  1. Tanks for all suggestions! I bellieve I will order the Dillon-equipment online, and use my friend as a reciever if he agrees to it. And yes, the tax (or VAT as some call it) is 25% in Norway. This means that if I buy something in the US for $100, the customs in Norway will hold the goods until I pay them $25. There are no custom-fee on this kind of stuff (as opposed to cars, medicines, food etc).
  2. Hello! Yes, of course, but then I will have to pay 25% tax to the norwegian government. I thought that if my friend buys it and send it to me, it will be a "gift", and therefore I will save this 25%.
  3. Hello! I live in Norway, and have a friend living in San Diego, California. Dillon-equipment are a lot cheaper in the US then here, and I want to ask him if he can buy me a XL650, and send it to me by mail. Do any of you know of a store in San Diego or Los Angeles that have Dillon-equipment? Preferably with a homepage.
  4. Now I have tried my loads! I started with the 4,7gr loads, a bit anxious because of the warnings I had got. But, the 15 rounds I had made all went off in a scivilized manner, and no signs of too high preassure anywhere. So, I went further with the 4,9gr-ammo, and it all went fine. My gun by the way is (surprise...) a Colt Goldcup. But, the groups I managed were really bad... Even shooting from a bench showed patterns that hardly can be called a group at all! I noticed that all the fired cases was colloured black at one side. Why is that? And, can this explain the bad groups? I have reloaded the ammo using a Lee turret press, the brass is all made by Remington, bullets 185gr plated flat nose from Rainier, Remington large pistol primers, and Bullseye powder. My press is a 3-hole turret, so the light crimp I have added is done with the bullet-seatingdie. Would it be better to rebuild the press to a 4-hole turret, and buy a crimpdie from Lee? What kind of crimp does this die make (roll or taper)? And, finally, how can I make a so-called factorycrimp?
  5. Hello, and thanks for the response! I find this link very useful. Regarding to this it seems that my charge is within safe limits. I'm looking forward to try them later today!
  6. Hello! Thanks for quick response! I just checked the COL of my factoryload, and it is not 31,8mm, but 32,15mm (or 1,2657"). The cartrige is marked "HP", and is loaded with a FMJ round nose. I do not know which factory this comes from.
  7. Hello, thanks for answers! My bullet from Rainier is comparable (by looks, weight and finnish anyway) with Hornadys 185gr SWC and Speers 185gr TMJ Match. Surprisingly Speer ( I have their reloading manual No. 11) says this bullet should be loaded with minimum 4,5gr and maximum 4,9gr with Bullseye. Hornady (in their Handbook of cartridge reloading, fourth edition) says their bullet should be loaded with minimum 4,1gr and maximum 5,4gr with Bullseye. Because I have seen before that this particular gun do not like too light loads, I settled for a medium load regarding to Hornady. I have seated the bullets so that the COL is 31,6mm (or 1,244"). The Hornady-book says that maximum COL is 1,245", which equals 31,623mm. I find this strange, as I have factoryloads that are 31,8mm (or 1,2519"). Would any of you be affraid of shooting these rounds in a fairly new and totally mint Goldcup? I am heading for the shootingrange tomorrow, and would be glad for any comments.
  8. Hello! I am a reloader novice, and have some questions. My gun is a Colt Goldcup .45ACP. I have loaded some rounds using Remington brass, 4,9gr Bullseye powder, remington large pistol primers (2 1/2), and Rainier 185gr FMJ flat point bullets. I have not tried this ammo yet, but in a local forum here in Norway I have been told that these loads are potencial dangerous. I can not understand this, because my Hornady reloading manual says that a simular bullet can be loaded with 5,4gr Bullseye powder. Because of the warnings I have got, I have now loaded some rounds with 4,7gr with the same type of powder, bullets and primers. I guess I will start off with these, and then move on. But, do anyone have opinions regarding my first loads?
