Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Any one here reload 20ga on a SL900? If so do you have a parts list for the 20ga conversion? Only information the "Big D" has online, covers the 12ga. I've been curious as to what differ's between the 20ga conversion kit and the 12ga conversion kit. Because rather than plop down $330+ for a conversion kit all at once. Order a few parts here and there, and assemble one as funding is available. If I wasn't paying to have my Brittany trained and planned on hunting over him this fall for the first time. I wouldn't hesitate at ordering the complete conversion kit. I would get an MEC to load 20ga but lack the bench space. Other than the obvious: Shellplate, locator buttons, station 2 locator insert, wad guide (Which I have had when I got my SL900), and case feed sleeve assembly. What else would I need?
  2. Until you get an itch to reload 3" loads
  3. I've always loaded 12ga on my SL900 ever since I got it. But something out of thin air told me to get a 20ga. Well when looking the press over to see what all I would need to change when I get my conversion kit. I noticed that the wad guide is "stuck" in the wad swing arm. I would try tapping it out with a dowel of similar diameter but where the wad swing arm is made from cast aluminum it would probably shatter the first time I tried tapping on the wad guide. I'm open for suggestions.
  4. I've used bore Tech ever since I purchase my first center fire rifle (25-06). About 10 years go. Though I have always had a dark cloud hang over me with their cleaning rods and this gun in particular. But for some reason, all three cleaning rods I have had to purchase over the span. The enamel finish has flaked off either near the brass bushing at the end, or approx. 5-6" from the handle. I have their cleaning rods for my 22-250, and my .30 cals. and they have never flaked. I don't know if I'm being to aggressive, or what exactly. Anyone else experience this with their products?

  6. After taking Flex's suggestion and searching around in regards to his suggestions. I do recall that I was having issues keeping a grip on the gun, it would want to jump out of my hand when I was shooting left handed. Which if I interpenetrated correctly, more than likely I was milking. Though if this is the issue, why would the POI be the same even when I would shoot right handed? No intentions of being argumentative but wouldn't that change the POI to low and to the left? I'll admit I'm wet behind the ears
  7. I'd still see what happens with the ammo you plan on using for carry/competition purposes before getting too worried about changing anything. When you talk to the Trijicon folks I'd ask them how tall the sights are (both front and rear). If it's the same height as the factory night sights, the front is .160" tall. Dawson precision makes a rear night sight that they say requires a .180" tall front sight. If you combined that with the .160" tall current front sight it should raise the point of impact several inches. I think you're right about the W/S sights and I was probably looking at the models they make for Glocks. R, I'm hoping "someone" would eventually replenish their stock of either Hornady TAP in 155gr or Federal Hydra-Shok 155gr. I would build a load using either Nosler or Sierra 150gr JHP's, or Hornady 155gr XTP. To use at the range but same way they are on the brink of becoming extinct. I had these WinClean 180gr on hand back when I got my Glock 22C and used them for plinking, but never seen how they did on paper until yesterday. If I can't find different heights of sights a lighter bullet will be my only option. Edit: P.S. If I knew about Dawson, I probably wouldn't be in this boat. I have never see so many options just in sights. They have my business now!!!!!
  8. See if I can answer all this in a half shell........ Yes I'm left handed. Though to add some twist, I'm right eye dominant. That's why I was trying both left and right hand. To see if it would change any. I was shooting at a 7 yard snail trap. So figured in yardage would be 21 yards. And it was in the mid 60's here when I was shooting. I have not a clue how tall the front sight is, it was purchase as a set. And per the information Trijicon has online that's the only combination that they market for the M&P's. I have sent an inquiry to Trijicon though it probably won't be until Mon or Tues before I get a response. I looked at what CPWSA has in the Warren/Sevigny sights for the M&P and by what they show online. Unless I'm missing something, they don't list the option of various heights for the M&P's. I changed the sights right after I got the pistol, but do to some uncontrollable events it wasn't until yesterday I got a chance to get to the range to see how it would shoot. The sights were sold as one. Per say you order and they come in a blister pack...... I have an inquiry to the manufacture but being the weekend it will have to wait until tomorrow or the day after for a response.
  9. If your using a 6 o'clock hold, try covering what you want to hit with the front sight. Or, install shorter front sight or taller rear sight. Would you have any suggestions for shorter front night sight or taller rear night sight? I know Trijicon dosen't market anything to fit the M&P's other than what I installed. This finding makes me a little concerned about my M&P 40c.
  10. I was at the range today after installing a set of night sights on my M&P 40. To see if I need to change the position of the sights. After shooting 100 rounds of Winchester 180gr WinClean, trying all three sizes of back straps, both strong and weak hand. The gun consistently grouped about the size of a soft ball, but low (approx 3-4") and to the right (3-4") at seven yards. I figured with the sight tool that I used to install the sights with. I could correct the (3-4") to the right. But the (3-4") low what could/should I to do in order to correct that?.
  11. Yes!!! I've even purchased part of it from iTunes.
  12. Any die hard fans here of WWII documentaries? Hopefully some one here can provide better help than what the broadcasters can. Off and on for the last month between the History Channel and the Military Channel they have been airing "The Color of War" Every time they do there is the theme music that they integrated in to the documentary that for some reason I have become drawn to it. Ive asked A&E and its sister stations the History Channel and the Military Channel, for information regarding the theme music, only to be sent away empty handed. I haven't been able to figure out if its a piece that was composed recently just for the documentary, or composed during the WWII era.
  13. I have had bad service with them to the excent that they regenerate the shipping label, so that the delivery date is current with the date they make the delivery. Yet they were foolish enough to stick the label they regenerated over top of the original label the shipper had placed on the package.
  14. Has anyone here been bitten by the bug that Garmin has in their 3.50 firmware? Where it randomly flashes "GPS Update Complete" countless times till the 7X5 chipset crashes. I know my self am a victim, got told I am looking at 10-14 days just for an exchange since I purchased the GPS less than 30 days prior. IMO the engineers that released the flawed software should be working flex time to be filling the exchange orders.
  15. Do people in today's society lack the intelligence needed when it comes to using antiperspirant's I can't stand it when you wait 45 min to an hour, to be seated at some elegant restaurant. And while your enjoying your meal, a party is seated across the isle from you. Before you can take a breath, your whole evening is trashed because some one with in that party reeks worse than a Boy's high school locker room. You struggle to keep your composure, but those last few bites you have to force down. And they don't taste like the first. Cause your sense of smell has been over come by their pungent body oder.
