Call me crazy, but I really like Unique with 147s.The Boss Lady and I both agree that it has a nice smooth recoil pulse. It seems to be a pretty quiet powder with a suppressor too.-Mike

Throw about 3.7grs of WST under those bullets and call it good.I ended up sending a few of my LRN/WST loads out with a local shooter to IRC because they grouped so well at 50.-Mike

Glock 17 w/ Suppressor Not Cycling
kframe_mike replied to chemepharmd's topic in General Gunsmithing
You'll really like it on a carbine.A Handi-Rifle or Contender in .357 would be slick platform too.Do a search in the Revolver forum for 230gr pin loads.A 230gr full wadcutter out of a .357,loaded sub-sonic can make the .300 BLK look kind of silly.-Mike -
Glock 17 w/ Suppressor Not Cycling

I don't think the Wraith does.I believe that it's a fixed mount model intended for carbine/smg use.The YHM Cobras have boosters.I hate to be the one to tell you,but that rascal isn't going to work on a tilt barrel gun.The Wraith is kind of a heavy bugger too,so I'm not so sure it would even cycle 100% on a Beretta 92.-Mike -
I know for a fact that FedEx transports some packages for USPS.I'm not sure how it all works though.-Mike

I guess the Manurhin MR-73 is my idea of a high end revolver. You hardly ever see them for sale though.Think hand fitted S&W with roller bearings.-Mike

Gold Team 9mm replacement barrel/comp
kframe_mike replied to staudacher's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
With all the holes in the barrel and the small comp I haven't been ableto come up with a 9mm Major load that makes enough gas to make for a smooth shooting gun. That's interesting.Would you care to share what powder and bullet combos you've tried? If it's looking like I'd just be wasting my time with 9mm,I might just have mine reamed out to .38 SC and be done with it.-Mike -
Hi guys, new to Open guy here with a question about what weight bullet you 9mm Gold Team V12 guys are running.Which do you think works better,115s or 124s?These would be for Major PF of course.Thanks,-Mike

Gold Team 9mm replacement barrel/comp

As the proud (I think) owner of a 9mm V12 Eric,I was wondering what kind of issues you're having. Are the 9 V12s not so good?I've just started playing with mine using 124s with HS-6,AutoComp,and Power Pistol. This is the first Open blaster I've owned,so I'm not even sure what to expect. It seems to be OK so far though.-Mike -
+1! It would be nice to see somebody else get serious about the revo game.-Mike

What happened with me and Precision Delta

I recently placed an order for 3000 9mm bullets from them.I was impressed at how quickly they were shipped, considering the time of year.-Mike -
Let's pretend I am too cheap for Short Colt

WST works like this as well.My wife prefers using Comp II's,so yeah,I've got extra incentive to keep things clean. As far as using Short Colts vs Specials,I don't know,I'm not good enough to notice a difference so I just use the Special cases I already have.-Mike Are you running WST in .38 Special? Care to share your load data? As soon as my Clays is gone I want to try it, because I already load it in my .40 Limited gun and I already know it's great in .45. Trying to consolidate powders. Sure,I run 3.7grs under a 158 LRN.I got this load out of an older Winchester free brochure. It seems to make PF out of just about everything I've tried it in.There's definitely some room to increase a bit if you have to.-Mike 3.7gr of which powder? Lee 3.7grs of WST,-Mike -

I can't say that I was terribly impressed with Simple Green in my ultra sonic.I might not have had it mixed strong enough though. What I did find that worked was plain old Dawn dish soap.I've heard that Murphy's Oil Soap is supposed to work too.No clue how to mix it.My biggest revelation with this ultra sonic was to let the solution "de-gas" for a while before putting parts in.Heat is also good.I've only used it a couple of times so far and am really just in the experimental stage with it.-Mike

If it was shooting only, not overly physical, and none of this 'vote off' stuff.. I think the woman would have better chances.. it's sort of stacked against them I'm wondering why we're not looking at a 50/50 male/female cast yet.Maybe there aren't enough ladies applying?-Mike

What's a face book?? -
I've got one of these old rascals too. They're a pretty cool gun.Mines broken though,IIRC theres a little tab on the trigger that keeps the cylinder from spinning when its "at rest".Normal lock up is OK,but when I close up the gun,the cylinder spins on its own.I've never been able to find replacement parts.I'll have to take another look at it to see if I remember how that whole mess works. As far as loads for these things, they where made to burn Cordite, which I understand can get really hinky when it gets warm out.-Mike

Thanks for posting that Bearcave, entries going out Monday.See ya'll there.-Mike

That's great info Bearcave! Was one of those links supposed to be an entry form? Its looking like they're both the same announcement flyer?I'm thinking it would be good idea if the organizers had a link for the entry form on the Ruger or Heartland websites, especially if they're charging an extra $10 for day of registration.-Mike

Hey,thanks for the info Tom!It sounds like its on then.I might have to bug you for a copy of the application if I can't get a hold of Bill.My wife and I will be headed down from Rapid City, hope to see you there.-Mike

Does anyone happen to know how the Grand Island,NE match is shaping up?I don't see any entry forms up anywhere for it yet.I tried calling the range were its being held and haven't gotten a response yet.I suppose they're pretty busy with Area 3 though.-Mike

Try 3.8 to 4.3grs under those 158s.It seems like I was making Minor with 4.0 under plain lead 158s out of a couple different guns.-Mike
