  1. I have one for my sti 6 inch and like it. For my glock I use a safariland. ALS holster. Both have very good retention an the gun isn't going anywhere
  2. Haven't had much trouble finding barrels. What kind were you looking for and what use
  3. 12'inches past the end of the tube is the correct length
  4. Check the tab on the back if the pmag. I had alot if problems with the mag well as it doesn't work well with many of tr coupled mags the sure fire mag beta mag or the new pmag. I took mine off as I rarely reload
  5. I carry 30 round mag. 2 45 round mag 1 Coupled 30 round Mag. 1 20 round mag 1 or 2
  6. Why not assemble or yourself instead of paying someone to put or together
  7. I would find a new "builder" or just put it together yourself. It sounds like he has no clue what he is doing. The ar is basically a play and plug system and is easily assembled in an hour and you will have just as good a gun as he will assemble
  8. Nothing wrong with the longer barrels for skeet. Of your doing it right its not hard to get going and you don't wanna stop your swing. My skeet gun weighed approximately 11 pounds and swung very smooth and had no trouble starting the gun or shooting 3-4 5 doubles
  9. You are going to have a smaller pattern with with the smaller gun. For trap your gonna want a 12 ga. For skeet there isn't a whole lot of difference in the 12-20-and 28 ga. If you think there is any chance of you shooting registered skeet and are looking at an OU get a 12 ga as you can tube it for the smaller ga and for registered skeet you shoot the 12-20-28-410. When I shot skeet pretty heavy there was less than a target difference per 100 between the 12 20 and 28
  10. Never had to travel to the post office to sign for any gun. The mail man delivers it and has it signed for when he delivers it.

It means they push it to the max so you need to check it and be prepared to file on the feed lips I'd needed to make it fit. So if you want that extra space make sure to check it or buy the +1 non snl and don't worry about it
  12. Build it. You then get to choose what parts go on the gun and aren't paying for stuff your gonna take right off. If your after anything other than a very basic one you can save decent money building
  13. Its legal with a license. Ship them USPS all the time with a form 1508. Regional rate boxes are very cheap for most things unless its very far then I switch to flat rate
  14. For 3 gun +1 on the gcode holster. They offer one with a hood that you basically push down in a lever and the hood springs forward. If its a stand and draw leave the hood forward. If your moving a lot going. Prone etc put the hood up an don't worry about. The pistol coming out when you don't want it to
  15. I run the safariland ALS holster for when. I use my glock 34. For my 6in 2011 I use one of the gcode holsters with a hood. You push down on the lever and it springs the hood out of the way. Both are easy to use and I know the gun isn't coming out. I ran the ALS with the glock as I just didn't trust kydex for the sti with no retention. When I found the gcode I got one and love it as I shoot the sti better than the glock.
  16. Mine is build with a CMMG barrel and bolt. I like one that is similar in feel to a regular AR and still light but not one of those air light guns. Building one was basically my only option as the SW didn't have what I was after which was Fixed A2 stock, Freefloat rifle length Tube style handguard as I like to get my hand out there farther and didn't want a rail and ALuminum receiver.
  17. Good thing with a quality used gun like the older 391s is you will always get your money back if you sell it. On the cheaper ou you need to be concerned about the poi between the 2 barrels. The 2 barrels need to converge and on a lot of the cheaper guns they have a loose idea of what is in tolerance
  18. I NEVER insure a gun when shipping it off as it adds up quickly in cost. I have collectinsure on my collection which does not require serial numbers and covers the gun when shipped up to different limits depending on shipping methods. UPS/FedEx for long guns can be the way to go if shipped ground as they are usually be pretty reasonable for longguns and are cheaper than USPS. For handguns, I use flat rate Priority mail packages or regional rate packages www.collectinsure.com
  19. Allowing non RO's to issue DQs is a very slippery slope
  20. The prep laser I believe is more for an instructor than an actual shooter as the instructor can easily see the movement of the gun via the laser as they prep and pull the trigger
  21. Ya the M16 profile bolt carrier is fine to use in the AR15 as it is just a little heavier than the Ar15 one. The buffer you use depends on the stock. If it uses a rifle buffer tube you need a rifle buffer. If its a carbine buffer tube you use a carbine buffer. I run standard non lightened Bolt carriers on all my guns and see no reason to change. There is one for you at a very reasonable price as they are having a sale for the holidays http://www.andersonrifles.net/
  22. Ya last year was a lot hotter. I would bet AM squad 4 was one of the fastest resetting squads We even fought each other for targets to paste
  23. Buy a quality used semi auto like one of the older Beretta 391s. Its able to last and can be had for a reasonable price. On these guns, your better off buying a quality gun(used) in the class of guns as your budget allows than trying to step up a class and buying a cheap gun of the higher class. Use to shoot a ton of skeet and a lot of guys had the money to spend for a nice semi auto but were fixed on the OU so they spent what a good semi cost on a junky OU and it didn't last. The good thing about buying quality used is it holds its value well. The beretta 391 can be had pretty reasonable used for one of the older ones and just keeps on trucking and will hold value well
  24. Generally the consensus would be a compensator is the way to go. Which comp is the best is up in the air but the vast majority of the shooters have a comp of some kind on their rifle
