  1. Frank Thompson has announced he is running also. That makes me, Kyle, and Frank. Tom
  2. Just to be clear, this was Tim's show. I was a sponsor and helped a little with setup. Tom
  3. Ed, I have the 3 ring binder. I asked John that exact question. My rule book is just under an inch thick. I wont be printing 14 copies of it. You will just have to call me for any clarification. this is from John, Tom, Use the 2010 handgun as the only change was adding the part of the empty mag with the 2 ounces for Production, your suggestion. These rules are currently what everyone is using anyway, we just put them all together into one document instead of 4. They also include up to date, all NROI rulings including the one from 7/6/10. So everyone has at hand what is current. Unfortunately, they are at the printers and not available, but the can be down loaded. If you have print outs of all the documents and the blue book, that is good to go you just need to remember the mag is now included in the weighing of the gun and 2 ounces over the number listed in production. John I hope this helps. Tom
  4. I just wanted to thank Tim and the staff again for the match. I think everyone had a great time. The prize table was amazing! It was a lot harder than "steel challenge with a rifle", think a 9 shot stage with a 10 round mag and try to shoot it fast leaning around a plastic barrel. (Did I mention a 22 sounds different rolling around the inside of that da&%* barerel!) Stage 1 had a 2/3rd IPSC targets at 64 yards. Stage 2 had 7 targets out to 30 yards and a 7" option plate at 100 yardes. Stage 5 used 2 colt speed plates and 2 pepper poppers at 50 yards and an 8 inch stop plate. I have not seen the final times, I know I won open and Dewight Sterns was 2nd. We think about 1 second differance. Winning time was about 131 seconds. I am looking forward to the next one Tim!! I will help out as a sponsor again next year! Tom
  5. Highest zone hit, so Alpha. On scoring the OP's target: Sarge got it right: Alpha, NPM, NS. Troy Troy, How could there be a NS? Wouldent 4.1.5 prohibit The back as a NS? 4.1.5 Declaring a single, intact target to represent two or more targets by use of tape, paint or any other means is prohibited. Tom Well, from the original post, I think there was a no-shoot overlapping the shoot target, and I got the impression that he hit both of them. But, on this forum, you sometimes don't get a clear picture. Here's what the OP said: "When the RO scored it we looked at the target and it had at least a 6" slash that started in the "C" Zone and ended in the "A" zone. I thought that it would be scored an Alpha. But then I looked and there was another 6" slash in a no-shoot that covered the lower 3rd of the target." If it was hit in the back, then no, it's not a no-shoot, but from the description, it sounds like he hit both of 'em in the front, and punched a hole in them. Troy I missed that , sorry. Tom

  7. There is a food vendor there. Much better than last year. I think it was $6.50. Tom
  8. Hi, I have the last of the trophys to mail out on Monday. If any one has a email or phone for Kent Gaskill or Alva Struard, can you rmail or pm me? They signed up late and there address did not get entered in the scoring program. Thanks Tom tom@drazymetalworks.com
  9. BJ finished 6th shooting minor, but I think it was a 38 super
  10. Thanks, as of Area 5, we only had 5 entries. To guarantee the range I had to guarantee $3500 in rent. If we didn't enough entries that bill would have been mine. Anyone who sent in their app will of coarse get a refund. Thanks Tom
  11. I have an intrest in this topic from a personal and as an RM. Most of you know that I have an artifical leg. There have been a few times I have asked for a ruling on 10.2. It has gone both ways. I have gotten a penelaty, and I have not gotten a penalty. It must be a case by case situation. Usualy the RM askes how far I can go safely, and we go from there for any penalties (if any). One stage we duct taped my leg out of the way of bike pedals, (my knee wont bend far enough to pedal a bike). There was a classifier "clame jumpers" I took a 20% penalty. For the same reason. As an RM, I have run into things like a person who, due to an injury can't shoot week hand. If there is a week hand stage, should we alow him to shoot freestile with no penalty? No. Before I could move better, I was barliy competive in C class. But at a steel challenge, bolling pin match, man on man, I was competive in M calss. I won A class at the world shootoff championship while I was C class. So while I was no threat to win a match I could win a class. So to sum it up, it needs to be fair to everyone. Tom
  12. I have to order a few more match shirts for a few people. If any one else wants one let me know today or tommorrow and I will order them. The cost will be $25 and I will pay the shipping. My email is tom@drazymetalworks.com Thanks Tom
  13. I am not going to comment any more or get into a fight on this forum over things that happened or preceved to have happened. I have over 600 emails, and more than 250 hours into this match this year, not to mention that I have been gone from home since the 15th, and won't be home untill tommorrow night. It has been common practice for proxys to be used at the prize table since I have been shooting. This is over 20 years. I will not apoligize for a $35000 prize table donated by about 20 different companies. Including a $3000 custom built 40 cal wide bode STI. Tom
  14. and yes some things were organized very shabby, just ask some of the shooters that found out at the last minute that their squad and start time had changed, I made a mistake ont he matrix. I would like to point out that the matrix has been published since March, and no one else caught it untill the match. Tom
  15. 2/3 of the finishers didn't even get a plaque. Just for the record, to have pacques at the match, they have to be ordred about 3 weeks before the match. At that time I only had abouot 160 shooters. To get the match on the ground I had to leave my house on May 14th. I had to order the placques on May 2nd. I also had over 20 walk on's and one that mailed the payment on May 14th. This changes the needed placques dramatically. That is 1/3rd of the total match. Tom
  16. Hi, I just got back to the motel after tearing the match down. I hope everyone had a good time. The results will be up late tonight when Joy gets home. I don't have the right softwear on this computer to do it. 1st Open, Max 1st Limited, Blake 1st Production, Mike Seeklander 1st SS, Tony Hawkins 1st Lim 10, Tony Phan 1st Revo, Sam Keen Thanks to many, Duane Eggers for all his help, Wayne Miller for the logo design, Lee Neel for the web site work, Al Cappizo for setup, Joy Hyden for stats, We had the results posted 13 minutes after the last shot was fired. Plus all the staff and the shooters. Thanks to all. Tom
  17. Jimmy Mitchell is one of the sponsors. He is from TX. If you are there Friday, Clark Custom Guns is on the range.(He owns it!) Later Tom
  18. If you are thinking about April, the last weekend in April is always the Single Stack nationals. Tom
  19. My Read of Appendix C2 still allows for random and additional collection of ammo to test..... C2 #29. It is recommended that ammunition be collected from competitors as randomly as is possible to insure that the collected ammunition accurately matches the ammunition the competitor is actually using in competition. Not only allows it but recomends it. The way I read this the RO can take ammo from the shooters bag, mags or pockets if they have any there. Tom
  20. We have a few venders that are going to be at the match this year and if you need anything, call them and preorder it! There are links on the Area 4 Championship page. STI The Bullet works Brazos Grundhouser Gun Works Black Bullets International Power Custom Briley Drazy Metal Works There are a few people signed up for the match who have not squadded themselvs yet. If you need a pin number, email me at tom@drazymetalworks.com. I will be closing the self squadding on Tuesday. I leave for setup on Friay Morning. Later Tom
  21. Getting back to the original post, at most major matches, Area and Nationals, CED is the Chrono used. For that reason alone, this is the only one I would buy to test my loads. Are some more accurate? Maybe, I don't know. But it still comes down to using what the mtches are going to use. If you are using a controled lab to test your loads, it wouldn't matter if the one at the match says you are 100 FPS too slow, you are going minor. I know that when we have Ken Sketers doing Chrono, he tests it at the match with a known load, from his pistol that has been tested at a lot of matches. So at least it is consistant. Tom
  22. Shreveport is the clostest, but Dallas and rent a car is sometimes cheeper. Tom
