  1. They look fun Time to play with autos, revlovers had their match There is going to be a lot of crash and burn from the looks of the stages. I would have to like to seen the large points stages seperated a bit.
  2. Long range shooting is such a different bird, I would not attend if it was part of the regular match. I think it would limited the pool of shooters you have to draw from.
  3. It is VERY seldom you cant determine by lining up the two bullet holes which shot hit the no shoot. The angle generally makes one of the shots easy to identify, but in theory when in doubt give the shooter the higher scoring shot, not a reshoot. I may be wrong, but that is fairer then making them have to reshoot it, because you know they would do worse on the reshoot
  4. I try to always go through the stage before I shoot it and make sure that targets are taped, props set, because I hate reshots and I generally do it better the first time. I don't know where in the rules you can get a reshot for untaped targets is, I know it can be very distracting shooting targets that already have holes in them. I think it just means the RO didn't do his job and the shooter gets the shaft. Flex, I wasn't accusing Steve of that, I just HATE it when people pull that crap. I had to get it off my chest
  5. All hard cover should be hard cover, preferably steel, not no shoots. [rant on] If you KNOW you hit the no shoot and then you KNOW you shouldn't get a score also. I think this comes down to the character of the shooter. Some will try to take credit for a shot they never made, and some will own up to the fact that they didn't execute the shot and take the consequences and the penalties. Some men are men, some are whiners, and seldom are whiners winnners. I would HATE to win a match, any match, by getting credit for doing something I didn't do. This is a game, and it is sad some try to break the rules to win. IN my book only losers cheat to win. [rant off] The rules are clear, but if a designer screws up on a stage and overlooks an angle or doesn't have real hardcover, be a man and take the penalty, after all you are the one who broke the shot, not the RO.
  6. Buy American made Frenchie But them again I am a bit loyal to the good 'ol USA
  7. To complete is to win. So just go out and complete each stage the best you can. Some days it will be good enough for HOA and sometimes you just got to go shoot guns. A day shooting guns is better than most.
  8. I would just go with the SV hammer and sear and a tri-glide spring and disconnect. They have a great drop in fit.
  9. Do you think there is a big enough market to produce mag pouches for one handers? I doubt you could turn much of a profit to make it worth your time.
  10. So is my SV 17,000 rounds in 4 months and no problems
  11. Amen brother!!! I am very thankful for the forum that you so graciously provide and the GREAT poeple who share their knowledge and experience.
  12. Paraman, I think you need a cop to give you a hug.
  13. A G17 would be hard to win Nats with since it is MINOR. If you have a plastic fetish indulge yourself and have fun shooting. Why try to piss on those who prefer the 1911? Oh wait, the last time a Glock won Limited Nats, uh NEVER (but it is the driver that win not the pistol). Take that in you pipe and smoke it.
  14. LOL I tried the beans, then I realized practice worked better
  15. Aiki, Practice it enough and you don't have to worry about what/where your feet are, your eyes will tell you when to break the shot and I know MANY people who can shoot targets 5-8 yards on the dead run acurately. When you focus enough on the shot the body will do what it needs to do to get ready for it. Gunsmoke, You may feel like you can keep perfectly still, but the further away your hands are from your centerline, the more they will move. Hold a two foot stick pointing straight away in front of you. Now hold a 4 foot straight away from you. Which wiggles more? They wiggle about the same, but the further away from the center point the more you can see it.
  16. Spook, Thanks, I don't recall that particular time, but @ 10 yards my par time is about 2 seconds to get alphas. I don't draw or reload super fast because I take time to see my sights on both shots. @ 3 yards my par is about 1.85 getting alphas with my personal best being 1.64 (not seeing shite) but I would rather take the time to see and get my A's. Hmm, I am using media player 9 too and no luck.
  17. I saved it and it says bad codec.
  18. Which was fastest? Flex looks like he deserve the nickname, one strong looking dude.
  19. Doesn't work for me either. My 1st attempt at video draw 1 reload 1 @10 yards 2 alphas here
  20. A top end would do just fine.
  21. Jon, $400 for a complete SVI lower, where can I find one? My trigger setup is $160, mag catch $30, and a SVI ramped frame kit for a extended dust cover is $511 ($411 standard) throw in a safety for $60 and you have about $761 plus fitting costs in the lower. I bought the SVI interchangeable system so that I can swap stuff out instead of rebuilding the upper, so I would lean in that direction. I did for a short while shoot a limited upper on my open lower till I saved enough cash to build a whole gun.
  22. Try running and shooting with your arms locked (bouncy, bounce, bounce). That should tell you all you need to know. I want a position where I can shoot anywhere, anytime.
