  1. he is referring to the non open division that allows 1 optic on a rifle, tube fed shotgun and no comps or dot on pistol. The class is basically the same just goes by different names depending on the rules used
  2. For a good minor load, I would move up from the factory ammo a little. A minor load at about 140-145 PF with a typical "major powder" will allow the comp to work better than a typical minor powder ie fast powder. The key to the comp is gas so if you want to load lighter, go with a lighter bullet so you need more powder for the PF and there is more gas to work the comp.
  3. have the trubor here. If you want a shorty, the matchmaster is the way to go
  4. USPSA or steel challenge for the use?
  5. Most are getting 20 in the 40 and 23 in the 9mm with STI tubes and grams guts. You can get more in the 40 to include 21 and even 22 rounds but your definatley paying for those 22 rounders. Most people use the 20 round mags for their everyday and have maby 1 22 rounder that is only used IF it makes a difference ie 22 round hose stage.
  6. there is no right answer. The most common is 12.5 or 14
  7. the measurement of the comp goes from end of the barrel not the threads so that comp is good. For the ghost load, 8+1 is 8+1 not 8+1+1 so its a no go
  8. That's when somebody has to fish out a dropped blaster down the hole. I vote that the MD should be the one to do that. that was already discussed in a thread a while awile back about what to do if you drop a mag in the portalet. drop the gun in and call an ro. too bad for the recent change
  9. Know the feeling, I have shot alot of matches on very little sleep. For that matter, worked alot of shifts on little sleep too
  10. I like the dawson grip tape if you go that route. 15 bucks for 3 sheets. If you do send it off, cold bore customs does a great job and has a very subdued look to the stippling. Their "tactical" stipple has a good grip to it and looks like it belongs on the gun alot more than the big round dots all over the gun. That looks fine on an sti but not so good on a glock.
  11. If that is what your have and want to shoot I say go for it. First mod would be new sights if you havent already done so. You can then add the magwell, mag extentions trigger etc If you shoot any 3 gun then your definately at an advantage with the 9mm over 40 with no PF. I would skip the race holster and just go kydex. Race holsters arnt cheap and that money could be spent elsewhere.
  12. charlie vanek WILL take care of you
  13. They all have 3 pieces. Some are joined together others are seperate. Are their 2 metal pieces attached as one that kind of spin around?
  14. The factory ammo will be alot higher PF that the stuff most shoot. If you shoot much at all, reloading is the way to go. 45 is a pretty easy one to load for and you can save about half over factory.
  15. The first DA shot may be a slight disadvantage but the nice single action pull is an advantage. In IPSC (not uspsa) which has a minmal pull for the first shot, the CZ is an advantage since glock, M&P etc all shoot the heavier pull for every shot. The CZ guys shoot it one shot then a much lighter pull for the remainder of the shots
  16. I would call vanek. I have seen a couple with the second hole that allowed the trigger to slide off. Swapping holes was the way to go. If you just have the one hole, then he might need to redo something in the trigger.
  17. go with the 8. It is really not that big and makes picking up the do much easier in the bright sun. 8 is a good compromise between speed and accuracy. The smaller might allow for more precision but are slowe and harder to pick up. The huge ones are fast but the accuracy is harder when it covers the whole plate at distance. at 25 yards the 8moa only covers 2 inches.
  18. Try moving the trigger spring back to the factory hole in the trigger bar. I am 99 percent sure that will fix the problem.
  19. make sure if you run the arredondo base pads that you check them. Alot of them have been known to not fit the gauge
