  1. YOU...... YOU, You unspeakable you!! :(
  2. If done incorrectly Hard Chrome can cause the gun to crack so when you go go for a guy that knows what he does.
  3. Yes please, if I can choose one with a red F/O insert. I sincerely believe that this will work.
  4. I would give the barrel to a good 'smith to loosen the chamber a bit. Hell all my chambers gets the treatment when I get a new barrel(very infrequent as I shoot .45)
  5. I am from South Africa so our way might be different from yours. Before every National we have a "pre-match". This enables all the people that cannot shoot the "main" match for a good reason to compete. All the RO`s and range personnel shot our first round of Nationals this way. As far as I know all the RO`s shot the "pre-match" without any exceptions. Them shooting the "pre-match" allowed the organizers to "tweak" some stages as shortages became apparent. Just the RO`s then had to re-shoot the modified stages. Over all it works very well for us.
  6. Let me see: You guys in the USA have all the "nice goodies" when it comes to shooting. What have I shot during the last 133 days? Make that 7 level 1`s, 4 Level 2`s and one Level 3. This Saturday I will again shoot a Level 2. You may have a great country, a great government and (next to us) unbelievable good Gun Laws but next to us your weather sucks big-time. I have seen snow- on TV. I have seen frost- on TV. I have read about "black frost". BTW I still do not get the eating of the yellow snow thing.
  7. Thank you sir, I am not the only one aggrieved by that. Strangely they are normally the guys that THINK they are the greatest shooters ever. The "super squad" during our Nationals a couple of weeks ago were all resetting and patching like they were being paid for it. ( I was not in the squad but walked by while they were resetting a range)
  8. You need to have a good smith look at your gun. It is possible that the hammer is going all the way down and you do not want that to happen at any time. Even if it "only" goes to half-cock you cannot afford to let this happen during a match or in real life. The first step you must take in Practical Pistol is to have a reliable tool. I have walked down this road and only since I got my gun sorted completely did I start getting better at the sport. As I did, you will get nowhere before your club works, every time. You are a much better person than me, I cannot stay at a match after a DQ. I would just spoil everyone's day that way. By leaving just my day gets spoiled after I earn a DQ. BTW my DQ also came during a reload and I actually hit the "C". Finger was on the trigger and I got sent home. Damn, that was last year and it still annoys me!
  9. I myself left after my DQ, sorry I just could not stick around. I was so angry with myself that I did everyone a favor. It is so unattractive to chew your liver in public.
  10. The Darwinist`s wold have us believe that the best thing we could do for the planet was to die. Since, differently form most other people, I do not descend form the apes(all my ancestors were human- right up to Adam) I plan to irritate the Darwinist`s by becoming so old that everyone will need to rewrite the history books- Methuselah move over man, I`m coming through.
  11. Snow, what`s that? Seen it on telly and once over the border in the mountains in Lesotho I saw something white. People said that it might be snow.
  12. Managed to do it again at the Nationals last weekend!! My liver now has new chew marks. I am still trying to figure out how I ended up with 8 rounds in my 15 round mag. I have "systems in place" to make that impossible- seemingly they do not work.
  13. Hey, down here in South Africa we had a 98F yesterday, at least today we are at 73. Now we cam try and live again.
  14. I have the honor of shooting with the South African Standard Champ. He is a nice and humble guy that always take the time to help us lower live forms. I have never known him to turn a shooter away- even during the last Nationals we had I heard him giving advice to a shooter that asked for advice. Alex then stepped on the line and ran a blazing run. He is currently so in the "zone" that he makes it look easy. Alex, his brother Mark and some other top shooters are helping us this weekend to lift our skills.
  15. I shot my first Level 3 this weekend and am starting my preparation for the next Level 3 this weekend. During the match I mostly got well above 80% of the points but my times were abysmal. This knocked me down to 91st place. Do you agree that it is time to move my focus from accuracy to speed? I got 2 zero point stages because of problems that I could not fix at the match. Obviously this also played a part as well as the fact that I only factored 169.9 because of a error I made while reloading. (Most of my ammo was closer to 180PF). Any advice will be welcomed.
  16. You sure that is a Dane, looks a bit puny to me- nice fun though!!
  17. Just got my latest test back - 8! That is normal. Keep off the indoor ranges that is my advice to anyone that had a lead problem.
  18. The idea (as I understand it ) is to make the slide as light as possible and then use a light recoil spring. This makes the gun "feel" softer. The problem comes that it is so easy to sacrifice dependability to get "soft" recoil.
  19. It must have been one of that "gun free" Universities, else He would have used the analogue lightning- a M16.
  20. About Dillons. Is it worth my while to the Square Deal? I can pick it up for about R2500-00 witch works out at $312.5 second hand, sight unseen.
  21. Come down to the Eastern Cape, our local drink here is "Mampoer" produced form the noble fruit of the Prickly pear. We use it to travel into the future(if you consume enough you loose track of up to a week). We use it as a secret weapon against shooters of other Provinces.
  22. The 230gr doing 750fps knocks the pins clear off the table, every time. In IPSC I never hit a popper that did not do down. I like the recoil(gentle push) of a 45. For the 40 is mag capacity( you can((will?)) miss more often) and some people like the snappy recoil. I I was going to shoot pins I wold use a 45. You might choose to use something else. Shoot them both and then you decide.
  23. I like to double-plug and wear good eye protection. The double-plugging "removes"me from the bustle about shooting and gets me into the "zone" easier. It just helps to me to get to the state where my conscious mind is watching me shoot while watching the sights rise and fall. When I am "there" I can neither blink or flinch and everything is absolutely smooth. My mind reminds me where to place my feet and to start indexing as I approach a target. This makes flinching absolutely unthinkable as my mind is not shooting the gun by my finger(unconscious mind)
  24. Guys, this sounds a lot like your lead levels may be high. It breaks down he immune system and could cause your other symptoms. Just maybe you should have your levels checked.
