  1. There is one that is similar that screws into the threads of a barrel but there really is no point to them. They do nothing that a screw in choke cant do. They are too slow to change chokes with during a stage on the clock and if you try to change it your hand is right at the muzzle and is a DQ waiting to happen. For the cost a couple screw in chokes is the way to go
  2. I think the frame is normal size, the MS housing is just long. I took an extra one and slid it on and it fit flush. I did modify the original since i want to keep the polymer one
  3. +1 I like that the DOH just feels more secure than an race holster. The fact that it is the same draw as a production gun and similar draw to a SS is nice too. I also like it for 3gun where your are doing alot more moving with the loaded gun. I just don't truest a race holster for that
  4. I would just get the std spartan and not the dawson package. Spend the money on a magwell and a different front sight if the one on it is too big of a fiberoptic. When I got mine I switched the recoil spring for a lighter one and shot it and its been 100%. The mainspring housing needs to be shorter to add a techwell mag well which I love due to the size(not needed with a dawson since it replaces the mainspring housing). I just took some material off the bottom of the housing to shorten it up and you can't even see it since there is a magwell there
  5. Nope that would be porting which would move you to open. I would have it threaded for standard chokes and not waste the money on the polychoke. You wont really be able to switch the choke in the course of fire anyway without getting VERY close to a DQ let alone wasting time.

Big question is what if the frame were a replacement frame for a damaged frame? What is the correct model of the gun since the frame has no markings at all
  7. I got one in 9mm recently and have been pleased with it. I had looked at the trojan but didnt like the stippling on the trojan. I would rather have the spartan and eventually get the front strap checkered the way i like it and get it refinished with the finish I like. I figured with the spartan I could customize it more the way I wanted it and have less money in it than say a trojan out of the box.
  8. I have tried a quad before and didnt like it. Just too close together. Singles are the way to go
  9. What gun holders seem to work best for the jogging stroller gun cart builds?
  10. I would avoid the scherer 3.5 pound connectors. Just seen too many of them that were Junk.
  11. I wouldnt put much value in the extended mag release and slide stop. Most of the extended slide stops end up in the spare parts bin as well as the extended mag release. With an extended mag release It rubs my palm due to my grip.
  12. I would guess they are simulators based on the background. It appears to be a FATS Simulator. I have seen some stupid camera men in my day. We actually had a collegiate nationals for the clay targets where ESPN covered it. They had camera men on the ground during the shoot on the field. The guy in charges line. "the camera men know what they are doing and do alot of hunting shows shooting shows etc so just act like they arnt there" It makes for a pretty stressfull situation with them out there. in the field
  13. I feel you. Nothing I hate more than covering others vacations. I spent the summer doing that. Since I can cover them but they arn't able to cover me. My area is considered one in need(do to being short handed big time). I got the pleasure of covering for them to go on vacation. Tried to put mine in, sorry vacation in your area is on freeze since no one can cover you. Being unemployed is looking pretty tempting right now

no conversion barrels are not legal. I would buy a 34 and simply sell the lower. they typically go for close to 250 new and complete. That means you get the upper and 2 mags for like 300 bucks
  15. Ya I dont know where your going to get a taurus with a new barrel installed for less than a spartan. Another difference is if the taurus has problems your on your own since it wasnt sold as a 9mm. The spartan is 630 and is pretty good right out of the box and has a great warranty. Every taurus I have seen is about that price. Quality wise, the spartan is MUCH nicer than the taurus.

  17. The Spikes Tactical heavy buffer works well also. It is not the std weights like in the typical buffers but a powder. I run one in a SBR and it smooths it out alot
  18. I have shot some and it appears to be the same as wolf. I use wolf quite a bit as the matches here really dont have any long distance shots more than say 100 yards on a half size target. At that range it is accurate enough for What I want it for. Works great on the hoser stuff. My gun never has a problem with it at all and its a 16 inch. the 10.5 inch all eats it no problem

Caspian does not have the cutout in the slide which would make them not legal. I would avoid caspian though. I have had 2 of their slides and both had problems. First one broke out the FP channel area of the breech face and had a round chunk of metal(almost looked like a bushing but it wasn't popping out). They had good warrenty service and replaced it for free. The next one had holes that were undersized and should not have been. The FP safety hole a vanek fp safety(which is slightly slimmer than factory) could be forced into the hole but would not function. The factory one would not fit at all. It was also tight in the FP channel, and where the extractor goes. While it is a gunsmith fit, that should not involve having to machine out holes that should be made to correct size as there is no reason to undersize them. That one went back as well. Why not just buy a glock, and sell the frame. They typically go for a pretty good chunk of change on gunbroker
  20. Shot the 1oz loads myself and have not had a problem with them. I also run some choke though and do not try to run a cylinder. I would pattern some of the shells to see how they pattern in your gun. You are looking for the useable pattern, with good coverage not the fringe. I have found alot of quality 1oz loads patten quite well. I just prefer the lack of recoil they offer as well
  21. It definately isn't fun at all. Been doing it here and might be able to squeeze in 1 match a month if I play around with the schedule times alot and just work after a match.
  22. Have the Techwell XT on both my guns. It is just HUGE but still fits the box. It just works much better for me than the SA style magwells. Also think it looks better on the gun than the Dawson.
  23. It is the connector. It is suppose to be bent out in order to work. If it is not bent out it wont work When installing parts in a glock, always install them first to see if it works. Then if you adjust them you know it was your own doing
