reminder for people to never sell you anything, ever. And you might want to change your name to Rocky Procrastinator.
  2. No, he's right, they have been discontinued. Please tell your friends and have them pass it along. That way, maybe I'll stand a chance of getting some someday!
  3. LOL. The growing number of complaints on this and other boards is proof that Dillon doesn't work, at least not now. My conversation with you is ended. As dad used to say, it's not right to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person, though I'm sure he borrowed that quote from someone else.
  4. Just put me under the stupid category - after all, I put up with people like you. Read back, my "unsubstantiated claims" began when someone else made an "unsubstantiated claim" that Dillon was years behind on back orders. YEARS, not a year. If that claim is true, then so too are all mine.
  5. JIT or "kanban" as the Japanese who invented it under the tutelage of an American named Dr. Demings call it, doesn't justify having only one supplier on tap, nor does it forgive corporations large or small from not having contingency plans. I can easily forgive short term supply interruptions. I can not forgive "years" of back orders/interruptions/pick your synonym. Nor can I overlook the failure of an employee to properly handle a simple request for a replacement part for more than a month because of malfeasance, as was the case with my broken part. Yes, things like toilet paper were in short supply - but it didn't last for years. And comparing toilet paper to reloading equipment is the proverbial apples to oranges analogy. As I said, Mike Dillon must be spinning in his grave to see how the company has slipped.
  6. I took it as it was stated: "They are backordered years on some stuff." Only two ways I can read that, either he meant Dillon's back orders will take years to resolve, or Dillon is lacking parts that have been on back order for years. In either case, it's inexcusable and the fault can only be on one source - Dillon. Regardless, I'm not certain I even believe his statement because if it was true by either definition, it would indicate that Dillon is in serious trouble and Mike is spinning in his grave.
  7. I suspected that was the reason behind the chips. As for someone's claim that Dillon is backlogged "years" for some parts, I'm still trying to figure out how and why. And even what parts they could be.
  8. I worked in GM's sourcing department long enough to know what I'm talking about. They single sourced a lot of parts, but always had back up sources if something went south on them. Obviously that hasn't worked out with computer chips, but I've no idea how many manufacturers there are of chips. I have seen them literally pull dies from one shop and put them in another however when parts availability became an issue. Beyond that though, Covid wasn't around "years" ago, it's only been a year unless you're using a different calendar. Nor did the whole world stop producing products as is evident from the shelves of my local stores. So explain how/why Dillon have parts that have been back ordered for "years".
  9. If that's the case. then the suppliers are NOT the issue, Dillon is. Anyone that would let suppliers get years behind on parts needed to find better suppliers years ago.
  10. I'm at the age where buying a new press is out of the question, not because of cost but because of my usage falling off. In fact I foresee selling off my equipment in the coming years. None the less, I hope for the sake of those younger reloaders that Dillon does come out with a 10 station press. I wish they had one 30 years ago.
  11. I'm working on a primer substitute made from a piece of steel and a flint. Stay tuned...

  13. "Defiantly"? Why are you being defiant?
  14. A bit over three weeks ago I ordered 1k of Starline 45acp Brass. I just received notice from UPS that has shipped. Carry on.
  15. He got me too - I getting ready to respond when I saw his reply to your post.
  16. Features 10 Station Press Optional Case and Bullet Feeder Case Activated Powder Measure Integrated Bearings for Smooth Operation In Line Primer Pocket Swaging Spring Loaded Case Locator Buttons Load Cartridges up to 30/06 Length Shell Plates for Popular Calibers Price is $699
  17. If you've been doing any kind of shopping lately, you'll notice that besides primers, powder, cases and jacketed bullets are hard to find as well, as are some cast/coated or plated bullets. Many sites are listing these items as "out of stock, no back order". I'm still looking for some 45 acp cases to bolster my stock.
  18. I bought an extra 650 tool head and stuck a Lee universal decapping die in it. I use it to decap all my brass before cleaning/processing. The Lee unit is made so the decapping pin is less likely to break if you run into a stone in a case, a berdan primer or a particular tough crimp, because the pin is usually just forced up into the die. I'm never measured the Lee pin but I think it might be slightly thicker than Dillon's decapping pin.
  19. Last Update: Part arrived yesterday (1-16-21) and powder measure is back in service. I'm still puzzled as to why I had to send the part back when I had provided a photo (twice) of where the original was cracked, but so be it. So start to finish, 41 days or 26 business days. This won't deter me from recommending Dillon products, as I believe they are a top notch product, but it has soured me on what was once the top service provider in the industry.
  20. l worked with a guy who was on wife 13.0 when he passed away. You read that right - he had been married 13 times. On the other hand, we had a woman who married and buried 7 retirees and was drawing surviving spouse pension benefits for all seven. For obvious reasons she was nicknamed the Black Widow.
  21. l initially set this up for 9MM and it worked fine. When l switched to 45's l started having a problem with the rounds getting past the chute. Rounds falling bullet first go without any problems. Rounds falling base first get hung up at the base of the funnel and cause following rounds to jam. This is the funnel mounted on the 650 press and the coil spring from it leads straight down. Any suggestions?
  22. l have been trying since December 6th to get a part replaced on one of my powder measures. Was told that none of my 3 replies were received, then told l had to return the part, despite sending a picture of the cracked part twice. Part was sent priority mail - which took 10 days(!) and it arrived yesterday. Haven't heard anything back yet but I'm not holding my breath. UPDATE: Got email notification an hour and a half ago that Dillon is shipping out the part. So another 10 days (USPS) and that powder measure should be up an running. I hope.
  23. A better idea would be to teach the wife how to use the press.
  24. $7 and $8 per 100? Ugh! Yes, I know what gougers are trying to get on GB, but they aren't getting it from me.
