  1. Pushed one out before myself. Was it safe, nope but was planning on reloading and the tube jammed so it was that or nothing.
  2. The problem with the franken gun thing is the person could buy the gun used and the serial numbers not match. It could have been the gun was assembled by the original owner or it could have been the frame had a problem and got the frame swapped out by glock and the serial numbers do not match. Unless the shooter states the frame came from a different model then there really is no way to know. The problem with glocks are the frames are not marked as to model or caliber the slide is. Take a 22 frame and put 34 top end and take it to a gun shop. Its getting logged in and sold as a 34 based on the slide. Someone could easily buy a used gun like this. I have had a carry gun need a replacement frame due to a rail snapping off. If this were a competition gun should it basically need to be pitched because a 43 dollar replacement frame has a different number? To really play the devils advocate, say a 22s slide is destroyed. Guy decides to send the frame in with a 34 top end and guts on it for replacement. Glock logs it in as a 34 and ships it out as a 34 with a brand new frame(that was never on a 22). Is that gun a 34 or a 22?
  3. Not sure I would get it to collect. Some guns would be worth a ton based on their dark past but would never be for sale. The St valantines guns, booths gun, oswalds rifle, pretty much any high profile gun used in a crime which wouldnt end up on the market. From a collectible standpoint, he wouldn't be high profile enough.
  4. The 124 grain federal I shot made it with plenty of room to spair. I might swing by the match the day before and try to have some double checked though. Don't really have a place to setup a chrono. In 9mm out of a 1911 why limited 10 minor and not single stack minor? At least with ss you get the advantage of 2 extra rounds over the major
  5. I have both the Kimber(first handgun I bough) and a spartan. Kimber has gone down hill over time. The older guns were much nicer than the new guns. I find the spartans better fit than the new kimbers. If something does go wrong, STI warranty VS Kimber warranty? STI wins by a landslide. STI also has a contingent program and gives back to the sport. KImber simply places an add in the magazine. I think Kimber when down hill when they had more and more offerings with different cosmetic packages and the guns made around 2000 and before are the way to go in a kimber
  6. Larue quite a bit of money can be saved for ordering it without the QD latches
  7. are the 24 inch non ported suppose to come as complete guns or just as barrels
  8. Tried the same grips as airdale and they are still in the wrapper. The work fine but I went the route of having the grip milled and 1911 bushings put it so now it takes regular 1911 grips
  9. arredondo makes a mag well for one that is huge. I have one but never really needed it. I just use a large mag if needed and then no need to reload. It does make reloads a snap though
  10. no wife here but I do remember back in the day in HS getting roped into watching Titanic. Made the mistake of laughing at the end when he dies woops
  11. +1 on getting the FP out of the gun. If your having light strikes, have you tried replacing the Mainspring with a fresh 19 pounder? Your gun right now is not safe and is looking to possibly slamfire with the pin sticking out like it is
  12. I would bet there are several guns other being pieced together. Just look at the people parting them out in the classified. If someone buys a pieced together gun they have no clue what it started as. The dealer logs it in based on whatever upper is on it. Nothing is ever said about it.
  13. My favorite trigger is the jard. For a budget, send the factory parts and like 50 bucks to bill springfield and he works it over. Comes back feeling like a different trigger
  14. I really don't see an RO even looking, or asking about he serial number. The only way I could see one asking is if the gun is a combo glock never made.
  15. The Mclean is for the smaller diameter hole ie 40cal, 9mm
  16. 9mm and 40 barrels won't interchange. Wolf does make a conversion barrel to shoot 9mm out of a 40cal(barrel is thicker) but also not production legal
  17. Avoid anything NC star makes. For a "budget" mount I would get the burris PEPR. For the Larue, you can save quite a bit if you order the one without the QD. Better to buy it once than buy low end and upgrade much cheaper in the long run
  18. With that gun, I would avoid the tungsten. It is alaredy going to be nose heavy even more so with the bull barrel. Most 6inch guns have the slide lightening done to help this. I tried it without and the gun was whipping around much more
  19. The only thing I dont like is the ejector angle on the 9mm angles in where the 40 is more straight out. It looks like the 9mm ejector on a 40 comes closer to the Primer than it should. Its like a 7 buck part
  20. I would say the mags are good to go. I can shoot the match with any legal mag I choose to. I Could walk out and shoot limited with 10 rounds if I want, factory length extended, as long as it fits the division.
  21. It means no ported chokes. No chokes would eliminate most guns out there used in this sport.
  22. Is this for production or limited/lim 10? In limited/lim 10 your good to go. In production you can't switch calibers. There are probibally several guns being shot like that right now. Just look how many people are buying replacement slides. If the frame is back at glock getting repaired ie replaced it is going to have a different serial number when it comes back so matching serial numbers arn't always there on glocks. Glock doesn't take just frames last I checked. So the whole gun needs to go. What is messed up with the frame?
