  1. hardcover does not change to softcover at the whim of the RM. that's crap! the RM should know the rules and enforce them accordingly. as i remember from last year's Area 4 the RM made a bad call on a certain GM DQ. i wonder if this is the same RM? lynn jones
  2. this is what i do. the first gun gets the uspsa number. the second gun gets no uspsa number. both show up on match results. then you have to hand write the hit factors, names, etc. on the reports that go to the uspsa. lynn jones example: [pre] Stage: 4 Off Balance Blast Place Name No. Class Division Pts Pen Time Hit Fact Stg Pts Stg % 1 Jones , Lynn 11 M Open 108 0 16.74 6.4516 120.0000 100.00% 2 Hendrix, Nathan 10 B Open 112 0 18.38 6.0936 113.3412 94.45% 3 Lofton, Chad 13 M Limited 114 0 19.49 5.8492 108.7953 90.66% 4 Cobb, Rodney 6 M Open 111 0 19.01 5.8390 108.6056 90.50% 5 Bowman 2nd, Craig 20 M Limited 108 0 20.16 5.3571 99.6423 83.04% 6 Sigler, William 2nd 22 A Limited 115 0 21.60 5.3241 99.0285 82.52% 7 Sigler, William 16 A Open 118 0 23.46 5.0298 93.5545 77.96% 8 May, Rodney 14 M Limited 108 0 23.44 4.6075 85.6997 71.42% 9 Grewe, Bill 9 B Open 105 0 24.15 4.3478 80.8692 67.39% 10 Bowman, Craig 3 M Limited 115 0 27.20 4.2279 78.6391 65.53% 11 Pierce, Calvin 15 C Open 103 0 25.11 4.1020 76.2974 63.58% 12 DuBois, Bob 2nd 21 B Open 118 0 29.37 4.0177 74.7294 62.27% 13 Chalk, Dennis 5 C Limited 112 0 28.23 3.9674 73.7938 61.49% 14 Williams , Marty 19 B Open 108 0 29.26 3.6910 68.6527 57.21% 15 Davidson, Max 7 M Open 107 30 21.45 3.5897 66.7686 55.64% 16 Keen, Sam 12 C Limited 108 10 28.74 3.4099 63.4243 52.85% 17 Carl, Storm 4 U Limited 106 0 31.81 3.3323 61.9809 51.65% 18 Dubois, Bob 8 B Open 113 60 17.74 2.9876 55.5695 46.31% 19 Wigginton, Stan 18 GM Open 111 0 42.87 2.5892 48.1592 40.13% 20 Walter, Harold 17 U Production 95 10 35.81 2.3736 44.1490 36.79% 21 Smith, Troy 2 U Limited 10 111 0 58.50 1.8974 35.2917 29.41%two 22 Simmons, Chris 1 U Limited 10 88 50 23.89 1.5906 29.5852 24.65%[/pre]
  3. patches, the whole idea behind the Arbitration fees is to hold down the amount of Arbitrations that would occur over any questionable call by the RO. you'd have to be very certain you're justified before giving up $100. just think about this for a moment. you would have a full time committee to handle all the arbitrations such as foot faults, etc. as far as where the fee goes, as i said previously, it's better to keep the fee in house, than to send it away. lynn jones
  4. patches, the match organizers would not use the money to buy beer, it would more likely be jack daniels or scotch. seriously, the money would offset match expenses. at least the money stays in house. lynn jones
  5. john, 1) the rear sight pin is not uncommon with the STI bomar copies..get a real Bomar. 2) the extractors take the most abuse on a gun..IMHO. get a spare when you get a new one and have it fitted at the same time. 3) hammers and sears don't go bad that soon. bad fitting probably. 4) stick with the STI, glocks break too. fwiw, lynn
  6. here's the rule on fees: USPSA 14th Edition Rule Book • 69 11.4.2 Protest Fees • If the Committee’s decision is to uphold the protest, the fee paid will be returned. If the committee’s decision is to deny the protest, the fee paid will be held forfeit. Forfeited protest fees along with the submission and decision for National events will be forwarded to the National Range Officers Institute (NROI). Forfeited protest fees along with the submission and decision for International events (Level III and higher) will be forwarded to the International Range Officers Association (IROA). no where does it say the Arb committee can keep the money if they particially uphold the protest. call the MD and get your money back. lynn jones
  7. vince, the procedurals were 5, the arb comm reduced them to 2. seems for a $100 fee. i always cut to the chase and give the money directly to the RO. lynn
  8. he will definitely use the force to gain control of free drinks. hmm, i would. happy b-day vince. lynn
  9. patches, the arbitration comittee has to drink too! but, i think they should have given the money back. the procedural penalty is in the "opinon" the RO not the competitor. the brain fade should have yeilded only one procedure in my view. lynn jones
  10. jgobbels, all my raceguns have the grip safety disabled. if you get a incorrect grip on the gun or shift your grip the active grip will cost you. not all shooter deactivate the safety, but a lot do. lynn jones
  11. hard headed friends. a buddy of mine at the 2003 Alabama Championship gun broke. he refused to barrow my gun or other offered guns to finish the match. we could have fixed his gun to boot. he just quit. lynn
  12. i hate max michel, jr. he total kick everyones collective butts at the 2003 Alabama championship. the closest competitor was his dad at 75% . i was a mere 72% lynn jones
  13. Lesson One - An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle & asked him, "Can I also sit like you & do nothing?" The eagle answered: "Sure, why not." So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle, and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it. Management Lesson - To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up. Lesson Two - A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy." "Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" : replied the bull. "They're packed with nutrients." The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, he was proudly perched at the top of the tree. Soon he was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot the turkey out of the tree. Management Lesson - Bull Shit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there. Lesson Three - A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground in a large field. While it was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on it. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, it began to realize how warm it was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him. Management Lesson - (1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy: (2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend. (3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut! This ends your management course.

  15. hi all, they had stage like this at the 2003 Alabama Championship. The stage was called "Weak Steel". the procedure was one string, 3 paper targets 6 steel. engage freestyle 2 on each paper, engage 2 steel, mandatory reload, again engage freestyle 2 on each paper, engage 2 steel, mandatory reload, then engage the weakhand only, engage 2 on each paper, engage 2 steel. when i noticed several people ran dry on the weakhand part switched back to the stronghand to reloaded to finish the course of fire, i mentioned to the RO's there should be a procedural. two different RO's said it was okay because it was a using both hands to clear a jam or reload. i said "oooookay" and moved along. i know i should have pressed the issue, but just think of all the reshoots or throughing the stage out. this was a fun match and i didn't want to stir the stink. lynn jones
